Does this person have a strong Neptune and a strong Sagittarius twist to their personality?

Well I don't really know what influence Neptune has so I wouldn't know if they have a Neptune thing going on (but I could Google it!!!) but no I don't see much of a Sag influence at all. They are VERY laid back and very quiet. Not funny, just gentle and pleasant. Bit mysterious actually, elusive too.

You probably won't find that info. You look to Neptune as singleton, then factor in its sign. Combine. Look at what house it's in, what house it rules. Inconjuncts count as aspects too so keep that in mind, tho they are not major, they do influence the chart.

I have Neptune singleton but in Cap. It's also the ruler of my MC and in my 7th. I haven't really embraced Neptune as part of my personality but perhaps I should?

In general singletons make the planet stronger but I'm not sure about the sign.

Never heard of the term singleton before. Does that mean that Neptune is the only planet in Sagittarius in the natal chart?

My bf has a Neptune in Sagittarius. According to Astro.com,

"This placement should produce a generation of extreme idealists. Even with older people, this energy has brought about a religious revival unparalleled in this century. As is characteristic of both Neptune and Sagittarius, most of these religions are sects from other countries such as India, and their teachings are quite foreign to Western tradition. However, there is also a strong Christian revival, especially among the fundamentalist and Pentecostal sects. The children of this time will continue that trend."

As far as the religious revival theme goes, he wants to live a simple, minimalist life oriented toward nature. He talked about building a buckyball as a house, or living in a tree house or a silo, and live in the country. He agrees with me that people are getting too materialistic. With the part of the extreme idealism in the analysis, I get the sense that he is different because he is the youngest of four children.

Close, but a singleton is the only planet in a particular element!

Neptune in Sagittarius would be a singleton if there was no other planets in fire signs Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius.

Thanks for the clarification. Depending on the aspects, wouldn't other signs, especially air signs, enhance the Neptune in Sag singleton? And if there are plenty of planets in water and earth elements, I would think that the Neptune in Sag would conflict with those since the fire element is under balanced. Astrotheme has an excellent page on the elements' balance in natal charts.

^ Probably, yes.
That's why a singleton is considered a very strong influence, because it's the *only* planet in that element, so it's kind of reinforced, because there's no balance.

Neptune singleton I've noticed is very common amongst actors, so I think it's very artistic/creative. But of course, it can also mean dishonesty, addictions, and just a sense of separataness from others and the world.

The fact that he's laid-back, mysterious, etc is not surprising, Neptune isn't really loud. It's more elusive and ethereal, hard to grasp kind of energy. Neptune being in Sag doesn't mean that much to me, except that he may have an interest in religion/philosophy, and the higher things in life.

I think the house it's in would tell you much more about it.
