Always on the outside-looking-in? Fading into the scenery? Peers reluctant to acknowledge you? People reluctant to be around you? Or are you just feeling shafted by your boss after covering her @ss for 2+ years? Come right in and name your 12th house condition!

Very much so, at times. More so in the past, but it still happens - you'll think everything's fine, and then the rug is pulled out from under you, and it's right back to those feelings. It reminds me of why I pulled back in the first place, and didn't push myself through feelings of agoraphobia, even though I wanted to get better. It's nice when you finally gel with good people. When I was in a bad way late last year, it didn't really hit me at first, that several people were standing up for me in a situation - it took a while to sink in, and my defensiveness was in overdrive, because I was tired of the *ahem* hitting the fan. With most people, I felt out of place here (at LL) for years, even with the topics discussed here. I could only hang around when I didn't feel that so strongly, and I was fighting a huge amount of social anxiety at the time. Uranus in the 12th, conjunct ascendant. Pluto might be there, depending on the house system used, and Saturn is transiting it right now. IP: Logged |

Oh, I watch Being Human! The English version. I didn't look at the picture, at first.I think some people pick up on my reluctance to have attention thrown my way, and others just think I'm weird, because I don't fit their definition of normal - or I'm just seen as a rather boring freak, because they don't know me. Are you having a bad time of it? IP: Logged |

How'd you know? ALL of the above applies to me! At some point or another, I've hit all those points. Sun, Jupiter and Mars in the 12th house. Always accused of being "shy and quiet". Accused of being "timid," until someone gets my Aires up. Then all that timidness changes in a big hurry. One thing I hear a lot from people when they first meet me is that I'm "sweet". I've heard that since I was a kid, but I have no idea what they're talking about. Think it might have something to do with 12th house Sun.

I have a 12th house stellium. It's a struggle to feel at ease around people. I try my best. On good days when I have good transits, I communicate well and feel socially at ease and blend in. On bad days, such as when I'm tired or just want to retreat to being alone, is when I don't even want to talk. Talking seems to take a lot of energy from me and takes effort. Mercury in 12th, probably has to do with it. Sun in my 12th house probably affects my self-esteem, but I try to have good self-efficacy and belief in my self. My fixed nature helps a lot though. Ah, and yes, I get that I am shy and timid a lot. Obviously it's because I really am shy. I can be outwardly blunt due to my Mercury in Taurus opposite my Scorpio Moon, but I am still very shy and soft on the inside. IP: Logged |

I LOVE BEING HUMAN (The British Version). Annie is like the metaphor for my 12th house stellium. I'm still emo over the fact that Mitchell is gone though.
I'll respond to all of you later when Im not at work, I just had to get that out there.

Teasal, you said this perfectly for myself. Except my biggest issue is trust and right now I'm going through an experience, that once again cements my first inclination to believe no one should ever be trusted. The one person that isn't immediate family, that I had no qualms about watching my son...I spent my day talking to the police and filing reports with them and at the courthouse. Son of a ***** . I don't know if my 12th house has anything to do with it. Saturn r in aries, chiron r in arises and moon in pisces. IP: Logged |

Hes very outgoing and fun to be around and hes usually the life of the party. Anywherehe goes people attract to him and he loves attention allthough he hates crowds at the same time ... @Heartless: Have you read up on the planets and the sign on the cusp of your 12th house? The 12th house is still a big mystery to even alot of astrologers. I don't we'll ever logically grasp the 12th house (or the 8th and 4th) which ironically makes sense since it is a water house. Oh, and I totally agree that Lenora (Miss Cap) is sexayyy. Amazing actress too. Teasel: Yeah, I am having a hard time of it. My sister thinks its a Quarter life Crisis, and maybe that is some of it...but the themes are so 12th (as usual). The natural instinct is to retreat when you feel vulnerable, as I do now. The only group I haven't pulled away from are my co-workers and it makes sense since the hospital is a very 12th house place, and maybe those people are probably astrological kindred spirits. But everywhere else it seems you always fall out of the nitch and in the end, you ask where you belong while everyone else has found their group. Anyways, I totally understand why you'd want to pull away. Its awkward when people are always discussing things that don't resonate at all, and it always seems like you have to *try* much harder to be normal, while its so effortless for everyone else. And you're right: people somehow sense that and they have some 'interesting' reactions to it. Every psychic I've been to says I'm pretty much swirling with emotional energy...probably everything I pick up from everyone else. Maybe what I'm feeling is not even my own sh#t...that wouldn't be a first. haha.
CosmicKarma: Its always interesting for me to meet someone with fire energy (especially sun) in the 12th. Because superficially, I could say they're a very mellow Leo, Aries, Sag, etc. But really, I get the feeling its almost like their ego is "dissolved" or these are traits they hide because they are afraid how others may react to them. How do you think of it? Anyways, I'm sorry you're feeling the 12th house blues too! The energy seems to complicated to intergrate into normality (LOL is that a word?) it seems. I was thinking maybe that was part of it being the polar opposite of the 6th house but at the core, the 6th and the 12th have very similar issues IMO.

TrueTaurus: I can sort of relate to that. There are a few instances when its also almost effortless for me to blend in and feel at ease around a group of other people. Maybe I should be checking the transits that day, or taking notice of their influences in relationship to my chart. And yeah, I've noticed anytime mercury is influenced by neptune/12th...speech gets bogged down or people just don't get your message. But creative writing is always a great outlet since mercury influenced by neptune or the 12th seems to make easy access to the collective unconscious. Atleast in my experience. Ami Anne: yeah, it doesn't have the most "sugary" things attached to it...plus its collective. So you aren't just carrying your guilt, pain, sorrows....but also everyone on the block. =__= Sometimes it seems like everyone else is projecting their own garbage onto us so they don't have to deal with it, and that's why they subconsciously steer clear...particularly those who are not very intuitive.
Pisces moon: Wow, whatever it is that has happened I hope your son is okay! I'm sorry for whatever has happened.
Lioness: the 12th and 6th house have more in common than you think. =D I also have stuff in the 6th...mercury, chiron, and Juno. A life of servitude, imagination, and crafting. Both houses seem to carry the theme of underappreciation for the people who have them heavy in their charts.
piscpis: Hmmm, what sign are those 12th house planets in? Does he have other planets in social houses (5th, 7th, 10th, 3rd?)? It sounds like an energy contradiction in his chart. I would know because I have almost the same dilemma. You see, while I have all this hidden 12th house energy, my sun is in the 7th and my Venus is in the 5th. Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum. I want company, but its almost like I prevent myself from having it for many reasons.
hmmm: You're right...solitude is great as a regenerating process! It just seems bad when you want to belong, and you....can't. And maybe it is subconscious on our parts: being around many people is like a sensory overload and the natural instinct is to retreat.
Carl: Wow, even with Neptune at home in the 12th? Are either of those planets afflicted?

@ benidict moon his sun and northnode are in aries and his moon and venus are in taurus ... All in the 12th house. He has jupiter and mercury in his 11 th house which is in pisces and in his 7th he has saturn and uranus In sag ... All the discriptions i have read and have heard about 12th house placements ... Especially having sun placed there (being kinda shy, low self esteem .... Hahaha NOT ! He is one of the most confident and slightly arrogant person i have ever met. And ive seen his birth certificate so i know the time is accurate lol 12th house descriptions dont match up when it comes to him ... Unless all his aroogance n confidence is just kinda like a front and the real way he feels about himself is "hiding" in some sorta way.IP: Logged |

Hmmm, huge 12th house here, starting at 16° Pisces, closing in Aries and finally ending at 13° Taurus.Aries is packed with Pallas, Lilith, Vesta, Jupiter, Chiron. Likewise, 6th house, starting in Virgo, closing in Libra, ending in Scorpio Moon (Virgo), Pluto (Libra), Vertex (Libra), Uranus (Scorpio) fall in there. Still a bit unsure about the closed in signs, but I have the feeling being able to "live" that Aries/Mars energy inside the 12th had a positive effect on my Gemini Mars.

I have 12th house venus in leo. I often find myself in the spotlight, no matter how much I don't want to be! I get anxious in large groups, but I put on a brave face. People assume that I'm extremely confident & I'm shocked every time I'm asked to "say a few words" at a large event. This seems to happen at meetings, funerals, etc. At times I'm what I guess you would call a "reluctant leader", as in, I get voted to be in charge, when I all is want is to blend in. I couldn't say if all of this is due to my 12th house placement, or my 1st house pluto (maybe others have more faith in my leadership abilities than I do myself?) IP: Logged |

Leadership is always an angular/cardinal issue so I'm pretty sure your 1st house pluto is involved. 12th house Venus and perhaps other mutable placements make you feel otherwise though...like you wouldn't be able to do it. @piscpis: that's interesting since I've always read of the 12th house sun being the "ego dissolved". Maybe he recieves alot of supporting aspects to that sun, and the other placements. What about his Mars?

Hey, hey... Huh... "ego dissolved". Wow, don't know about that one. I have a good-sized chunk of Taurus in my chart, which may dilute a lot of Aries energy to begin with. I definitely feel no desire or need to be the center of attention at all. Not in any way. It feels horrible to have the spotlight on me, even if it's something good. I can't stand it. Several people have guessed that I'm Pisces when they first meet me, and are shocked to find out I'm Aries Sun. Later, they do see a lot of Aries in me, but I do come off first as either Pisces, or Taurus (my rising). Over the years, I have worked on the Taurus side, so I am more patient than the usual Aries. At least now. Not when I was younger though. I guess maybe at first meeting, the House energy comes forward (Pisces), then afterward, the Sun energy (Aries). If that makes sense.

CosmicKarma:Hmmmm, maybe "dissolved" is too strong a word...ummm, I guess I mean diluted? Anyways, what I mean is that it wouldn't be as purely expressed as it would be if it were in say...the 1st or 5th? And its probably for any number of reasons. I've heard everything from situational low self-esteem to just having that spiritual angle that the 12th house gives (Gandhi had this placement too). And yes, I've known quite a few Ariens with strong Taurus energy and they usually are pretty mellow folks to be around. IP: Logged |
