Out of curiosity, what are indications in a birth chart that someone could have a psychological disorder? Would it be harsh Mars aspects for aggressive behavior? Harsh Moon aspects for mood disorders? And so on and so forth… I’ll just say that I actually have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. A mild case, but I’ve always wondered if it had something to do with my Moon sign. Symptoms of restlessness, difficulty in concentration (due to needing a lot of mental stimulation), and over-analyzing that leads to worrying is something GAD and the “negative side” of Gemini moon have in common. Thoughts or experiences?

Afflicted Neptune or Afflictions from Neptune rule Psychological Disorders.Afflicted Moon compounds mild disorders. 12th House Afflictions are the most important to study depression for unknown reasons, and in men, afflicted 12th House can lead to criminal intent. Afflicted 6th House can indicate stress and disorder due to emotional problems or even substance abuse. Yes, afflicted Mars can indicate anger. Afflicted Mercury can indicate nervousness or OCD. Nessus afflictions on top of Neptune or Mars afflictions indicate Psychopathic behavior. Pluto afflictions are rampant in NPD, and in Control Freaks. Afflicted Gemini Moon is more susceptible to Bipolar Disorder, Virgo Moon for OCD, Leo Moon for NPD and Scorpio Moon is present more than average amongst those who plan cunning vengeance. Pisces Moon is present way above average in those who suffer psychologically from self-esteem issues. ------------------ Astrology Articles

I was diagnosed with depression, though it's been getting better. I think it's my Scorpio Moon conj. Pluto opposing my Sun conj. Venus, and Saturn squaring all of them.IP: Logged |

Interesting IQ, but how would we know what is "afflicted" and what is not? Is it different for each planets?
Thanks in advance. IP: Logged |

Wow, these are awesome responses. I agree about Pisces Moon and its issues with self esteem. I have many friends who have this moon position and they often confide in me about their self worth/self image. This may sound like a silly question, but what does "afflicted" mean? Aww, Leos seem to always get a bad rap about their egos hahaha. Capricorns with a workaholic personality disorder. Hmm...technically, a workaholic personality disorder is associated with obsessive compulsive disorder/obsessive compulsive personality disorder since the individual would be obsessed with perfection in their career. Desiring Shadows, I want to make sure I understand, but are you asking yourself are you weak? Do you believe so? Brightwhites, is Saturn a heavy influence or do you feel your Scorpion moon more? And thank you Lalalinda ------------------ Leo Sun, Gemini Moon, Scorpio Rising. I will create happiness rather than pursue it. IP: Logged |

I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disordered 'traits', mild to moderate anxiety, some OCD, and depression... yikes. Sounds like I am a mental case eh? But I guess all I can say is that when you are around me and getting to know me, 80-90% of the time I'm an enjoyable, interesting and supportive person. I'm also an empath, which I've noticed BPD-trait people seem to carry around. I guess the BPD goes with my Mars in Cancer being in 29 degrees and opposite Neptune and Uranus, as well as my Moon falling in Virgo and conjunct Chiron. Interestingly I'm also very into cleanliness and used to suffer from anxiety from weird habits that required total neatness [such as perfectly clean food, not having my face touched by anyone, etc...] IP: Logged |

Basically a planet is afflicted when it makes hard aspects to other planets, mainly the square and opposition but I guess the conjunction in some cases, too (Saturn/Mars for ex). It can have other flowing aspects (trine, sextile) but it's still considered afflicted with even one hard aspect. I think the Moon in hard aspect to Saturn is often found in charts of people with depression.

I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, always being nervous and restless. I just can't stop thinking/worrying, which also makes me being insomniac for weeks. I'm also very hypocondriac, I can't help worrying about my health and my biggest fear is to die young and alone (without being loved). Tend to procastinate and daydream (at the same time have delusional ideas) a lot. My aspects are: - Sun square Neptune (excessive daydreaming) - Moon square Neptune (sadness) - Venus square Neptune (procastination, fear of dying alone, very dependent) - Mars square Saturn (anxiety, frustration) - Mars square Uranus (restlessness, bursts of anger, tantrums) - Very afflicted Chiron (very low self-esteem) - Sun/Mars/MC in Virgo (hypochondriac) IP: Logged |

I hear you on the insomnia. My restlessness keeps me up and sometimes I can’t just turn off my brain’s thought processes. Sun square Pluto- prone to inner tension (always looking for self-improvement, to put it nicely). Mercury square Pluto- Suspicious and tend to look for ulterior motives even when they’re aren’t any. I seem to always be investigating someone. Not necessarily spying, but definitely checking their background. Mars sextile Jupiter- restless/prone to boredom (I think?)

Surprisingly, nothing on the moon that I can see.Sweet scorpion, no one's a mental case . Society really needs to reduce/completely remove the stigma that is associated with mental health. IP: Logged | |
