Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to calcuate when I will have my saturn return...from what I have read it seems as though it transforms you...Is there anyone who has already gone through it? In what ways did it change you? Also I was wondering, do we only have one in our lifetime or more than that? Thanks Luminosity IP: Logged |

Saturn returns occur every 29 1/2 years. One way to find out the exact date of your Saturn returns is: 1) Go to astro.com 2) Enter your birth information to cast a chart, note the degree, minute and sign of your Saturn. 3) Then, at the main menu, on the left hand side, click on "Ephemeris" which will bring up a chart of years. Note which year you'll be 29 1/2 years old, click on that year, then scroll down until you see a match for your Saturn's sign, degree, and minute. That will be the date of your Saturn return. saturn returns happens every 29 to 30 yrs. once when we reach "adulthood" around your late 20's early 30's, and the second comes around your late 50's early 60's. your 3rd, comes around late 80's early 90yrs. http://www.astrocal.co.uk/saturn-return.php for the calculator.just imput your dob on the top left corner. and the table on the right will fill up with the exact dates from when the return starts and finishes at every saturn return. Mine will be Feburary 27th, 2017. Still got a while to go! It will be interesting how it pans out, if I'm even still alive, because natal Saturn is in my 1st H - will I have a identity crisis? IP: Logged |

here's something from cafeastrology: Saturn transiting the first house begins with a Saturn conjunction to the Ascendant, a transit of personal significance. The first house is a fire house, a house that rules our personal identity. We concern ourselves with how we come across to others on a personal level with Saturn here. Our physical body becomes a focus as well. Depending on the age of the native, it may be a time when we feel our age, or it is a time when we see our bodies quite clearly. This is an excellent time for beginning health regimens, diets, and the like, simply because it is a time when we look in the mirror and see ourselves clearly—not what we want to see. Our outlook on life changes to a more serious, responsible tone. In the beginning stages of the transit, you may feel frustrated with yourself, let down, and lacking in self-confidence. You might reach out to others in an attempt to validate yourself, looking for ways to boost your confidence. When these attempts fail, you may feel temporarily let down and discouraged. Rest assured that Saturn will re-work these feelings, with your help of course, until you reach a point (as Saturn moves through the house) where you have a stronger sense of self. This transit acts to transform your self-confidence in such a way that you question the source of your confidence to date, and discover a more solid base for pulling up inner strength. Saturn here acts to rip away the superficial. Illusions about the self, the body, and personal abilities will no longer be tolerated. The end result is a newfound identity and a realistic understanding of the self. In terms of career and projects, outward signs of progress may not be as forthcoming, yet the work that you do during this transit will lay a foundation for future success and progress! For example, some years ago, a client began a hobby/project during a Saturn transit to her first house, something that took up a lot of her time and energy and that yielded nothing in terms of immediate financial gain—until later! In fact, this "hobby" turned into her career in the years to follow. IP: Logged |

Actually having it in the 1st is probably a better position since its inherently part of our personality, unless you have a really conflicted personality and lack saturnian structure then you should be alright. IP: Logged |

The ephemeris way of getting the start date works well but I'm not sure how to get an end date.As for the saturn returm calculator link, maybe I dont understand it correctly but it seems that the first saturn return's start and finish month are always the same? This is a mistake yes? because the first saturn return is supposed to last for 2.5 years. Could someone confirm this? Thank you.

If you go by astro.com,they tend to give a wider orb to important transits/transits to luminaries, but, yeah, around 29th yr Saturn comes back again.IP: Logged |

LOL!! I wonder, does having Capricorn rising make the Saturn Return less painful? My Saturn is in Scorpio in the 10th house. IP: Logged |

I've found that the Saturn transit affects everything linked to the planets that conjuncts it nataly. If transiting Saturn aspects Sun/Venus by square/opposition/conjunction; depression or feeling isolated can occur. If transiting Saturn aspects Mars/Mercury by square/opp/conjunction; frustration, feeling limited, delays happen and efforts being fruitless can result. If transiting Saturn aspects Moon/Jupiter by square opp/conjunction; you are likely to not feel so good, self doubt can happen as also feeling like you can't breathe and people just don't "care".
