What we need in a partner is mainly shown by the 7th house and its ruler. So, don't forget to take into account the Descendant!

For women, check the Sun and Mars positions and of course the 7th house.

And! Check the house positions of the planets in addition to the aspects they make. For example, a guy with Moon or Venus in the 3rd house may very well be attracted to a Mercurial personality, and a woman with a 5th house Mars, for example, could be attracted to Leo-ish types.

There are tons of indicators, really.

This. Yes.

I think house placement definitely matters.
I also think conjunctions to the Ascendant matter just as much (if not more, IMO) as conjunctions to the DSC or to any direct planet.
But my chart is a bit too interconnected to tell by house placement alone..

ASC Leo
Sagittarius 5th
Sun, Merc, Venus in 9th (naturally Sag ruled).
Sag Saturn, Vertex, Mars/Uranus in 5th (naturally Leo ruled)

My most intensely felt relationship has been with a person who creates an aspect to all of this in my chart. He's felt like my mortal enemy (forcing me to realize things I didn't want to: I really don't like faults pointed out to me) at times, but more often than not like the only person I've ever loved more than myself.

@ Karka I think Moon/Venus works well when looking for a man's "ideal" woman. If paired harmoniously, a woman embodies those traits for her partner and he is her sun/mars(possibly saturn) combination. Try using the midpoint between the two and see if it aspects (Conj, opp, maybe trine) any of your personal planets or love/fate asteroids. Keep in mind *tight* orbs if you use asteroids.

I wanted to add Saturn for women's indicators for men because Saturn is stability and security. Longevity. Desirable traits in most marriages/partnerships. Saturn (or the Sun) can also represent a person's father (Moon-mother), and they say men marry their mothers/women marry their fathers. Just be careful that Saturn isn't bullying the moon or venus of either person in relationship with hard aspects.

And don't be so sure that Venus isn't sexual for men. She wasn't just the goddess of love, but the goddess of mortal pleasures.

quote:
The goddess Venus represents the ideal of seductive female beauty. In her Greek form, Aphrodite, or as the Roman Venus, she is associated with the seduction of mortals by gods, and with sexual relationships between mortal men and women.

Thats what I think

Very feminine kind of girl though, maybe a bit helpless and vulnerable too

It does resonate a bit with him. He prefers girls who look and act natural. I think he has an affinity to "quirky" girls. He's also not likely to make the first move.

Thanks for this!

Truth be told, he didn't actually make the first move because I did! Lol. That must be my Scorp mars talking.

I have a Pisces moon too, but I guess it doesn't work the same way with other charts (plus, I'm a girl so.. I think that's another difference? XD)

I have Artemis in Aquarius and Aphrodite in Scorpio! Talking about women, I like them to be spunky and fun while at the same time, a little reserved and/or less extroverted than me. That way I have someone I can talk to and have fun with while also being able to show off myself! With louder, more extroverted people than I, I tend to take on the quiet role, while with the quieter folk, I'll be the loud one.

I totally agree! My mars is retrograde in Cancer and placed in my 9th house (plus mars is the ruler of my 7th) The men I'm attracted to ALWAYS have a strong spiritual/Jupiterian/Sagitarrean element to them or I'm not interested.

What's an example of detached vs. attached? I mean I have one but I'm just wondering.

Moon/venus in gemini.

Idk I've dated a lot of different types of women.
Some of them had interesting hair colors too like white, turquoise, pink.
I guess I like the variety of life lol

I don't have an ideal woman, depends if I find them interesting and attractive.

The whole idea of feminine or masculine isn't important to me either I've even dated people that would be considered trans....LOL

Cancer Moon is great, but knowing men and humans in general *facepalm* itll probably manifest into something low like wanting a woman who spends her time on make up and is naggy and dependent on him

Orr it could be a woman who is dependent on him, but nurturing and domesticated, and womanly, neat, with manners.

Cancer moon he probably is open to thicker women, especially if he's on a Virgo/Libra cusp (Libra is very Venusian. Think Renessaince bodies.) Virgo he wants someone modest but freaky in private.

Libra moon w Venus in Aquarius... hmm someone who is fair and ethical but might be very moody and emotionally complex. Someone who is socially suave and cerebral. Who is more focused on others. Look wise a girl who is feminine and simple. Someone naturally refined and pretty.
