Female Sagittarians make better parents than male ones imo(unless the moon placements say otherwise).My Mom is Sag with Taurus Moon and she is a great parent. I think male Sagittarians make great uncles though; because they are not really hands on and can get away with most stuff because they are so "cool".

My dad is a pretty cool dad. I remember i threw a party at the roof and i made him try absinthe. He almost threw it back up.  yeah parties we can throw them as much as we like. Just not material things. Also we can attend any play, concert we want. I went to all the wwf (wrestling) stuff when i was a kid. I have Capricorn in Mercury too, and I'm also Capricorn-Scorpio dominant. My mum is a Cappy too and has Mercury in Sagittarus. It's so true what you said about the irrational talking. My mum can say really hurtful things, believing they don't matter. Or she can be really ironical and say something hurtful on purpose :/

It`s interesting to read that here, as I am in a reversed situation.I am a Sag Sun-Mercury-Mars-ASC-NN-Neptune with Moon in Aqua and my mother is a Scorpio with Moon in Virgo, ASC in Cancer, Venus and mars in Virgo.
My Dad is Aquarius, but has Mercury in Cap, Moon in Taurus, ASC in Virgo conjunct Saturn (thank God for his Sun-Venus-Jupiter in Aqua, and my mom`s Uranus in 1st house. lol) It is a little bit much earth for my fire.
So it is intersting to read about your other view/ perspective.

Sagittarius parents are the worst! They're abusive emotionally, mentally, and even physically. They're mainly unfaithful! My dad would flirt with women ALL THE TIME, even in front of my mom and I! Very, very, very insensitive. Also, not very smart. No social skills. Also, when it comes to other people's problems, he'd be completely unserious about it unless it affected him. His birthday is December 14th and I'm an Aquarius and my mom is Gemini/Cancer cusp. He felt very entitled to whatever he wanted.IP: Logged |

My stepdad is Sag sun/ Mercury/ Jupiter/ Midheaven.He was great with me and my brother (his step kids) when him and my mum first met, up until he had his own kids a couple of years later (I was five). Then it all changed and it was like the purpose of our (well, mainly me as my bro kept out of his way) existence was to wind up/ inconvenience/ get in the way of him & his kids. I could curl up and die and he would only care if the smell started to offend his own kids. Sometimes ignoring/ spiteful gestures are not enough to sufficiently demonstrate what he thinks, and then he can be out-and-out nasty. Totally dotes on my two half brothers (his sons). Would never correct/ discipline them in a million years and as such they've grown up treating him like a doormat. Would do anything for them. Love = material gestures for him. IP: Logged |

My Sag son, 13, already hates the idea of getting married and having kids. He just can't stand the thought of anyone limiting his independence.But I have a Sag friend who is a really fantastic mother. She and her husband, their son, and her mother-in-law, all live and work out of one big house. She always has babysitters and can be on the move as much as she likes. I think that's why she doesn't get frustrated with her life and take it out on her son.

I have noticed a tendency for Sag to become resentful if they feel their independence is stifled. I know one Sag mother who couldn't help resent her kids because her husband basically got her pregnant to keep her from advancing in her career and then after he died it was too much responsibility for her (though she recognized it wasn't the fault of her kids and made an attempt to do right by them). But after she got a partner who took care of the kids (and did other things that made it more possible for her to travel, go camping, etc) she lightened up and became much better, and the kids themselves noticed and grew closer to their mom. As for being selfish, I don't think Sags are particularly that, BUT they are more HONEST about their selfishness than most other signs which try to hide it behind lies & hypocrisy. Most Sags also have a thick skin so they don't understand how bluntness can hurt (though I know one Sag with a Cancer moon, and she really can't take what she dishes out), many Sags actually think it's condescending or worse to be less than blunt, like treating someone (in their view) as an overly fragile child instead of an adult if they can't just say what they're thinking outright, so they actually mean well by it. They can be an acquired taste, though personally I prefer honesty to having to second guess or figure out what's really meant, but perhaps my Sag moon makes it easy for me to deal with it. In any case I personally cut Sag some slack in this regard. And just for the record, I don't think Sags are bad parents, though like any sign they can be. The signs are more about HOW one is most likely to be good or bad, not IF one is likely to be good or bad. IP: Logged |

My mum is a Sag, she's a great mum- sometimes she has her moments and as we're all getting older she seems to shorten my temper more and more, but damn that girl has drive!On the other hand my uncle (her brother) is a Sag with a birthday a week after her and he's... yeah, very strong personality, has a sense of humour although sometimes it can come across as very mean, very loud and proud. Personally if he were my dad I would have gone nutso. If my uncle ever sees this, I'm sorry! You're a good uncle though! IP: Logged |
