I found this interpretation:"Saturn in 5th House The native will be without happiness, children, friends and intelligence. He will be heartless and always poor. if saturn is in his exaltation or its own house than native will have a son and some happiness." .... from another site: "Saturn in the Fifth House Sutras 22-26-If Saturn is in the fifth house, the native will be childless and very poor. He will be engaged in inferior trades and will adopt a daughter. If Saturn is in his own sign the native will have daughters. If Saturn is aspected by Jupiter the native will have two wives of whom one will be issueless and the second one will give birth to daughters. If Saturn is strong the native will have affairs with many women. OTHER VIEWS Brihat Jataka: The person concerned will be childless and without wealth. Phaldeepika: The native will be evil minded and devoid of learning, children, wealth and happiness. He will move about aimlessly. Saravali: The native will be without happiness, children, friends and intelligence. He will be heartless and always poor. Chamatkar Chintamani: The native will be childless and of unstable mind and wealth." In some ways it fits. Is it really that bad? Cause seriously... that sounds like "a life not worth living". WTF? Where did you get these? They are awful. If a reading of something does not give you both sides of the placement, ie. the good and the bad, then it is not worth your time in my opinion. ------------------ Leo Sun, Scorpio Moon, Aquarius ASC, Year of the Earth Snake "The Manticore is a mythological creature that is half-lion and half-scorpion." pfft that is totally bogus! my friend has this placement and she is very intelligent, hard working, and is getting a masters. She's got a great life ahead of her! And why would you let something like this decide for you how your life should be? Only you can make your life nothing or worthwhile.IP: Logged |

A planet alone doesn't make the chart. Every life is worth living, remember it and i think that in the end it's up to us if we let these energies rule our life or not. Saturn in 5th may show a -potential- hard life. It means that these energies you were born with will stick with you if you don't channel them right. Saturn in the 5th isn't only privation, it's also wisdom. In the 5th it means that you hide and repress the inner child and your creativity by acting as you think you should be, not as you really are. It's like you're never convinced if what you do is right or wrong. This is frustrating and it will always be until you learn to release your creative spirit! They say is saturn's fault for not having children..but i really think that people with this placement are somehow afraid of them, just the way they are afraid of the child inside them. Maybe you could find a hobby that you can turn into bussines, who knows where it may lead you. sper ca am fost destul de clara, mai mult nu stiu sa zic ptr ca nu ai pus astrograma. oricum iti urez multa bafta! Saturn was in retrograde at birth. I barely reached the age of 29 two month ago (Gemini) and i can honestly say that i felt Saturn's Return at its birth place in the last years......a Gemini with Sun in house 12 - maybe now it makes sense why sometimes i see things in black... ...the truth is - i have a lot of info on Astrology - but that "indian side of astrology" took me by surprise (and not in a positive way) - far from what i read before... Did anybody notice these are VEDIC ASTROLOGY interpretations. It doesn’t even apply to most who have Saturn in the 5th in their western natal chart….. But, even if it is a Vedic astrology interp, it is a bit extreme. I wonder if there are some clued in smart Vedic astrologers out there shaking their heads at this, like it’s the overly simplistic Vedic equivalent of Sun sign astrology in Western astro. Even if Saturn in the 5th is ‘bad’ in Vedic astrology, there may be other things in the chart that counteract or modify this.

First of all, Vedic astrology does not calculate house placements the same way. So for all we know, Saturn may not even be in your 5th house. Secondly, fatalistic interpretations of Saturn show a very superficial knowledge of astrology. There is more to Saturn than restrictions and denials. IP: Logged |

I have Saturn in Virgo 00 5H, square Venus in Scorpio 29 8H. So not only is my Saturn in the 5th, in a wonky degree, not in it's exaltation, and not in its own house, but it is also square Venus in its detriment, in a wonky degree, and in the house of its detriment... I couldn't disagree more with that description. I don't have kids, but that is because I am too busy enjoying life lol. Life has been difficult, but I have had an overabundance of joy, friends, and so far I have no complaints about my intelligence. I understand these descriptions are Vedic and they adhere to a much older view of the heavens than the ones I subscribe to. Perhaps the whole thing has to do with perspective. It is a big statement to say a person will "be without happiness". Life is too short to waste on paying more attention to the negative than the positive. Happiness is something that comes from within and though Saturn could challenge you to discover happiness, it can't forbid you from discovering it. Just look at this as Saturn calling you out. Strap on the gloves and slug him in his crusty, bearded, face. =) IP: Logged |

Saturn is exalted in Libra, so you have that going for you. According to the above description you will at least have a son and some happiness. lol IP: Logged |

They say that Saturn eventually brings rewards, after enough effort (whatever that means). Now, try having Chiron in the 5th.. ahem.

Saturn has it's quirks. Although we are unattached to most things, we still see the whole picture. Perhaps when Jupiter has burned itself out, Saturn is still spinning strong. ------------------ ~Sunny~ IP: Logged |

...my Jupiter placements seems to be stronger than Saturn - being at home in Sagittarius - it's in house 6 - so maybe latter... when i'll end-up in another country - as for the the health part was weird - but nothing that serious - i was involved in 3 car accidents so far and just some superficial bruises... well - i did broke my hand 3 times and my leg 3 times as well... maybe it's just a coincidence that it repeated 3 times or maybe not. Hey!I have saturn in scorpio at the end of the 5th house which sometimes is interpreted as the 6th house. Either way, that's intense! Its also opposed my moon in the 12th house. Saturn in the 5th can be intense---some say it restricts creativity--HOWEVER, we know that saturn is a.k.a "father time" which means that creativity is present and can be achieved--in due time! IN terms of children/marriage, etc...that to me just says that those areas are looked at with great responsibility and will be achieved---that's right--in due time! Sometimes astrology interpretations are SO doom and gloom--it's a wonder anyone really takes is seriously (and this is why many people do not!) I hope more enlightened souls become interested in astrology and spread its good messages around!! IP: Logged |

I have Saturn in 5th. I haven't children yet, but i'm 22, i don't have to have them. I still feel young !I am creative, my worst nightmare would be to get a job which doesn't require creativity, i'd die right away. But i do have problems with being myself with people when having fun. This usually fades away as i get to know these people, so i don't think it's so bad after all. I take all my romances seriously. Once i'll commit to someone, i won't cheat on him . IP: Logged |

...i'm 29 but it wasn't about children for me... maybe i wouldn't mind having one in the future - but since i'm not married i didn't dabble with that...- on the other hand - art was always an important aspect of my life - but even tho i was told to be good enough, couldn't turn that in a profession - I was always "to strict... so severe with what i did..." - even with more simple stuff - i end-up wasting a lot of time - never seemed good enough "I'm my own worst critique"... I know a Scorpio who has this placement in Sagittarius and this guys has a great life. He has been independent since 16 (Mars conjunct IC), he certainly gets by (and always has money for pot) and takes fun and very seriously. He is 24 and has served his time in the Navy, traveled the world and lived in many different places, and is halfway to his teaching degree. He also has this natural charm that sucks people right in, he has a very active social life (besides being a Scorp, his moon in Aqua in his 7th). He definitely isn't lonely in the romance department either, not even when he is traveling, like right now.He seems really happy, he looks forward to making a difference in this world, and getting married and having kids (he is very serous about this subject, learning all he can from helping out with his nephews and nieces). He says he won't ever be rich, but that he doesn't care about that. He is really smart, and versed in a wide variety of subjects. Oh and he also thinks he's GOD!! IP: Logged |
