I've heard everything from situational low self-esteem to just having that spiritual angle that the 12th house gives (Gandhi had this placement too). And yes, I've known quite a few Ariens with strong Taurus energy and they usually are pretty mellow folks to be around. [/B]
Ah! Gotcha. Yes, definitely, I'm a more *muted* Aries. I would say that's true. It dials down the Aries energy. Although with Mars in Aries, that's pretty strong stuff. That comes through, and I'm not afraid to use it when I really have to. Even if my Mars sits in the 12th. Definitely have the self-esteem issues. In fact, dealing with that right now. Got some disappointing news about a project I'm working on, and even though there are still other chances, I feel all undone. Feel a bit like a goober at the moment. Ugh! This is when I can use a good kick of Aries over-self-confidence! IP: Logged |

Awww darn, professional setbacks always suck. I hope you do find another avenue or get another chance! I also have an Aries Mars and I agree that it can be useful when you have some agenda or goal in mind, even if saturn/12th squares mine giving it the "wetblanket effect". But yes, when the setback like that happens, it can be like a huge dampener. IP: Logged |

No problem! This topic wasn't actually of my own making, there was another one like this a few years ago when I had my old screenname but its deep in the old Astrology forum. I thought, through my own angst, that maybe I'd start it up again since the other one was so good. hehe And wow, I wish I could meditate...if only I could silence my mind for even 5 seconds!

I'm very sleepy right now but just wanted to add that I am a 12th House Aries and I never felt like I matched the Aries description. Now that I'm older I see my Aries more and my ego can be GIANT. You'd be amazed at the nicknames that I have for myself. They would make you thing that I was an emperor or something. But I also want to remind you that Madonna is a 12th House Virgo. The interesting part about it is that I never could have figured out how it works in her life until I read her brother's tell all book. He specifically talks about how after she did her shows, people thought she was always out partying when the truth is she would go straight back to her hotel to be with a select few people to party with or she'd go straight to bed and try to sleep because she is an insomniac. That's all for me now before I fall asleep, but I'll continue reading tomorrow. ------------------ Geocosmic Valentine Professional Astrologer geocosmicvalentine@yahoo.com www.myspace.com/geocosmicvalentine IP: Logged |

Not even, a trine with moon, wide orb and sextile pluto, 3 degree orb. Interesting, neptune is at 29 degrees for me. Like I said, at the very end of house 11 but house 12 in nep descriptions always fit me way more. Even with major asteroids, sextile pallas and trine vertex. However, square vesta and juno and opp. PF. IP: Logged |

@Geo: you mean 12th house Leo (re:Madonna), right? Its her ASC and Moon thats in Virgo. That is interesting to know though because I would never have pegged her as a 12th houser, but then again I wouldn't have pegged her for a Virgo Moon either. Though of course I also didn't know much about her real life! @Carl: Hmmmm, well insomnia is a 12th house thing I just never thought it would be a factor with an accidental dignity (Neptune) and a benefic (Jupiter). Anything going on in your 3rd house?
Anyways, I just got done with my most favorite 12th house institution in the world....the Nightshift! And now I'm off to bed. Honestly, this is the best kind of work schedule ever. <3

I have north node in 11/12 on cusp "nearly"... There are no other planets but it is very bad placement for soul purposes.. I am prone to "sin" first of all.. Since 12 house deals matter of "satisfaction in sex" also, i am never satisfied....We all have in dark side of us so use it wisely

i have a scorpio sun in the 12th.not exactly sure what it means, probably an even more enhanced need for privacy or something like that. (and that would be true.) and maybe the feeling of being misunderstood quite often. i would also add complicated communication - like feeling and "knowing" a lot of things but not being able to put that through. i sort of got used to it though. it's getting easier and easier to handle as you understand it more. Satisfaction in sex related to the 12th? I've never heard of that before. Why is that, out of curiousity?

@Aya: Saturn in the 12th is no joke, but conjunct your Sun? Well I'm not making any assumptions so how is it for you? Do you feel any repression of your true self? I'm not sure about muted quality traits since its a water sun in a water house, but Saturn in my experience can be very repressive on a water sun. @ecomat: Its seems when the elements of the house and the Sun match, it pretty much enhances the quality of the sun sign. Of course that doesn't mean things are a walk in the park. And yes, being misunderstood seems to be a prevailing theme here. Neptune's specialty I say. Like running on a totally different frequency from everyone else.

Oh my, I thought I had it bad - Saturn is in my 12th, conjunct Jupiter, square Neptune in the 3rd and opposite Mercury.Yes to insomnia; bad case of panic attacks and agoraphobia in my early twenties. Feelings of separateness overwhelm me sometimes, I need my alone time to reconnect with the Source. IP: Logged |

Well, BM, I always describe what I feel is my Saturn conjunct Sun in 12th (and Scorpio, let's not forget ) as an inner voice that is always leaning over my shoulder telling me I'm not good enough. The fact that it's in 12th I feel makes it a hidden, secret inner battle that no one ever gets to see. Some people who have known me for some time do notice that it makes me very insecure, but also seeing as my rising is in the next sign, a positive and outgoing sign, most people immediately assume that I'm actually very secure about myself. I wish. The position also makes me a perfectionist, and to an extent I think fuels my mildly neurotic behaviour. Although it doesn't make sense to me as they are typical Virgo traits... They do seem to stem from the fact that I'm immensely insecure and thus try to better myself in any way possible. So basically, I have that gnawing thought with everything I do that I'm not good enough, that's how I experience Saturn conjunct Sun. I expect that if they were in the 1st house, that people would immediately notice just how insecure I am.

conventional astrology teaches us that the 12th house is the house of the mysteries and secrets while for my part i regard it a bit differently, but thats mainly cause i read a book that described all traits of saturn in the specific houses.according to that modern astrology point of view, the 12th house is associated with being at bliss=no judgment<->versus 6th house=being in the moment and alert...effort too. with my saturn return (last year complete) i came to realize that the blissful state was all around me...and i really didnt require anyones validation, maybe we 12th house suns should really get rid of the labels we are given, just accpet people projecting and then moving on with our journey...the insecurities dragged me down as a child, like in particular people who always pretended knowing me far better than i knew myself..its not worth the precious time to wonder what others may or may not think about us...its not important, well fact is if i see that someone knows metter for me,directly or indirectly,i keep a distance, and have a hard time to trustIP: Logged |

Confession time: if you'd ever watched Being Human S2 you know how Annie begins to feel she has no purpose or place on the earthly plain. Well, that's pretty much the story of my life, and the feelings got very intense around the time of the Scorpio Moon last week....spawning this thread. I'm really in awe that my own personal lows could get everyone talking like this. Keep the thoughts/rants/whatever coming! And commenting on lucie's post, my 3 favorite places in the world are my room, the bookstore, and the beach because they're are the places where I don't have to be in the *here and now*, and that is *the* blissful state for me.
I was once borderline agoraphobic, to the point where I would avoid going out in public places or anywhere where there was a large crowd. Being around that still makes me very apprehensive, however, but not as bad as in the past. There's just too much energy in those situations that is easy for me to pick up. IP: Logged |

Yeah, pretty much any place where you can retreat is gold. There's a beach on an island not too far from my house that I love going to because its less densely populated. And I hate to get all randomly Cancerian nostalgic on everyone, but the 90s had the best music.

I used to be agoraphobic - it started when I was fifteen, and affected me for years. I wasn't at my happiest, but I was doing my own thing (art) at home, and knew I didn't want to be at keg parties. I sort of wish I'd at least tried Akron U, and made a few friends, but that's now. I now need to get out of the house, to feel better - although just going for a walk along the lake, with family and the dogs, helped me tonight. I need a certain amount of time to myself, but I think it's odd that I've now swung the other way, to needing to get out to the cafe at the bookstore, or something. I think I need to be somewhere, where it's warmer year-round, so that I'm not stuck inside because of the snow, but I also don't want to totally leave here, because it feels as though there are too many of our four-legged family members buried here now. (Sorry to be morbid.) I know just what you mean re: what you said about Annie (and I can't believe that Mitchell's gone either, but that bit did get me crying - I didn't think they'd actually do it). I'll be back later. IP: Logged |

Agreed, the '90's had great music! Yes, a retreat is almost a necessity with planets in the 12th. Over the past year, I've started hiking in a canyon here where I live. Now I find myself deeply drawn to the area. It's like magic to me. When I go up there, I have to force myself to leave. The feeling of peace is palpable, and so comforting. Too bad it's way too expensive for me to afford, but now I have to go there at least once a week, or I get all twitchy. Yeah, I was pretty borderline agoraphobic, too. I had to start to force myself to go out, and now it's a good, regular habit. IP: Logged |

lol yea!!! my fav places:my home, the library(or somewhere else stucked up with books ))) and the beach! ...i was a very popular person in my teens and i swirled around different communities...interacted quite alot, but i got very exhausted.the life i live now is back to basics and not so much interference from outside, which is good !!!the book about saturn also said, that the oppsoite house to where saturn is in,is the main focus...till we realize that its not worth the effort.in other words that peope put lots of energy in fulfilling the 6th house, before theyr realize they should be simply at bliss...and it fits me perfectly!it took me some years to become blissful simply by being myself, without me wanting to overrule my true beingIP: Logged |

I have to confess, I'm probably one of the few 12th house sun people who feels worse in recluse. Admittedly, I need to retreat from the public from time to time but only because it is physically literally draining for me to be around people or other stimuli and then I need some time on my own to "recharge" my batteries. After recharging myself, it doesn't take me all too long to venture into the public again. I just cannot live without human contact. I absolutely need it.Pretty funny for someone who is highly sensitive, though. I often blame my 7th house moon for my need to be around others, to venture into the world around me (probably supported by both the moon's and the 7th house's position in Gemini for the absolute need for social contact). Also, with the Placidus and Topocentric house systems, my sun while technically still in 12th house (and Saturn as well, seeing as they are less than 1 degree conjunct) would be on the cusp of 11th. I swear, my need for social contact feels almost like an addiction: it's not good for me, but I can't live without. Thank you, sun in 12th! ------------------ [Insert catchy signature here.] IP: Logged |

i have my mercury conjunct pluto+lilith in the first house around 20degrees,and this trait makes it for me also necessairy to get in contact with others....at times it seems i cant avoid it,and at times it seems i am doing not what my ego wants me to do,but rather i follow the silent voice within that tells me to be close with someone i do not even know yet.mostly i am to deliver some kind of message to those that come close to me,for some reason it feels like i am a messenger whether i like ti or not, maybe here is something operating by my side to give me these certain kind of impulses¿i have always felt that my responsibility in life is reletaed to important messages that i need to deliver.actually i am very sensitive and always see through the veils, maybe thats more of the 12th house flavor, while my first house communcation makes others to notice me and my messages,i often hear that i give inspiration=first house stelliumIP: Logged |
