I find that both saggy and aqua are quite headstrong, yet quite compatible. What is their compatibility and what can they learn from one another?

Can the sagittarius male gain maturity from a relationship with an aqua female?

I disagree. Sagittarians have an optimistic view of the world, but that does not make them naive. They are the philosophers who challenge stagnant belief systems, whether in science, religion, or something as mundane as sports.

Aqua-Sag pairs are compatible in that both have wide, open boundaries, and recognize each other's need for space. To the Sag, to come across someone who actually understands this is incredibly liberating and refreshing, and allows their feelings to mature without pressure or demands. If forced to conform, a Sag will very likely reel back and push against that. Give them the slack, and they will return of their own volition. Sag is all about the chase after all.

Keep up the interest with engaging conversation about a wide variety of topics. Aquarian's world-view is inspiring, and strikes a chord in a typical Sagittarian's heart. That there is the key: Aquarians can be inspiring, and when you inspire a Sagittarian, it makes them want to improve themselves to keep up.

I think Sagittarius learns that relationships don't have to be stifling and Aquarius learns to be less rigid and more go-with-the-flow.

I agree with both the above responses. I have dated Aquarian women and men and speaking from a Sagittarian perspective, they are by far the most naturally compatible with my energy.

A perfect example of why Sag and Aquarius work so well:

I had been dating this particular Aquarius guy for several months, when I was about 19 years old. We were parked behind a coffee shop when he said to me, "You seem off tonight, are you okay?" (my ruling planet is in Cancer and his was in Scorpio lol). I replied that I just felt restless and wanted to get out of there. "That's cool, we can go someplace else. Where do you want to go?". To which I replied, "New Orleans" (HAha the coffee shop was in San Diego, CA). He thought for literally about a second, then shrugged, and said, "Okay". That night we stopped by our houses, packed our stuff, drove out to the desert, dropped some acid, and then proceeded to just drive until we ran out of gas and money. We were on the road for about 3 months before we had to stop, settle, and get jobs.

I dated an Aquarian girl who loved to write. Most of our relationship was spent exchanging ideas for books to write. Pretending to be completely different people in public, and generally enjoying each others imagination. In fact, though the sex was fun, we enjoyed each other most just hanging out and being with each other.

Of all the Air signs, Aquarius's grasp of mind is the most exciting to a Sag. Where Gemini focuses mostly on inner/outer dialogue, and data acquisition/dissemination and Libra focuses mainly on relativity, perspective, and aesthetic, Aquarius focuses on imagination, ideas, and ideals. Aquarius opens up their head and invites Sagittarius to play around in their "Forest of Imagination" (wee bunnies with didgeridoos!). Sag then proceeds to explore the forest, hunt, skin, and eat didgeridoo wielding bunnies, then look to the horizon an hour later and say, "This is cool, what is over there?". Sag adds new perspective and potential to patterns which Aquarius is to fixated on to challenge.

Another big thing about this combo is knowing when to take the other person seriously and knowing when to be silly. Being misunderstood is a common occurrence for both signs. If a Sag says to a Cancer,"You look great tonight! Oh, but you don't need that much make up", Sag genuinely thinks he is saving Cancer from a night of being stared at like a hooker, but Cancer reacts by running off to the pain cave (before people flame me, these examples are generalizations... here would be one of those "knowing when to take a Sag seriously" moments). If a Sag said the same thing to an Aquarius, the Aquarius would generally respond with, "Hmm... Perhaps you're right, BRB" Or even, "Yeah, I wanted to look like a total hooker just to see how many weird looks I can get....OoOoo Lets put hooker make up on you and see the kind of looks YOU get!"... To which any self respecting Sag would reply..."Umm yes, and I love you".

When it comes down to the basics, Aquarius is about maintaining a broad perspective and Sag is about expansion, put the two together and they just continuously feed each other into explody-head-madness-joy.

I cannot explain how happy/amused this post made me!

"He thought for literally about a second, then shrugged, and said, "Okay"."<----That is SOOOO me and exactly how that would occur too. I'd think about whether it was feasible for a second and then i'd say OK! but i don't know that my practical brain would be ok leaving for 3 months, it would depend how much money i had saved up and whether i had pets/rent. haha

Well, the intention was to move to New Orleans, but we were having so much fun driving around that we kept going. The 3 months wasn't planned and we only stopped because there was no more gas. We actually ended up running out of gas in a ghost town HAha. We called up the Mormon church, told them we were brothers who had our wallets stolen, and because his mother was in the LDS registry, they brought us food and enough gas money to get to the closest populated town (Charleston, WV).

Never once did we feel scared (and we did some pretty stupid things), He was very resourceful and I had a way of making complete strangers like me. Whenever I was stumped on what to do next, he would pull something totally inventive out of his hat. And whenever it was time to deal with cops, or strangers, or locate resources I could always manipulate things to work in our favor.

I actually still have this picture of us acting like dorks, the night before we settled in WV. We squatted in an abandoned neighborhood on the Ohio side of the river (kinda weird, but we had fun). I was recovering from a sunburn picked up in Miami.

Lol! Great story, Xiiro Sounds like something I would totally do, before becomming a parent. Perhaps I will take a roadtrip like that once my little one is in school

I agree, Aquarians and Sagittarrians seem to have a good bond. Aquas get our need for space, and encourage us Archers to go for our dreams. No matter how quirky we get, Aquas get it

It reminds me of that Jack Kerouac story. It's almost surreal. I knew a person like that once, I always admired his boldness. He was a Gemini. Up and went to Florida on a whim for two weeks at the age of sixteen. Nearly gave his parents a heart attack.

I get the itch to travel every couple of years, but didn't really start until this relationship. Since then, I have been on several road trips with friends through several states. I think Hawaii (which excludes the road trip aspect) is my favorite state so far, it is the only one I visit repeatedly lol.

Currently I am not dating. I find myself attracted to all Fire signs, Aquarius, Pisces, and Scorpio, but the long-term relationships always end up with Aquarius. Ironically enough, I experienced the same thing you wrote about in your "Sweet Peas In The Rain" thread, with the above Aquarius. The moment we settled in WV, I got a job, made friends, and supported us. He on the other hand, refused to get a job, begged me to buy him weed all the time, repeatedly accused me of sleeping with my boss (and any guy who would talk to me), he stopped being sexual, etc.... I worked hard to try to keep the relationship going, to keep him feeling loved, and to keep communication flowing, but you can only take so much before the whole thing becomes masochistic and emo. After he started trying to make me jealous, I decided it was enough and bought a bus ticket back to CA. He still lives in WV today actually.

Not true I'm in a relationship with a very mature sag who seems a lot more settled and grounded than anyone I've ever dated. He become even more settled after the birth of our son. I do think sag men like aqua men take longer to mature. He's certainly not the same person at 31 that he was at 21. With life came experiences and I love him more everyday because of his optomistic, hardworking, family oriented make you laugh til it hurt ways.

What I learn from him is patience and to chill out. He has a taurus moon and I have a sag moon so my sag ways are more prominate than his sun. I actually thought he would be hard to tie down but in reality it's the other way around.

He's very smart and versed on a lot of different subjects so it keeps my inquisitive mind working. He's learned to be more sensitive to mine and others needs and to pull back on being so blunt to the point of hurting others. He's a gentle giant but boy that mouth of his landed him into so many arguments in the past. Lol One thing we don't do is try to change eachother just give some advice and hope it sinks in.

And as for that whole sag space thing "Pfff" the men are usually only like that if the girl is not relationship material. They feel claustrophobic when he hasn't given her a title and she starts staying over and cleaning up and faking the role of a wife or girlfriend. If he has given you a title that possessive side comes out and if you're running errands for more than an hour it's ok where you at in a joking voice but really it's a disguise because in their head the whole world wants you and they are protecting their prize.
