I actually don't have anything in my 12th house.. and that alone is a mystery to me lol. My 12th house is Saggitarius and strangely; I act in a way like a Sag in terms of philosophical and defensiveness. I am really nice and I rarely make enemies but that's because I am quiet ,well was, i'm coming out of that shell and telling what I think about things more but I still don't like causing conflicts. That's the only thing that kept me from speaking mymind in the past that and I am/was very introverted and secretive. I still am but not to the extent I was lol. I always have been intune with otherwordly things and taken a love for things that people don't like talking about. Like the occult, I loved ghost stories and always was researching and still do; this could also be due to my Sun,Chiron, and Mercury being in the 8th House Virgo.

Descendant- Cancer
Sun-Virgo
Moon-Aries
Mercury-Virgo
Venus-Libra
Rising-Capricorn
Mars-Cancer
Jupiter-Scorpio
Saturn-Pisces

@Teasel: That's not morbid at all! Losing a four legged friend is tough. I'd be quite a wreck if that happens to me again, but I've got to give you credit: if I buried my dog I don't know how I'd find it in me to be far away from his resting place. I would probably have ALOT of trouble moving on.

And yeah, I'm not that way anymore (agoraphobic) because cabin fever wins out these days. I can still sit in my room for hours reading, watching movies, surfing the net, etc. but when I need to get out of the house, I need to get out....usually the destination in the winter is Barnes&Noble, and in the summer, its Topsail Island.

and on Being Human, I bawled my eyes out at the finale. I knew they had to do it someway (due to Aidan going to NZ to shoot that film) but it was still bittersweet. I'm a little mad with what happened to his character leading up to the last curtain call though, because to me he was just so out of character. But nonetheless, he was still good and it was still worth the watch.

And what do you think of this? If Annie represents the 12th house, Mitchell is definitely the 8th house, and George is the 4th house. That show had a very obvious water triplicity going on and I think that's why I love them all so much.

@CosmicKarma: I was up finding all these great bands and acts from the 90's (especially the Ska bands) and I was thinking....what the hell happened to music? And yessss, I absolutely am obsessed with two things: going to the Blueridge (and I'm not talking about to the ski resorts) and going to Sheffield Island ( a place in Eastern Carolina where I'm told where you can find wild horses roaming). Nature is one of the most magical places to be in, honestly, and its a pretty damn good reason to get out of the house more. And I've never been out West so I've never seen a Canyon but I *have* seen pictures and it looks gorgeous. Lucky you.

@Lucie: I guess should be more grateful to live a more minimalist existence (less stress to the Virgo Moon) but that pesky 7th house Sun wants company at times...even when I don't need it. That's interesting what that book says about the opposite house to saturn`because sometimes I feel like too much emphasis on the everyday things over what truly matters to me. Though I would also say that sometimes its neccesary to take care of the 6th house before I can bask in the 12th. Like, I need a clean room before I can fully 'retreat' into it. Ya know what I'm sayin?

Aya_and_baby: I actually have a similar problem...I'm a 7th house sun and an Air Venus. LOL Though I feel better when I retreat, I still sometimes *want* to be in the company of other people. And I'm not talking superficially, I am a watersun afterall, but more like *belonging* somewhere. So I have this "fight" between my sun being in a social house and my 12th house stellium, along with my private 8th house Virgo Moon. the latter two are always winning out, which makes my 7th house Sun and Air Venus feel a bit lonely at times. *sigh* But when I do get together with people, afterwards I feel totally naked and exposed...like I've revealed too much. sheesh. I know two 7th house Mooners, one of them happens to be my sister...placed in Gemini. So yes, I have an idea of what you mean by *need of people*. My sister literally becomes morose if she's alone for too long...even with a 4th house Pisces Sun. Its a little heartbreaking to me for some reason, I don't know why. Probably because Ive been so busy I can't spend alot of time with her.

@rigormortisgirl: I also have Sagittarius on the 12th house cusp and I'm starting to realize its an amazing sign to have ruling this area of life. I love getting a feel of other people's philosophy just by reading their books, and there are more frontiers for me than the average person in this modern world. Keep looking into that sign on the 12th house cusp for more insight.

Yeah, I definitely agree since I have planets in the 6th house too. I think the one place I've successfully intergrated them is at my job (hospital).

Saturn in 12th house in Taurus

This Saturn-in-the-twelfth-house page and the entire website are excerpted from You and the Universe, a handmade, individualized fine art book on astrology, mythology and astronomy through which the recipient's complete astrological reading is woven.
When a planet rises in the east it can now be seen - and thus it enters the twelfth house. Just so, our first instances of self-expression that we offer into the world are vulnerable and easily defeated, but the effect of their success or failure on our personality is enormous. Pulling some of our energy back into our self to keep it from being defeated or overwhelmed has two results. If we are aware of what we are doing, it becomes our hidden secret. If this process is unconscious, it becomes a rejected aspect of the self. These secrets or repressed aspects of the self form the classical interpretation of the twelfth house.
But what if the immature energy we put into the world isn’t defeated early on? Then it can become a source of strength and a dominant aspect of our personality, and even signify our career. The twelfth house is thus where we build inner strength to overcome limitations, sorrows and fears, and where the individual adapts to the collective. It signifies self-undoing: where we stand in our own way, where we are not free to let ourselves become and be who we essentially already are. It also represents that which is hidden, karma, limitation, confinement, prison, betrayal, sacrifice, hospitals and institutions, nuns and priests, secrets and secret enemies (who may just be rejected aspects of ourselves), initiation, ultimate understanding, and charity given or received.
Astronomically speaking, the twelfth house is that one-twelfth sector of the local sky just above the eastern horizon (see above picture) occupied by planets during the two hours after they rise.
With Saturn in the twelfth house, you may have an unrecognized fear of discipline, structure, or limitations of any form, for they feel binding or constricting in some nebulous way. If so, this can stand in the way of your fulfilling your goals and objectives. Your own unconscious fears - which you incorrectly interpret as being threatened by others - cause you to retreat and to seek solitude. This placement can also indicate a self-centeredness that has to be dissolved through service, suffering, or personal sacrifice. You're attracted to psychology, the human psyche, and the mystical and religious, as well as careers that involve isolation or solitude.
If Saturn is within 10° of the first house cusp it is conjunct the ascendant and much of the above interpretation starts to become weaker. If Saturn is in the twelfth house AND within 4° or 5° of the ascendant, then it is said to be on the "dark side" of the first house, and it influence will be felt in the first as well as in the twelfth house. The closer a twelfth house Saturn is to the ascendant, the more it will be interpreted as though it were in the first house; when less than 3° from the ascendant, a twelfth house Saturn expresses itself primarily -- and eventually entirely -- in the first house

Saturn in the 12th....makes me too aware of limitations. It could be part of my Cap Rising, but I'm hypertuned to things like "time" and "constraints". Toll and droll.

Sag/12th house cusp: I wish I was Tony Bourdain's personal assistant sometimes. I want to see different places and eat new cuisines. meh.

You got 12th house Sun ? Would you care to share more abt its experience. I have got it too. And ppl call me sweet too. Then one fine day when i have had too much of ppl walking over me i draw the line which can be shocking.

not exactly sure what it means, probably an even more enhanced need for privacy or something like that. (and that would be true.)

and maybe the feeling of being misunderstood quite often. i would also add complicated communication - like feeling and "knowing" a lot of things but not being able to put that through.

i sort of got used to it though. it's getting easier and easier to handle as you understand it more.

I have a scorpio sun too in the 12th alongwith Neptune. Does that make things worse? I mean addition of Neptune to sun in this house that too with Scorpio sign. I have a very vivid imagination. I wonder whether it could be because of this (Neptune in 12th). Does this lead to a lot of blurriness specially with sun (less ego) and scorpio (transformation).

well, i'm still no expert, but i would say, it's even more pisces-like. i sometimes wonder why i identify so much with the emotional side of pisces - maybe the 12th house sun is the answer. in your case, it's probably even more pronounced.

also, tell me a bit about having a vivid imagination, please. what does that mean precisely? i always read that and try to figure out how it manifests itself in everyday life.
are you a daydreamer (nothing wrong with it, just asking )? or what does it do that others could possibly find strange about you?

personally i'm not particularly creative unfortunately, and i think creative and imaginative are strongly related. i can get lost in my thoughts though and i'm VERY sentimental and nostalgic.

Ah! Yes, me too. I can really kick it when I need to, particularly if I feel someone is trying to walk over me, because they think I'm a "pushover." Um... Not as much as they think!

Not sure about the whole "sweet" thing. Just something I hear from people about myself. Like after meeting the parents of a friend of mine, my friend said her parents thought I was "so sweet." Also, I've worked a lot in retail sales, and one of my co-workers told me that some customers said I was "very sweet." Stuff like that.

My saturn is my Chart ruler so I have almost the same effect on people once they get to know me. Then they make the mistake of thinking I'm their damn footman. Like everyone from dayshift who thinks I'm always available when they don't want to work.

And sometimes, its like everyone knows I've arrived...and other times, its like I never stepped into the room. It happened to me last week with the girl I sit right next to! She was like "Oh, I didn't even know you were here!". Wow. Then again, it could also be my Virgo Moon. Not exactly a 'noticeable' placement.

Yeah, I get that too, but I am a fairly quiet person.

By any chance, does your Saturn conjunct your Moon?

as a virgo moon myself, i don't necessarily agree. even with my strong scorpio influences. but it may be that i'm not typical.
i would rather say, i LIKE to be not noticed, most of the time. observing is my forte

@Carl: I was looking for something that would lead to a 'mind that just won't go to sleep'. What sign/planet rules your 3rd house and what does it do in your chart?

@Cosmic: nah, my Saturn's in Sag/12th and my moon's in Virgo...and they make no aspect with eachother.

@ecomat: Hmmm, I've always seen my moon as a low-key placement. I do want to blend in with others, but I'm not good with being the center of attention. Maybe you have your in the 10th, or some fire influence? My moon sits in the 8th house which pretty much intensifies my need not to be "spotlighted". *edit* Oh wait, I misread...but I do know what you mean now. I think plutonic energy gets noticed anyways, so maybe its the strong Scorpio influence that gets people's attention. Or maybe, again....prominent 10th house?

Ami Anne
could you clarify why it is one of the hardest things to deal with or give the link?
As I have a book by maurice fernandez which is about how influential 12th house people are, they are frequently successful and in top positions, here is the link www.mauricefernandez.com
I spent yesterday reading up on his book on 12th house, pisces and neptune and came away feeling really positive about it.

He seems to agree with marjorie orr that the gloomy assignings to 12th house are from ancient days. There are also the findings that 9th and 12th houses are areas of very successful activity (on another thread this was discussed).

!

ME TOO. I complain about this in my head a lot.

I have Mars in Gem in the 12th ruled by Taurus...things I get told most:

"I don't think you realize it but... you come off really rude!" That's funny, because everyone constantly tells me how sweet I am.

"You need confidence! Where's your 'Yes, I can!' attitude!" I have it, I just don't go throwing it around.

"Oh, you're SO sweet!"
"That was so sweet of you!"
"How thoughtful!"
HOW???

Perhaps these people that call us "sweet" just happen to be the ones who need us most in that instant, so we appear a lot sweeter, nice, gentle than we are. Something that just occurred to me is how some have said the 12th house is a blindspot. So those of us who have Mars in the 12th... maybe that would translate into other people not being able to see our aggressive, masculine side but we walk around secretly feeling that way?!

Angelina Jolie, Rihanna, Madonna, all very successful people with 12th house placements. There is a long, long list of successful politicians too so its not all doom and gloom in the 12th house.
