So how do you determine your fixed fate? Look at the conscious-unconscious column of information in your life chart, and find the top number in black (where the conscious fourth line is attached). That is the gate number relating to your fixed fate. Turn back to chapter 6 and read its meaning. This is your immovable theme in life.IP: Logged |

It's pretty cool once you get a hold on it.
But, like I said, I want to know the really cool, juicy stuff about this technique, like synastry or transits.
I made a chart for meeting the Fish and compared it to my own and his. Comparing the gates both charts had open, the opposite ones and the new channel it opened by combining the 2 charts. Fascinating! I think the reason I met Fishy is generally somehow linked to aesthetics. But no clue how that's gonna manifest - IF it will.

If I met someone with open gate 59, would the whole channel be coloured red instead just the half, through the interaction?

Maybe if they had both gates open, I would feel the attraction more strongly, because they have a completely open channel on their own, but I *need* them to open mine.
And if their channel 6 was closed, but 59 open, it would be more mutual?IP: Logged |

Interestingly both my parent have an open gate 59, but no open gate 6.
I guess that means I connect to them well, which is pretty true.EDIT: BTW I looked up their chart together. They have one truely complimentary channel.
My Mum has gate 39, my Dad has gate 55.
(CHANNEL of EMOTING: Root to emotions) They have one mixed channel.
My Dad has a complete 31/7 channel to complete my Mum`s gate 31
(channel of the ALPHA )
- Self to throat)
They do have however EIGHT shared gates or channels.
They both share the 64/47 channel: channel of ABSTRACT THINKING
(Mind to crown) And following gates: 21: gate of control (heart)
59: gate of intimacy (sacral)
27: gate of nourishing (sacral)
41: gate of imagination (root)
28: gate of the game player (spleen)
18: gate of improving (spleen)
57: gate of the Gentle (Spleen)
All their 9 centres are activated in one way or another in their interaction:
Crown: 1
Mind: 1
Throat:1
Self:1
Heart: 1
Emotions: 1
Sacral: 2
Root: 2

Hera,I was thinking of the possible activations of channels and gates in the interaction of two people, and had these ideas about it. Let me know what you think. 1) the same channel is activated for both.

In the chart overlays these doubly activated channels would probably be painted very thickly.
Maybe it indicates a point of great similiarity and likeness. But since either has it on their own, it is more a harmony or familiarity than really a spark of attraction.
2) A has an active channel - B has a completely empty channel

I see two possible manifestations here. Either B will not even notice A.
or and that is pretty much different from the first idea. B only has access to that channel through A, and is therefore dependent on A in a way, which might lead to a certain feeling of neediness and codependence.
A on the other hand might not even notice. However it could be that there`d have to be at least one open channel to allow for the receptivity.
3) A has an active chanel - B has a single gate of that channel activated

- the doubly activated gate probably will be very visible in the interaction
- it is a reinforcing aspect for A
- it is a magnetizing, attracting aspect for B, as B needs A to access to the whole channel.
A bit the feeling of "you complete me", while A may feel it differently, more in the sense of a certain familiarity (at least in terms of the mutually activated gate)
4) A and B have the complimentariy gates activated

- mutual attraction and feeling of "completion"
5) same gate activated for both

- a point of similiarity but not as allencompassing as if they had the same channel activated
1) point for compatibility and friendship
2) depends which manifestation occurs; attraction-aspect for B?

That's more or less how I see them, too. Except for the empty channels/gates thing. It is said if you have an empty channel and you interact with someone with a defined channel, then YOU act like a mirror for them. Did you read that excerpt when someone was seated in front of a Reflector (has all chart undefined) and after a few moments started to cry? I wouldn't say the defined person is indifferent. I actually don't know who feels it more.. Bahh, it's the same as with the astro, can never tell for sure who feels what/more. EDIT: actually it just stroke me that perhaps the Black person (Conscious) will be more aware of the influence, while the Red/Pink (depending on the program you use) person - Unconscious - will feel it, but won't be quite aware of the chemistry. No, I havenīt read that bit yet.
I am also not sure I understand how it is meant.
Anyway, in the meantime I have had a look at the Newman`s charts.
They have one shared channel 28-38
they share these gates:
gate 24
gate 11
gate 13
gate 44
they complete these channels:
channel 4-63
channel 26-44
channel 6-59
channel 42-53
channel 41-30 They donīt have a mixed channel, in which one of them aligns with the other`s complete channel
(amazingly I have very often found 9 or 10 alignments in all the comparisions I looked at so far.)
