I actually know a lot about chinese astrology. The chinese zodiac doesnt have elements, rather it assigns 1 of 5 elements to your sign according to your specific date of birth. (i think it determines it by the month)There are feminine and masculine signs just like in the western zodiac.
The Yin or feminine signs are the Snake, Rooster, and Ox which correspond to Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn respectively. The Snake is much more like a combination of Scorpio, Taurus, Cancer and Libra, though. It is basically like a very deep, wise, calculating, sensitive, and sometimes revengeful Libra. Snakes are very emotional, needy, clingy and sensitive, but are very graceful, cool and detached on the outside. The rooster is also a but more fiery than a Virgo. It always has to be doing something and is usually very bossy trying to get everyone to do something productive. Think of a hen clucking around.
and
Rabbit/Cat, Pig/Boar, and Goat/Sheep correspond to Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces respectively, but Rabbits are way more practical and affectionate than pisces, and goats are more wishy washy than cancers. Pigs are nothing like scorpios, rather, they are exactly like cancers.
The yang or masculine signs are Dragon, Monkey, and Rat. A dragon is like a combination of aries and leo, and a monkey is like a leo, gemini, and sag put together but without the arrogance of a leo or need to be center of attention of sag. The rat is actually most like a gemini. They are cold, unaffectionate, and witty. Gemini is like a combination of horse, monkey, and rat, and sag is probably best described as a combination of monkey and horse with a bit of the dragon or tiger's dramatic flair.
The rest of the yang signs are The dog, tiger, and horse which corresponds with libra, aquarius, and gemini respectively. The horse is a lot like a gemini, but the dog is only slightly like a libra. It is somewhat similar to libra but without the vanity or need to be extremely social and spread its charm. The snake, on the other hand, is almost exactly like a libra. The Tiger is also nothing like Aquarius. Iin fact the Dog is almost exactly like an Aquarius but without the rebelliousness and the Tiger is actually exactly like an Aries.
Unlike in the western zodiac, opposites in chinese astrology are not considered to have complementary qualities that can balance each other out. Opposites are considered enemies. Take, for example, the snake and the pig. The snake is like a libra (but correlates to taurus) and the pig is like a cancer (but correlates to scorpio). The pig hates the snake's constant need for socialization to show off their beauty and charm, their vanity, their not so great loyalty, and their calculativness and distrust of others. The snake hates the pigs lack of intellectual interests and charm, plainness, and overly subjective view of life. They are both much too soft and indecisive to even have constructive communication. Therefore, they are almost exactly like the clash of libra and cancer.
The snake is considered themost beautiful andcahrming of all the signs just like libra and the dragon is the most innocent fiery showoffy and optimistic of the signs like an aries therefore they go together very well and actually complement each other exactly like a libra and aries would
They are also considered to go togetherverywell because they are both reptiles
One more thing. The signs all look like their animals. For example a cat or rabbit always has that cold deer in headlights look that cats and rabbits have. They are also unffactionate like cats
and they lazy around like cats but are sometimes jumpy like rabbits. Their personality is also a lot like a cat.
The pig looks exactly like a piggy and its personality is just as refined and innocent as a pigs. The dragon and snake both have small waists and long torsos like reptiles but dragons are colorful expressive and energetic like dragons and usually like wearing and having colorful things like the colorful dragons deoicted in china too. The snake on the other hand looks cold and detached
on the outside are quiet and calculating movesssss
very ssssssslowly and looks very innocent until they go for the attack.
The ox often resembles an ox the rat funnily enough almost always looks like a rat and the goat sometimes looks like sheep while some of them look distinctly like little baby goats lol. The tiger has the cheekbones and movements of a tiger. The horse the gallop and fast energy of one and they even have sturdy bone structure like a horse but only look somewhat horsey in the face. Monkeys look strikingly like monkeys and the way they act is also no different and roosters have pronounced eyes a beaklike nose and big hands like roosters. The big hands would be akin to the wings of a rooster lol.
Yep. So thats chinese astrology for ya.
