I just left a message through the "contact us" link about the missing posts... I really hope they can find them. The glitches in Lindaland are ruining this thread! Which is a shame, because Ceridwen and I have put so much thought into it.

Lotis White,

you beat me to it.
And yes, I find it pretty annoying, especially with this thread, as it is very close to my heart and mind.

I need to rethink what I wrote to you.

Let`s try this again.

" seeing as my Dsc ruler is conjunct my own Asc…. Perhaps this emphasizes the ‘Sagittariusness’ of my taste."
I think that is definitely the case. And since you have quite a personal planets in Sagittarius and Mars in Leo, it does not clash with your overall personality.

" but it sextiled my 5th house ruler Mars in Leo, and was opposed my EP…. "
That is interesting. How significant do you think is the sextile?

"while the aspects to our house rulers, from others, show how actual CHEMISTRY is experienced… "
Yes. Absolutely.

"any aspect to my Dsc ruler Mercury at 22 degrees of Sag,"
Isn`t it interesting that we have a Mercury-Mercury-conjunction, which is both our DESC-ruler and we are talking and analyzing relationships here?

"n squares work (although this is not always pleasant)…."
Yes. It´s interesting. Though squares are not very compatible, they can actually be signs of strong attraction.
I think that attraction scenario happens more when it involves the sexual planets Venus and Mars and Pluto as well as the ruler of 5th and 8th house.

But if the squares involve Moon, IC, ruler of 4th house or Venus (and certain squares to Venus), it usually is not that attractive, but rather painful, and often incompatible. Maybe because these are such vulnerable energies, and when it comes to emotional connections most people need confirmation rather than friction, while a certain friction in sexual relations might be quite a "turn on", though in the long run it may still prove incompatible.

Or how do you see these things?

Just bumping this thread to let you know I’ll be back again soon. Sigh, I guess those lost posts really are lost.

Lotiswhite,

I´ve made this handy check-list for myself. What do you think?

0. "true aspects":
aspects that appear both in the longitudes and declinations

1. general orientation
A. basic identity, usually directed outwards:
---------------------------------------------
Sun, ASC, ruler of ASC

B. emotional identity, usually about internal processes, too
----------------------------
Moon, IC, ruler of IC

3. relationship orientation

A. romantic partnership:
--------------------------
Venus, DESC, ruler of DESC

B. sexual chemistry
----------------------
mars, ruler of 5th house, ruler of 8th house
(though the 8th house is more intimate than the other two)

3. platonic relations

A. communication, shared goals and friendship
---------------------------------
Mercury, ruler of 3rd house, ruler of 11th house

B.workrelations, direction in life
------------------------------------
MC, ruler of 10th house, ruler of 6th house

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. "Fatedness"
A. Karma
-----------
SN, ruler of 12th house

B. Fatedeness
NN, Vertex

5. Intensifiers

A. Jupiter - Saturn
B. Uranus - (Chiron?)
C. Neptune - Pluto

----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------

Yes. It´s interesting. Though squares are not very compatible, they can actually be signs of strong attraction.

Ceridwen,

Oh, the Mercury/Mercury conjunction… especially being the ruler of our Dsc’s, defiantly do feel like they are about a mutual interest ’relationships’ and what brings them about. Yes.

Yes, Sextiles to me are quite powerful, especially if they are under 3 degrees in orb. They are mildly exciting, in that they do seem to involve quite a bit or activity, and often involve lots of fun communication. Kind of like at a party where everyone is getting along and there is lots of banter, joking around, flirting, and silly gossip. Nothing too dramatic usually happens with Sextiles, and things usually go smoothly….the first Sextile in the zodiac occurs in the sign of Gemini and Sextiles do seem to have quite a Gemini quality to them…. The a light and mild, easygoing, communicative, and active in a smooth flowing kind of way…

Likewise the 1st square occurs in the sign of Cancer…. Which can explain why squares can be so painful on an emotional level at times. They can cause us to question our selves, and perhaps experience some insecurity and self-doubt until we are able to summon the courage overcome our blockages and confront an issue. Natal Squares can be quite poignant, and can often feel like a tragic flaw that we are quite touché about….. Of course a lot also depends on which planets are squaring

I definitely feel you have point about square Synastry…

A Venus/Mars square, or a Venus /Pluto square may be quite passionate in an intriguing sort of way… but something like Mars or Saturn square Moon, or Saturn square Venus…. Could be just downright intolerable… especially if there is nothing to compensate for it…. For example, if two people have Moon trine Moon, and also shear a particularly painful square to the Moon from Saturn or Mars, they may be able to handle it a lot better, then if they didn’t have the Moon/Moon trine. Same thing for Venus, if Venus were square to Saturn but also trine to the Sun, and sextile Mars in synastry, the other aspects may help compensate for the square. Some would probably apply for the 4th house and 7th house ruler…. I could imagine something like Saturn square the 7th house ruler as having an ’ouch’ factor to it too…. Like your style of relating is rejected for some reason….

Wow, Ceridwen, you really do have a talent for making astro-relating lists! I’ll be back soon about this too.

Would you count a sextile with an orb of 3°05 between two Venus(es)?

"They are mildly exciting, in that they do seem to involve quite a bit or activity, and often involve lots of fun communication. Kind of like at a party where everyone is getting along and there is lots of banter, joking around, flirting, and silly gossip."
I like that description!
So the difference to a trine would be, that a trine is more calm and complacent, more "cushion-like", and the sextile is somehow like a bouncing-communication-ball-aspect?
Do you know what I mean with that strange expression?

"I definitely feel you have point about square Synastry…"
I read an interesting thing about the Sun-Venus-square in Dawn Bodrogi`s blog:

"However, with the square, the Sun may shed a light on any Venus ‘issue’ the other person might have (the easier aspects are more likely to let things ride)–and it’s necessary to go back to the natal chart and see what kind of condition Venus is in to know what that might be."
http://theinnerwheel.com/2010/03/17/synastry-q-a-sun-contre-venus-and-the-nice-war/

(The funny thing was that I had just been looking at a synastry with a DW of Sun-Venus-square, and when I looked closer it occured to me that of course my Venus is square Pluto natally, while his Venus opposes his Pluto.
Actually his Sun sitting on my IC and his Pluto sitting on my MC squaring my Venus. I found that very interesting (I just coincidentally stumbled across that; it is simply a "celebrity-synastry" and I was just curious about how the chat of that guy might look, and then it turned out that not only we had that same Venus-Pluto- "issue" natally, but his Moon is also in Sagittarius, conjunct my Mars-ASC-Neptune-NN. Crazy! I guess we really have antennas for people that "possibly" trigger important natal constellations, even if we never meet them. I got to think about that actor-thing a bit more deeply as it comes up so often for me. Actually I had looked at all the charts of the male actors from "Big Bang Theory" and it turned out that they ALL had their Venus either square or trine to my Sun or Moon. Three times to my Moon; three times a square. Only one had a trine to my Moon, and his Moon falling onto my Venus, while my Venus is trine his Sun; the other aspect that occurred in all four synastries was their Jupiter sextile my Mars, and in one case his Mars was also conjunct my Jupiter - that was the one with the Venus-Moon trine/conjunction and Venus-Sun-trine).

"A Venus/Mars square, or a Venus /Pluto square may be quite passionate in an intriguing sort of way… but something like Mars or Saturn square Moon, or Saturn square Venus…. Could be just downright intolerable… especially if there is nothing to compensate for it…."
Yes, totally agree with this one.

"ow, Ceridwen, you really do have a talent for making astro-relating lists! I’ll be back soon about this too. "
Lol
The only problem is that I am never really satisfied. I guess I will be back with a new one in a few weeks.

But these lists help me to not delude myself about where the real emphasis is.
