In astrology, the 2nd and 3rd house are said to describe our voices - be they speaking, singing, or simply our inner voices.Not surprisingly, the voice is more frequently associated with the 3rd House, whose natural ruler is Mercury/Gemini. However, the 2nd House, whose natural ruler is Venus/Taurus is also said to relate to the voice because of Taurus' rulership over the vocal chords. How does this dynamic play out for you? What kind of voice do you have? Does a planet you have in the 2nd or 3rd House affect this? Does it make any aspects to other planets? My 3rd House contains the Sun, Mars and Uranus. I have been told, and also believe, that I have a voice that attracts attention (Sun), can be extremely loud and aggressive (Mars), but above all, one that is is identifiable within seconds (Uranus/unique). Busy 3rd Houses tend to talk a lot. On the other hand, I'm a singer. I attribute this to Mercury/Venus/Pluto (voice/art/passion) in 2nd House. I don't feel these energies when speaking, but these planetary archetypes are definitely felt when singing. Leads me to believe 2nd House may be singing voice, and 3rd House may be speaking voice. 2nd House Neptune, Sag
3rd House Moon in Aqua (Cappie in most of house)Perhaps unrelated? Scorp Asc and 7th House Venus in Taurus. I voice is pretty deep for a woman. It's been described to me as "not masculine, but 'deeply' feminine". I can be quite talkative with a sense of humor alternating between very dry and very "punny".

I have got Cap / Aqua Cusp in 2nd house
and Aqua/ Pisces in 3rd . It is unique and I have my own style. I have been told it is pretty sweet and have been asked not to sing only in the shower. I have been writing original songs from last 5 years and is in the process to record my first song.I do not like the idea of singing like Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey although I admire their vocals. I think I would like the songs to be simple so that anyone can sing.

I have a mercury venus pluto stellium in my 1st house. I have 3rd house capricorn and neptune just falling into the beginning of that house.I'm a musician and I was told I have a nice singing voice. Not necessarily girly and thin but definitely a nice womanly alto soprano. I've also been told that my voice has a strong projection...whatever that means!! IP: Logged |

I have mercury in Aries, retrograde...that's conjunct my sun and moon in Aries. Bah, I get told I'm too aggressive, make generalizations, too political or politically incorrect, too harsh and too blunt- but also painfully honest. Well, most people enjoy it actually for some reason and it has attracted numerous friends.I have second house in pisces, and third house in Aries (I don't know if it's relevant, but my sun in Aries is in 3rd house)...
So communication and "self expression" kindof rules my life and personality. You could say I never shut up, and am too blunt, realistic and opinionated- but at the same time with the soft, super feminine and girly pisces voice (I get told I sound like a preppy girl from so-cal) and often "talk too softly" so people talk over me. I guess I can be enigmatic or elusive at times with my speech. It's pretty contradictory because the sound of my voice DOES NOT match my communication style. IP: Logged |

I have a voice that sounds pretty confident and clear supposedly.
And I've also been told I have a loud voice and that it can be girly but changes tone frequently?

My voice sounds young - it's not at all deep, but not pitchy either. I have a calm voice - I always sound younger than I am though. The only times I don't sound young - are when I actually practice intentionally beforehand - for instance when I give a presentation.Also, I don't know if this is because of my Taurus Venus.. but I find it very easy to do a sexy voice LoL  My 2nd house cusp is Cancer and 3rd house cusp is Leo.
No planets in those houses - only Pallas in Cancer.

Super interesting... Off the top of my head, Pluto/Scorpio rules my second and Jupiter/ Sagittarius my 3 rd. Pluto is in my H1, Jupiter H5. (Traditional: Mars H9) No planets in H2, Neptune in H3. Mostly my voice is soft but I can change it and work with it easily. I'm a natural singer and very good with accents/ languages. I'm VERY attracted to deep voices and foreign accents. Scorpio rules my second house, and sag rules my 3rd. I have moon in scorpio in the second, and then uranus, neptune, and saturn in cap. in the 3rd.I usually talk quite fast, and have a particular way of structuring my sentences. I put a lot of effort into communication in general and try to insure that every possible subtle nuance of what I am trying to convey is output in my speech. My voice in and of itself doesn't stand out, but the way I talk, does. I believe this comes mostly from my gemini planets though. ------------------

Expressive, boisterous, and excitable!!  But I've noticed when I'm around people who are more outgoing or more extraverted than I, I tend to let them take the lead while I kick back and relax, ahahaha. A VERY LOUD, DISTINCT LAUGH. I have Chiron in Cancer, Mercury conj. Venus in the 11th, and square Saturn and Neptune. I ... HATE the way my voice sounds. My voice sounds very slow and lazy when I hear it on recording devices, also whiny. My mom scarred me from telling long stories to people by constantly making comments about how monotone and boring I was. She thinks she's hysterical. -_- IP: Logged |

I have a nice speaking voice. I've had a few people assume I sing well based on how I sound in conversation. Their assumption is wrong-haha.2nd house cusp is Gemini, third house cusp Cancer-no planets in either but Venus is my chart ruler and is in Libra. IP: Logged |

My 2nd house has my Venus and Pluto in Virgo
My 3rd house is loaded with a stellium of planets in Libra: my Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus. Other people have described my voice as "soft" and "soothing." I guess you don't really know how you sound until someone else tells you, or you listen to a recording of your voice. Speaking of recording, I would love to be able to use all these planets to become a great singer, but I don't really care for my singing voice. ------------------

i get told that i sound like a kid, a kindergartner, a little girl, and spongebob once...lol. I don't think i sound like any of those things but I always get told that!
I feel like i trip over my words a lot when i speak. Like i have so much to say or i'm trying to figure out the best way to say things and they come out strange. I like to sing btw! I'm not a good singer but i took a voice class once and loved that even though i was nervous and didnt sing great. I just like singing its so fun! I can sing along with taylor swift songs! (she sings at talking level so its easy). And i can get loud, but most of the time i'm kinda quiet and people don't hear me. I'm not very assertive when it comes to speaking. I liked speech class a lot though. I like feeling authoritative.I have moon conj pluto in 2nd house scorpio and 3rd house sagittarius with mars all by its lonesome there

Very distinctive, sexy, soothing and calming - that is what I've heard. Mars rules my 3rd and is in the 5th...Odd thing: My friends' dads always had something to say about it or had to mock it when I would call their houses was younger...pervs, lol! I could totally charge 99 cents a minute... I also have "perfect pitch" (my brother does also) and uncanny impersonation abilities...I usually end up impersonating people's voices when I tell stories and it just comes out, I have to stop doing that! My 2nd (Neptune) and 3rd house (Mercury) rulers are trine and Mercury is conjunct Venus... IP: Logged |

i got saturn (and nessu) in my 3rd house which is in gemini; i was 8 when they sent me to private tutoring to learn to articulate and speak up. my speech has always been dull, blurry and low-volume.
but my singing voice is loud and clear, perfect pitch. 2nd house starting on 28taurus ending on 17gemini. (empty exept from vesta and varun)IP: Logged |
