I think that's what this transit encourages (albeit with intensity), to make you re-evaluate your life and make the much needed changes that you had come to realise when Pluto was causing disruption from your 12 house. In my case, Pluto transitting my 12 house is one aspect I am delighted I won't endure again; however, I'm very appreciative of the lessons the transit has tought me.

Now, I get to enjoy the changes in my life with much gusto as Pluto resides in my 1st and I feel I have full control of my life and my actions.

Better to rip off the plaster - sometimes the agony is just in the lead-up.

I loved Uranus conjunct Mars, aspecting everything else that aspects Mars. I was scared of it when I first noticed it would be coming up in about a year (this was in 2002), but then realized that I couldn't do that to myself.

Whenever Pluto crossed 2*56 Scorpio, it crossed my ascendant. I still need to look it up.

Pluto started a conjunction with my Capricorn Ascendant not too long ago. My transiting pluto is also conjunct uranus, opposite jupiter, and will soon conjunct neptune too. I have a stellium of 5 planets conjunct my ascendant and pluto is rolling right through them now. Major life changes have been happening lately, with jobs, home, etc.. but it's all great changes i've been waiting for, it's like everything is falling into place. Transiting Jupiter is starting to trine my pluto-ASC stellium conjunction so i think things will only get better. I'm enjoying this pluto-ASC transit so far.

Pluto is going to transit my ascendant around my mid 30's.Since pluto is going to cross your asc. I assume that pluto is currently in your 12th house. So I was just wondering...what's it like having pluto in the 12th?I'll have that next year.

I'm going through this transit (pluto conjunct ascendant) right now. I haven't noticed any changes so far. Hopefully, it won't be as bad as pluto transiting my 12th house. That was the worst!

For me, my whole life fell apart. I was betrayed by a close friend, my grades plummeted no matter what I did, and I felt completely lost and alone. I felt like I had no direction, which is a death sentence for a capricorn rising! My career goals changed dramatically and I moved across the country, leaving behind all of my family and friends. This was really difficult for me.

The last 1/3 of the transit isn't bad. Things are usually more settled by then. This transit will force you to get rid of anything unnecessary out of your life and force you to make very difficult decisions that you would rather not face. I never cried so much in my life as I did during this transit. It really sucked. Think of it as the "spring-cleaning" transit" where you get rid of the garbage in your life and figure out what you really need.

At the risk of seeming odd, I wanted to add, during that time I was also convinced that I could occasionally catch snippets of other people's thoughts. Could have been the pot or the stress causing a mental crack, but not sure since Pluto rules the subconscious.

Sounds interesting? It's not. Not in the least, at least for someone like me who doesn't believe that something like that is even possible.

I look at what happened to me during that time of my life and see that Pluto is going to cross your ASC soon... and I just hope to heck either Pluto crossing mine didn't cause those things and/or yours is much more pleasant. <3

Sashar, LOL well, any house has to be better than it being in the 12th house.

I can do that too. And have psychic dreams. I bet there is a connection there.

Astra, i could have written that myself. Ive had a similar experience. It was the worst when it was squaring my moon, going back and forth over 29* Sag.

I've got a few more years until it finally hits my natal Asc exactly, then it will Rx a few degrees and come back to hit it again. I'm sure I'll start to really feel the conjunction aspect in a year or so.

Feels like my life's been in standstill or im in a hibrination period, which will hopefully change when this transit comes into full effect. I can try to start laying the foundation for change now...

Thanks everyone.

Well, new job, physical changes, mental changes, spiritual changes...everything that 'seems' me has changed. I'd like to add, its not just the rug snatched from my feet. Everyone standing on the rug, it is snatched from their feet also, because I am the one changing right in front of them--and it is pretty dramatic. I've one friend who understands and I think it is because our charts are basically the same.

Granted I already have Pluto in Scorpio in the 1st, this is SPOT on. A new one every other day, and they are intense. But, most of the time I realize I am blowing something (that may have a kernel of truth) completely out of proportion and I need to change 'me' not someone else.

For some reason you grow less attached to people, or maybe that's just me. I think I'm about to end a friendship that I've had for half of my life because we no longer have anything in common and I think she's trying to manipulate me into giving her more attention than I can give anyone right now. Plus, I just can't talk about high school anymore, nor do I want to gossip about the people we went to high school with.

Experiencing the EXACT same thing! I've at least two friends who are not resorting to underhanded, manipulative tactics to try and get me to stick around when I just want to not do that right now (1 has been pretty open about this). It is really appalling, and I definitely feel I am not attached to anyone right now and I like that. I mean, it is a difficult period because I feel like everything I believed and new of myself is one big hoax. It is like, one great coverup I've been a part of all of my life, almost.

I think I have about 2 years of it. It has also...I mean, with a Libra Rising and Libra Mars (and the Pluto/Mars conjunction among others), made me more forward that normal. I know those first two combinations are not known for decisive action and being forward (though I am very, very direct)--it has been taken to a whole new level recently.

And the whole thing about being intuitive and getting snippets of other people's thoughts. Yeah, you aren't crazy. Though, I've experienced that prior to now. I just find I can see straight through people and the I feel a hint of deceit or falsehood, good day, game over.

Re: "snippets of other peoples thoughts"

that is actually Uranus.
Pluto would be that you have figured out their thought process and can predict their reaction. Pluto is slow, (thorough) and steady
Uranus is like an ADHD planet that gathers information but can't tell you the steps it took to get there.

Pluto...Investigative (digs deep)
Uranus...flashes of insights

I will be experiencing this one too, sometime in the future, in my late thirties I think. Pluto is now in my 12th house and it is quite a harsh transit, like everyone mentioned. I am single and alone, almost committed suicide 6 months ago, was on sleeping pills and antidepressants for the first time in my life and, generally, have had a lousy time in my life. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. You only suffer when you struggle to go against the current, once you stop that things start to improve. This has been the case for me in the couple of hard Pluto transits I've been through - the hardest being the conjunction to my Moon-Neptune and SN on the cusp of the 12H. One way to beat Pluto at its own game is psychotherapy. Because Pluto wants to dig up the garbage in your emotional life, better do that yourself to spare him the trouble. It's only recently that I have started to see some improvement, but for years I was caught up in resisting the changes, in refusing to confrunt my inner demons, or even aknowledge them, I was even resisting therapy. As with everything excessive, sometimes you need to go to the end of the rope to realize there is nowhere lower to go, you have reached the bottom. And that's when the desperation and anxiety stops and calm sets in. You cannot run from this, you cannot hide, the only way to survive it is to allow it to flow through you as he sees fit.

The only thing that I am concerned about regarding this transit, and the upcoming one for me, Pluto square Aries Sun, is the ruthlessness it can cause, since I've been down that road before and I hate the guilt and shame that come after such behaviour. I hope this time I have learned my lesson.

Whatever you give to a woman, she will make it GREATER. Give her SPERM, she will give you a BABY. Give her a HOUSE, she will give you a HOME. Give her GROCERIES, she will give you a MEAL. Give her LOVE, and she will give you her HEART! She multiplies and enlarges what she is given. So, if you give her CR@P, be prepared to receive a ton of SH!T!

That sounds really scary. I'm going to have Pluto in my 12th next year & Pluto is a long, long transit. My teen years have been rough,I thought I was done with having a hard time.Pluto in the 12th doesn't sound so good.

I don't mean to scare you, Milly. But truth is this is a hard transit and it helps to be prepared for it, at least in some ways - chances are it will still take you by storm because that's what it takes to shake out the old and enter the new. But there is hope, as I mentioned. I believe I have never, in my life, been a more authentic human being than I am now. And in Pluto fashion, just before my epiphany, I had an argument with my boss, who told me I am too opionated and rebelious (I criticized him and went too far indeed, afterwards I thought I might have to look for work some place else), but has since taken me a lot more serious and behaved different towards me - with more consideration.

There is always balance. Pluto gives back for what he strips out and, honestly, him and Saturn, IMO, are the best gift givers character wise.

Ooh ooh, I just love telling this story!
I have a Sag conjunct Neptune asc, and around 2006 Pluto crossed it. That was before I knew that astrology was so much more than just your Sun sign.
So, I got a job at a lumber mill (which is what my mother had done my whole life - and still does - to support me and my little sister). It was the hardest work, physically, that I have ever done. I gained so much upper body strength and learned to tolerate really cheavanistic attitudes and still outwork a man - which gave me so much confidence. It was kind of miserable, but the payoff was the best paychecks I had ever earned, and losing weight.
I started renting a place by myself, but within a few months it flooded! I had been out of town that day, and when I got home the river was literally inches from coming through my front door. I had enough time to pack some stuff, and I thought I could save most of my stuff by setting it on counters and high on shelves. NOPE - water cleared the counter tops and picked up all shelving AND the fridge, then as it receded, the river totally rearranged my whole house. I totally deserved it, because when I was a kid I used to collect so much crap, and thinking I was being smart I would say "I just wish a natural disaster would come along and take just my room - not the whole house. Then I wouldn't have to deal with all of this crap!" Careful what ya wish for, as the saying goes!
Then about a week later, I went on a first date w/ my current BF, my first and only long-term relationship.
It wasn't that bad for me at all. I think the ultimate low point -I just remembered- of the whole thing was eating magic mushrooms by myself at my house, and spending about an hour and a half crying in the back yard about what a lonely person I had become. But that's because of much deeper issues than a Pluto transit. It was more of an epiphany, really.
I'm so glad you asked!

Hi Hera, sorry to hear you've been suffering from depression - it's nasty! But I admire your attitude and approach. I think astrology can be helpful that way sometimes, as we know all transits eventually pass and we learn from them!

You might want to check out (if you haven't already) Alive and Well with Pluto by Bil Tierney; Ive just started reading it, as I have a series of Pluto trines coming up over the next 10 years or so beginning with my Sun!
