Do you resonate with the Quintiles or Bi-Quintiles found in your chart? Do you have any? Do you have many? These set of aspects are said to be the most "special" parts of a chart. Quintiles are said to represent your "purpose" here and qualities that others recognize in you immediately. How strongly, if at all, do you feel your Quintiles and Bi-Quintiles?Personally, I have: Sun Quintile AC Moon BiQuintile Neptune Saturn Quintile Pluto These are all energies I feel very potently in my character; I am tempted to say they are the strongest energies in my chart. They operate more as conjunctions - that's how deeply engrained and "natural" they are to me. Anytime I read descriptions of "Sun conjunct AC", "Moon conjunct Neptune" or "Saturn conjunct Pluto", I resonate with them entirely. Before I discovered Quintiles, I had no idea why. Get to know your Quintiles and let me know if you find the same! I would allow no more than a 3' orb. Following is a tidbit on Quintiles and Bi-Quintiles:
"Quintiles are measured from plus or minus 72 degrees. Bi- quintiles are measured from plus or minus 144 degrees which is one or two fifths of a circle. When planets are quintile or bi-quintile this is an indication of uncommon creative energy and talent. They are trend-setters and need an audience. The energy here is specialized and purposely striving toward power. Quintile and bi-quintile energy can be romantic, playful and demonstrative. The quintile family of aspects can indicate science, math and engineering. There's a need to make things happen. Cosmic will seems to be at play here, so if creative things aren't happening, then look for destruction. Quintiles and bi-quintiles bring a certain dignity, clarity, pride and unusual sexual energy. A quintile resonates with the Sun, Fixed, Fire and Leo energy." IP: Logged |

Do you feel like a Sun/Pluto person? Here is an interpretation: Sun quintile Pluto You would be highly successful at research or investigation; you have a remarkable gift for penetrating to the essence of a situation. This gift will be instrumental in achieving your goals and bringing you recognition. You have a powerful persona and are able to take charge. Being quite charismatic, it is easy for you to gain the trust of those around you. Treat it as a scared trust. IP: Logged |

Great, so I'm not the only one! This is just the kind of feedback I wanted. Hopefully others will comment so as to attest to or disprove this theory. IP: Logged |

Sun quintile Jupiter Mars quintile Saturn Pluto quintile Saturn I don't give much thought for aspects between saturn and pluto. The first two I think are pretty influential, which imply that I know how to be professional in business. IP: Logged |

I have Moon exactly quintile Mars. (orb:0°04 a)Moon very widely quintile ASC (1°55) - but I am usually only allowing 1 degree for minor aspects. Saturn biquintile Neptune (1°01) Saturn biquintile NN (0°48) Not sure what that means but I´ve always wondered why we left out the "5" in the sequence of aspects:
1: conjunction 2: opposition 3: trine 4: square 5: quintile 6: sextile 7: septile 8: semisquare 9: novile

This is how I look at quintiles and how they are similar to and different from a trine. Both are touted as being creative and bestowing talent and natural ability in the chart, both are said to be “gifts”. BUT … The trine is an energy which operates with natural ease in a creative, talented and confident manner within the boundaries of the existing status quo. The person is comfortable with their existing circumstances and can make the most of them – they do not seek to break out of it. The energy is so well integrated with the way the person operates that in some cases they are not even aware of how well and easily they are harmonizing with the flow. With the quintile it is different. The person will initially find themselves in circumstances which do not satisfy them. They know that the traditions and norms which surround them do not support the way they want to be. There is a desire to break free of this and to deviate from the norm. The quintile person is very aware of what they want, and will feel an inner drive to break away from their past because they know quite consciously that this will not contribute to their personal development. Quintiles bestow the creative means by which a person can effectively pull themselves out of the past from which their growing personality demands to be separated. They go about this in a surefooted and adept manner which takes them in a direct path to where they want to go. The person who has a waxing quintile (the faster planet ahead of the slower) will purposefully and happily strike out on their own in a new direction without needing the support from the past/traditions/society. This person possesses the capacity WITHIN THEMSELVES to express their creatively. They will independently develop the behaviours and values needed to represent the quintile planets in a way that breaks with tradition. The person who has a waning quintile (the faster planet behind the slower) will also want to break with the norms of their past, but will look to do so by interacting creatively and originally with “alternative” movements and subcultures within society that they have not been previously exposed to that will offer them a better “fit” to express their creativity. In both instances there is an individualized creative process which supports the continued growth and actualization of the person, along with an innate talent which enables them to do this. What is important for the quintile “owner” is the need to individualize and creatively express themselves in the most authentic and truest way possible. The Quintile person deliberately steps onto this path of individuation following an initial period where they discover that they are uncomfortable with the norms and conditioned responses and ways of being that they were “born” into. Orbs must be tight – I would not go above 1.5 degrees. IP: Logged |

Jupiter quintile Ascendant / Descendant: Behaviours involving risk-taking; grand and impressive gestures; exhibitionism; absence of inhibition. This is an interesting thread, I had never really looked into these aspects!I have Mars quintile Jupiter, and Uranus quintile MC. I think they both apply, although they have posed difficulties as well, as Taineberry explained. I know it's necessary to have a good resume to get your foot in the door in pretty much any industry, hence why I’m in school and care about these things, but at the end of the day career pursuits are what you make of them, and I've never subscribed to believing that the identity you create for yourself on paper will determine your quality of life or how successful you'll ultimately be...

I have a lot of Quintiles and bi-quintiles but the most interesting one isMoon bi-quintile MC Moon bi-quintile Asc MC quintile Asc. My MC and Venus (MC Ruler) are so poorly aspected that I'm surprised I'm not a complete loser in the workforce but contrary to my aspects I'm not. I'm sure this little configuration has helped me considerably. (and the hard aspects just make me try harder) IP: Logged |

To give a concrete example. Let us say there are two artists - one with a trine and the other with a quintile between mars and neptune. They both have active (mars) imaginations (neptune). The trine person has the potential to use this quality to shine within the style of art that they find themselves naturally gifted. The quintile person has the potential to shine though using their active imagination to invent an entirely new and original style of art which they either do entirely on their own or develop in collaboration with others to start a new movement.IP: Logged |

Taineberry, You seem to know what you're talking about here. At the very least, it sounds like you've got a better grasp of the Quintile concept than I do. That said, would you mind doing mini-interpretations of each of my Quintiles? They would be interesting to hear. Sun Quintile AC Moon BiQuintile Neptune Saturn Quintile Pluto (Sun at midpoint) Do you feel a difference between Quintiles and BiQuintiles? IP: Logged |

Alaz - just got time to do one for now as I have a busy day ....Here's a quick look at Moon Biquintile Neptune. (I interpret it same as the Quintile) You instinctively respond with exquisite sensitivity to all that is magical and mystical. You feel a powerful urge to follow the beat of your own drum as you explore the mystery of life and you have the capacity to merge with the nebulous. You develop unique insights from this that you are able to use in a creative manner within the context of the houses and signs that the quintile occurs. Hope this helps! IP: Logged |

awesome post and theory! i always thought quintiles was just a minor thing in the chart.heres mine: sun quintile moon venus quintile jupiter venus q jupiter deffinately rang true to me.. im a venus scorpio but ive always felt a little bit of sag flava with it lol more lighthearted than the avg scorp for sure. i very much jump into relationships, positively, 95% of the time and a sense of humor is a MUST in my man, no if and or butts. if my friends aren't funny either, the relationship isn,t as close as it could be i feel. now sun quintile moon confused me for the fact that i read on a website that sun is usually conjunct moon when theyre in the same sign, and my sun is earth and moon is air..the only thing i can really see with this aspect is that some people i know who are into astrology thought i was a cancer sun (which im not) other than that im at a loss for words -_- IP: Logged |

I have sun Q to my pluto too! Also Venus -1 degree??? Q pluto as well. Im not sure what minus 1 means. And i have moon Q my venus. I dont think i fit the sun Q pluto thing too much. Neither does the moon q venus aspect. All these things i read say i'm supposed to be charming or charismatic good with people. I'm such an introvert and very awkward when socialising. Unless my awkwardness is a charm then they could be right haha. People don't completely dislike me though. I try my best to not say much and stay out of their way. I dont wanna inconvenience people.IP: Logged |
