Very good point.

Ouch.
I still think that we know ourselves better than anyone else though, because people only see us from the outside, they're not in our heads. It can - and usually is - difficult to be very clear about ourselves though, for sure.

I almost said, "You remind me of myself when I was younger" but I guess that would be inappropriate I can relate to some extent to the INFP descriptions, but the thing is that I am very changeable; one day I can be brutally logical and rational and the next day I can be all affectionate and idealistic. It really depends. I don't think I'm a type 6 though! 5 or 9 are the most accurate to me at this point.
Haha.. maybe not TOO inappropriate. But yeah, that's the one thing that's a bit off for me too.. I am rational, at times TOO much so. Can be very analytical. But I've been working on becoming the opposite of that, so I guess I'm succeeding. Hey, that's what's going on.. we're just working on becoming different things! IP: Logged |

I want to highlight this: quote: Originally posted by Ceridwen: I don´t follow social "demands" put on the individual, especially if it is presented with the "but everyone does"-sentence. *shuddering* In my professional life I see people as individuals first and foremost and not in their belonging to a group; consequently some of the social dynamics confuse me. I can analyze them with my mind, but I connect to individuals and not a whole group, so I cannot *really* understand that thinking that I shouldn`t befriend or talk to someone from a special group. For example: I am a non-smoker, and somehow people seem to think that non-smoker have to stay clear of smokers. WEll, if I happen to like a smoker, I am going to talk to him and be friendly and open. But not because he is a smoker, just because of the person he is or I perceive him as such.
This right here absolutely screams Fi, and INFP. Social orders and rules are irrelevant when you feel your moral code is the correct way to function, and you will buck a given accepted norm to do what you feel is right. INFJ's will much rather put on a face and "fit in" generally first, and address their moral qualms later. On the surface this appears to be very INFP. However, it could be INFJ, but I would have to see how you act in a given situation. I think this is a good point to say that body language is actually the most sure fire way to figure out someones type. The cognitive functions all emerge in very discreet and classical ways with certain types of movements and speaking patterns. ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |

It`s my favourite type. I feel such a strong pull towards this type despite knowing for sure it`s not my type. But I feel strongly attracted to ENFP`s.

And just when I had come to think I really was an INFJ. lol
Maybe INFP is the idealized idea I have of myself, and INFJ is more how I actually act. I really don´t know. What would the difference in bodylanguage between both types?

There is something in progress that I am working on. It will clearly clarify most of your doubts like getting confused between two types INFJ or INFP etc. But please continue the discussion. IP: Logged |

It's VERY hard to explain for several reasons. The first is it is subtle and hard to type out without being able to show examples. The second is it took me months to learn how to do it and do it well, so it's not something that can easily be learned overnight. I will defer you to here if you would like more information on typing and what not. Personality Nation. If you register there, tell them IndigoSensor/tautomer4314 sent you. I had a pretty good rapport when I was a member there. Same goes for you as well Ceridwen. quote: Originally posted by Ceridwen: And just when I had come to think I really was an INFJ. lolMaybe INFP is the idealized idea I have of myself, and INFJ is more how I actually act. Figuring out my type was at first quite easy, but then became difficult. I waffled between INFJ, ISFJ, and ISTJ for a while, but ultimately settled for what my type is as it is who I am. Idealism is quite hard to get by, but over time you learn to look past it. MBTI is a journey and it takes A LONG time to sort it out. The biggest difference between the two types is the way they emote facial expressions. INFP's have the quality of expressing what they feel, where as INFJ's have the quality of expressing to convey something to another person. There's much more to it then that though. ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |

ISTP - Usually when I take any personality tests there are a few things that fit me at least. Not with this one though. 6w5 - this is much better and makes sense. I can recognize some traits there. Taurus Sun Aquarius Moon Libra Rising IP: Logged |

You can't be 8w4; that type does not exist. the wing for any given enneagram type must be one number next in the cycle of numbers within enneagram. They act as a modifier. As such, for an E8, 8w7 or 8w9 is possible. Just because you test high in two numbers doesn't mean it's a one two punch with things. Further, keep in mind that online tests for these things are not always correct. ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |
