Would venus opposite ascendant make someone not aware of their own beauty. My sister has horrible confidence she has insane expectations for her self. Its not realistic. She has a sun in pisces moon in taurus mercury is in aries which conjuncts her venus. Her venus in aries also conjuncts her mars in aries. Her ascendant is in libra is opposite her venus mars. Wouldn't these aspects make her actually really confident and feisty? Also her venus and mars conjuncts her descendant. Its really sad because her lack in confidence is holding her back. IP: Logged |

I think it depends. I have Venus in Leo conjunct the Descendant in a tight opposition to my Aquarius Ascendant. I'm a Libra and Venus is the ruler of my Sun and having it in Leo makes me a bit vain. I've always been into my appearance, and personally think I'm gorgeous . However I don't fish for compliments nor do I need them and when people compliment me on my appearance or beauty I'm always caught off guard. I'm a suspicious person so I don't like compliments too much but I am very secure with my body and appearance and quite pleased.I don't think this aspect leads to poor self esteem, but I guess this goes beyond astrology. I think this aspect might actually make somebody popular with the masses, but maybe they might not see it because of other things going on in the chart. Venus Opposite Ascendant "With Venus in opposition to your Ascendant, you may be blessed with many social graces. You're quite comfortable around other people, and may enjoy time spent with companions. Your determination to gain acceptance and to improve your status in life is strong, and you may use your social contacts to reach those positions. Of course, that's how it's done in life, but you do need to watch a tendency to use people just because of their status. Developing relationships from a purely honest perspective is quite possible for you since you do appreciate what others have to offer. You must also learn to appreciate what you bring into any situation as well." http://cafeastrology.com/natal/venusascendantaspects.html That's unfortunate for your sister. She's got good things going on in her chart, and having this aspect and Libra Rising adds grace and charisma. IP: Logged |

i have venus opposing my ascendant and i do, at times, have self esteem issues. but i think it contributes to other factors of my chart too. cause my moons in virgo and i have my sun/mars/merc in the 6th house. plus i have heavy hard aspects from saturn. IP: Logged |

Definitely check what is going on with your Sis's Saturn. Venus opp Asc alone won't make one lose self-esteem. Also, check chiron... IP: Logged |

No, self-esteem issues would be more like Saturn aspecting the sun, moon, or maybe even Venus. I'm thinking something like the conjunction or square, specifically. IP: Logged |
