what might it mean to have this aspect, sesquiquadrature between mercury and neptune? would it mean that sometimes being honest is a challenge? I am not very good with minor aspects. any insight would be great.IP: Logged |

I've got moon sesquiquadrate neptune, alice portman describes them here...or at least the aspect. It creates tension in some form or another, it indicates that the planets in question irritate one another. I know you probably don't have a thors hammer but she talks about the sesquiquadrate. http://aliceportman.com/?p=780 or zane stein http://www.zanestein.com/AstrologyFAQs.html#aspects

This is how I understand sesquiquadrates :The sesquisquare/sesquiquadrate/trioctile 135 degree aspect between two planets in your chart is indicative of the area of life in which you are determined to act energetically without a clear understanding of what the consequences of your actions will be. This excessive drive to proceed without balancing your will to succeed against the requirements of others that you may be affecting, or understanding of how society at large views the matter, is annoying to others. You may make excuses to justify your behavior and blow facts out of proportion, but your way forward will be blocked until such time as you learn to slow down and curb whatever behavior is overly excessive and preventing you from participating in synch with the rest of the world. You badly need to slow down and formulate an awareness of how society and others work in this area, and stop bulldozing your way forward. Once you learn to overcome your resistance to slowing down and adjusting your approach, your energy can be used to produce positive results, accompanied by a real transformation in your approach which takes into account your responsibilities and obligations to others and society at large. Alice Portman makes a point of saying how this aspect can produce excessive criticism from others. Which is interesting given what you just wrote. The reason it gets criticism is because of the fact that the aspect couldn't give 2p for what others think....it isn't bound by convention. Society always sees this kind of energy as a threat so it seeks to contain it. The way to get away with any frowned upon behaviour that results from the sesquiquadrate is to utilise the other aspects that are connected to it. If you have a trine or a sextile to one of the planets involved then the talent or ability it shows will help to offset any criticism received from the general public. IP: Logged |

Yes, I think you are right. That you will be in for a lot of criticism from the outside and there will be a lot of pressure to conform. My interpretation for the Mercury sesquisquare Neptune aspect (for seelah) is something like this : You have a very strong imagination and tend to dream up a lot of ideas which you are quite outspoken about, and you really want to see them happen. These usually end up being blocked from becoming reality either because they do not conform to society’s standards of what is acceptable, or because they put you into conflict with others because you fail to take their needs into account. Consequently, you do not get much support as others may find your aspirations unrealistic or unacceptable. You may find that they become annoyed or critical when you try to express them, especially when you do so forcefully. Try to slow down in your approach, and consider the implications of how what you want impacts on the lives of other people. This is not easy, because you may have a natural resistance to slowing down – but the benefit is that it will prevent you from becoming overbearing or domineering in your approach, and this will facilitate your success in the long run.
