i love leo chic...def that bold print thing they do so well. jealous cos i can't pull it off the leo guys do ok too usually.

mr sag with aqua rising i have to help a bit, otherwise he kinda looks like he's moonlighting at the circus. lots of clashing colours. the worst is his surf short collection with naked chicks on. WHY. his sense of style is like one of those 3d magic eye pics. it hurts the eyes. but i've trained him well. and he looks so f'in sweet in a suit.

lol anno~ ^

dem Sadge's are hard work no matter what, I lucked out a little bit, mine has a conservative Venus in Capricorn, and Virgo rising... but he still refuses to give up his gd baseball caps! /sigh! lol

had a Leo ex, this is some time ago, he had a huge thing for silk shirts..... with those mind-warping illusion patterns too.... omg did I hate those tacky looking things... ever since then I can't consider a single Leo male gifted with fashion... fads only... lol

NOW the women~ nonono... they're too highbrow for anything tasteless, I've only ever seen well dressed Leos, classic beauties... extravagant but in a pearls and diamonds sorta way... trends aren't followed, they have set preferences though... Leo women are fashionable without bending to trends/fads methinks~ Cap Suns aren't so different, though we may opt for more comfort and conservatism... classics is preferred with both though, I find. no????

Are we talking about trendiness or innovation? They're two entirely different things.

How it usually goes is this :

1.) Some underground or subgroup comes up with something really different and unique.

2.) The rest of the world is either totally uninterested/unaware about it or finds it and the groups responsible, horrifying, or it's too brainy or too...something (insert whatever adjective you want) for them to grasp.

3.) Then someone comes along, finds out about said thing, and they water it down as much as possible to make it safe and palatable for the masses, dumbing it down also if necessary.

4.) The masses gobble up the watered-down, bastardized version of said thing. You start seeing affluent teenagers walking around sporting said thing because they read and heard it was in 'fashion', and all their friends are into it.

5.) It hits the soccer-moms. This is when it officially becomes 'uncool'.

6.) The whole process starts over again with something else, something new. While the rest of society was sporting the trend, the underground/sub-group had already moved on to something else...which will be the next thing the masses devour and f**k up.

Innovation, which I think is actually what we're talking about here, is more the domain of Uranian-Aquarian people, if you want the truth about it. Uranus is change, revolution. It's the future, it's the sign and planet of the 'new'. It should tell you something that science is associated with Uranus, and how many technological advances and new things have come along since the scientific era got into swing in earnest.

When people refer to Aries as pioneers, I always wonder if they don't know that pioneer has like two different meanings to it lmao. There's the pioneers who went in and physically settled into new lands - lands that weren't even really new or even unpopulated, it's just that in their particular homeland/community, whatever, those places were newly discovered, and then there's actual pioneers in the sense of coming up with or doing something that actually is totally new. It's like confusing Columbus or pilgrims with the guys who invented the airplane or something.

Mars/Aries will be quicker to jump up and try something, but that's where it ends. They aren't really the ones that create something new and different. In the list I posted above, Aries would be more the type to take something someone else innovated/created, and then water it down and dispense it to the masses, but they wouldn't be the one to CREATE the new thing. That would be Uranus/Aquarius.

Then everybody else will jump on the bandwagon.

Here's the cliff-notes version of what I just said for the folks who hate posts longer than two sentences:

This came out in the 1970s. David Bowie is an AQUARIUS ascendant with his chart ruler, Uranus in Gemini, in the fifth house of creativity.

This came out in the 2000's. There may be Aries and/or Sag placements in her chart, not sure, it's been a while since I checked.

He meant trendiness, thats pretty specific. Trendsetters are usually people who are famous or all ready very trendy. So others look at them for the latest trends. Its really just an endless cycle.

Don't worry I hate that too. I think its tacky, I think you're normal. I'd never wear anything with a label. I don't want to be labeled.....

One thing I notice about my Taurus ex and I is we were always years ahead of the trends. And then when they became trendy, we ran far away from them.

One small example is he became obssessed with anything zombie at one point (didnt dress like one though LOL! not to worry). I thought it was weird and couldnt make sense of it. Years later (now), zombies are all the rage with the kids these days. LOL

There are more examples, but point is, years later i noticed it -- we are both Taureans. Go figure. Neither of us liked being trendy though, avoided it actually. Anyone who dressed trendily, or in all popular name brand "mall clothes", we probably werent friends with either. It's almost like wearing a neon sign telling people youre a lamer. Find your own style. Second hand stores are great for that.

He was a cool dude. We both have strong Uranuses in our charts. Yeah, i think that mattered - played into it.

Fun thread topic.

....thinking back now....

Taurus and my Leo ex would raid their dad's and granddads closets.... They were both into vintage clothes and had a knack for finding them. Hit the jackpot with their granddads closets after they died. Both grandfathers were pretty stylish dudes. So they made some great finds, wore them and pulled them off really well.

Not really. I noticed people were confused early on when folks started confusing participating in a trend or being the first to jump on the bandwagon, with actually being someone who makes something new, in the first place.

They're two very, very different things. The first person, is a trendy one. The one who goes around wearing the latest fashion look...months after someone underground actually came up with it themselves.

Not the same at all.

This is what I'm saying, exactly. Aries knows about all the popular fashions and trends, but they aren't the ones to invent them, themselves. They're the ones who see it in Vogue magazine and are the first one out of their group of friends to go buy it in a store somewhere. They're the trendsters, not the innovators/creators.

Sag just likes to try different stuff - it's that need for 'adventure' in all forms - but they aren't the ones that, again - innovate, and actually come up with the odd stuff they get into. They just notice something different that someone else came up with that no one else is into yet, and then pick it up themselves. Trendy. Not innovative.

I didnt say Aries werent innovative. But I did note that Aries Sag and even Pisces tend to be trendy not saying others arent but I noticed more with these signs.
