It´s a grim subject, but there have been times (and no worries too btw )when I have thought about it.

I think capricorns can be very depressed and pessimistic, I know severalcapricorn women that wish to die but they wouldn´t actually do it. They just long for the day, so to speak.. Maybe it´s a coincidence, Idk. They say pisces is the most suicidal sign, but idk any suicidal pisces. They are the type that actually do it, without anyone suspecting maybe?

Aspects in my chart that could be relevant

Moon in scorpio (in pisces decan)
Mars in 12th house
neptune sextile ascendant
jupiter conjunction neptune
sun conjunction neptune (8 degrees orb though, don´t know if it counts)

Yeah, Capricorn seems like a sign that wants to die a lot! Also, to me, Taurus seems like if they wanted to do it they would just go ahead and do it. My half-brother committed suicide and my mother has made attempts and would threaten it a lot, and he was a Cancer and she's a Gemini-Cancer cusp.

In transit it happened to me at Saturn return in the 12th; I also think that the natal chart has to carry the promise, as always.
Maybe Saturn in the 12th natally could be one.

The gemini people I know have such terrible mood swings. Happy one moment, depressed the next. They always look so carefree and happy so I was surprised to know that they have attempted suicide many times. Even talking to them when they're depressed is quite difficult because all of the sadness and depression run so deep and are so profound.

Scorpio sun and moon – prone to depression.

Capricorns: some look just sad, but I guess that’s just the way they look. Don’t know if they have depression or suicidal thoughts.

I think Pluto-Saturn transits in 2sc house or 12th house perhaps ? If the person has hard pluto-saturn natally then the transits would probably hit them even harder.

moon conjunct ketu has been found in the natal charts of many heavily depressed people who've been driven to suicide.

Ketu = the South node.

agree with this^

I think its more about aspects than signs really.
Definitely hard aspects between moon and pluto/saturn.

Thou my friend has scorpio moon conjunct pluto and she use to be suicidal when she was young. There was not a good reason why, I think pluto energy so overwhelming for a child.

I checked the transit chart of a person who decided to shoot himself, & he had Transit Pluto opposite mars. Indeed, all of the anger that was kept inside of him for years just blew up. Natally, he had moon conjunct Pluto. I think the Pluto energies were too much for him to handle. He was a very unhappy person, had so much hate towards the world and everybody.

My friend who is suicidal and has tried to kill herself many times has:

Aqua Sun, Cancer moon, Aqua Mercury, Aqua Venus, Mars in Scorpio.

Her Pluto squares her Sun, Mercury, and Venus

Mars square Jupiter

Saturn opposite Chiron

I remember the year she swallowed a bunch of pills and washed it down with a bottle of gin, and ended up in the hospital..

Transits: Saturn conjunct her Cancer Moon (ouch)

Uranus square Saturn (Saturn rules her 8th house- go figure!)

Uranus square Chiron (deep pain)

And Chiron was conjunct her Sun, Mercury, and Venus (more pain!)

She got into more trouble later when Neptune squared her Mars, but not as bad..

In terms of Transits - I'd say Neptune transiting the 8'th House with occasional conjunction between Mercury, Mars and the Moon... Neptune move slower - so those transits will be possible more than once. But, it's more than that... hard aspects is one thing - but also "the state of that person when it happens"... like dealing with a Saturn Return and a Sun that severely weaken by an unfortunate series of events.

It's not always about hating the world and the people in it, in most cases is self-hate but... even love can drive you in that direction - need for affection but also having a lot of love to give and... well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVjsGKrE6E8 - for some people, for some introverts (the kind that feel lonely in the crowds) it's hard to create bonds, it's hard to find others that truly understand them and loneliness gets to them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPRGGsMT_xc loosing hope, loosing your sense of purpose among other things: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82hLvgGuDu8 - and then there are those that see a purpose in that, a last act of kindness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvu2F6t26hs

Loosing a dear one can also be overwhelming for some... a friend from the past lost his father (his alcoholic mother was apparently - to much for him to bare with... for both of them) - and he tried to recover, tried to invest the money inherited from him but... he was still very depressed about it. For some reason he even lived in the same house with his mother, whom was behaving the same - as a cruel reminder to why he lost him. I don't remember his time of birth - but was around summer time... was covering for him on a job and he brought me some cake and a drink - he seemed happy, he was cheerful and... well, guess he was hiding his state of depression to well - cause the next day after that he had an attempt in that direction (he turned the gas on and slept on it) - yet, he was saved and his mother who was close by died.

I've for a long time due to more circumstantial horrors and abuse from family and terrible events have 'had the suicide in me' as Anne Sexton said about herself, though I have had no true heartfelt desire to act on ending life sooner... it's just a dour, pessimistic view that's Saturnine like life would be better over sooner vs. later, and why did I have to be born to begin with, etc.

I'm really Saturnine and I feel that is a common theme with this suicidal ideation thing. But I also feel Chiron, Pluto, and Uranus can all be serious factors as well. Why? Because Uranus = impulsivity and bizarre actions, to go through with it. Pluto for intensity and equal determination to go through with it or think about death. Chiron to sensitive points = old wounds that don't heal, make you want to disappear.

Moon-Chiron conjunction conjunct MC
Moon quindecile Saturn and Chiron
Saturn trine Mercury
Saturn square ASC/DES [ouch... it hurts but not as much as Chiron sq. my ASC]
Saturn trine Venus-Jupiter conjunction [it only gets better right? ow ow ow]
Mars opp. Uranus
Mars in the 8th of death sq. Mercury in Scorpio - literally writing and thinking about death or the afterlife all the time though as a kid it was way more innocent if it ever could be.

Don't you have a Capricorn Moon, virgolotus? I think I remember seeing that. I have one too and was very severely depressed for almost five years, up until a few months ago. Suicidal, although I never actually attempted it, hospitalized twice at two different places at thirteen (I just turned eighteen). I've read that Capricorn Moons get depressed a lot, so maybe that's one of the main culprits?

Pisces Sun
Capricorn Moon/Venus
Taurus Ascendant
Aquarius Mercury
Leo Mars

When I've almost tried it? Pluto square Mercury, and Uranus conjunct Ceres/Chiron/Sun. Saturn was sextile my Uranus/ascendant, and my Mars, so maybe that helped. Mars conjunct Jupiter in my first.

Pluto square that same group that Uranus was conjunct: I've felt it.

As a teenager: Saturn square Ceres/Chiron/Sun, Pluto in the first, square MC/IC. Uranus square Jupiter/Pluto from my third, opposed Saturn. Jupiter trine Uranus/ascendant and Mars. I dropped out of school instead.

Referencing one post above: it had nothing to do with anger, and I didn't hate the world. It was crushing loneliness and a feeling of everything being hopeless. Too hard.

I'll edit this out at some point.

Well, I have a diagnosis of bipolarity, but before I had this diagnosis I had several others (of various types of schizophrenia, for example). Bipolarity, depression, anxiety, panic syndrome, OCD most of the time always go together and with these diseases later on, you will acquire others because they are like a sponge, there are always more surprises. Anyway ... I have been through several types of depression, the worst of which was the period of deep depression that I had for a few years, but I got over it and now I know how to cope. Depression never really goes away for those who have bipolar disorder, it is always coming and going. In some of my suicidal thoughts, I really tried last year, I was hospitalized for a few days, but I didn't want to die, thank God they managed to get me to the hospital in time. Well, I still have suicidal thoughts despite trying not to do that anymore, I cut myself too, I even ran away as a child in one of those bipolarity/depression outbreaks. So now I saw this post and decided to investigate my natal chart and the transits of the day that I tried suicide and wow, I'm surprised.

Placements and aspects on my chart that may be relevant
I have Sun, Mercury, Venus and Chiron in Capricorn
Mars in Pisces (ruler of the ascendant)
Jupiter retrograde in Cancer
Moon, Saturn and North Node in Gemini
Mars, Saturn and Pluto form a T-Square on my chart (My Saturn is retrograde and has aspects afflicted with Mars and Pluto, I would say this would further increase my suicidal thoughts)
I have Pluto in the 8th house (I believe that this position may be another indicator of suicidal thoughts or even an impulse towards suicide if there is another factor on the chart that points to it)
Moon conjunct Saturn (wide orb, 8°33a degrees)
Sun and Venus combust conjunct Chiron
Uranus square Moon (wide orb, 8°48s degrees)
Moon quincunx Venus and Chiron
Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius
Ceres conjunct Neptune
By placid house system I have intercepted signs Aquarius and Leo and duplicate signs Aries and Libra, Aries who is my ascendant is also in my house 12 maybe that explains why I have mental problems, one of the reasons for my depression is the my relationship with my appearance and my difficulty in socializing with others, fear of loving relationships with someone, among other reasons, but maybe this interception that causes this.
The day I attempted suicide I checked the transits and I had Saturn in transit in conjunction with Mercury natal, Mercury in transit in square with Chiron Natal, Chiron in transit in square with Mercury Natal, Pluto in transit in conjunction with Mercury Natal, Moon in transit in trine with Uranus natal, Chiron natal in trine with Uranus in transit, Ceres in transit in conjunction with Pluto natal, Moon in transit square Mercury natal, Mars in transit conjunct Saturn natal, Mars in transit opposite Pluto natal, South Node in transit conjunct Mercury natal. I tried to commit suicide by taking remedy.
In the solar revolution of that year I had Saturn, Pluto and South Node in Capricorn in the 8th house. Uranus of the solar revolution in conjunction with my natal ascendant, Moon of the solar revolution was in virgo in the 3rd house, ascendant the solar revolution in gemini in conjunct with natal saturn, Pluto of the solar revolution in conjunction with natal Mercury, Moon of the solar revolution trine Natal Mercury, Moon of the solar revolution in opposition Mars Natal, Neptune of the solar revolution conjunct Mars Natal, Moon of the solar revolution square Pluto and Saturn natal, Mercury of solar revolution conjunct Pluto natal, Chiron of the solar revolution square South Node natal, Neptune of the solar revolution square Pluto natal, Saturn of the solar revolution opposite to Jupiter natal, Natal Saturn opposite to Jupiter of the solar revolution, Saturn of the Solar revolution in conjunction with Sun natal.
I realized that aspects involving Mercury, Moon, Chiron, Pluto and Saturn appear many times.
I agree with Little Doe that Capricorns tend to be depressed, feel lonely and be pessimistic. Perhaps a placement of Mercury or Moon in Capricorn can cause this. And I also agree that they just want to die, but they don't have the courage to do so. Capricorn is also very spiteful, he plans revenge but hardly puts it into practice. At least me and the capricorns I met were like that. But Scorpio, Cancer and Pisces water signs or stellium of 12th house I believe that they are more likely to feel depressed. MillyX I believe that if you have distressed aspects of Mars / Saturn / Pluto / Moon in your natal chart and in a solar revolution or in transit you are going through a Moon in Aries, this thing about exploding happens. This happened to me in my solar revolution of the Moon in Aries (but we cannot rely on that), I was keeping so many things for myself for so long that there came a time when I blew everything up, I learned from this aspect that accumulating feelings is bad because afterwards you feel suffocated and explode.

My grandfather died by suicide, after a long battle with debilitating illness.

There aren't a whole lot of relevant transits at the time of his death, but these might be noteworthy:

tSaturn sq nSaturn
(Possibly tSaturn or tUranus sq nMoon, but I don't have his birth time, so I can't say for sure.)
tNeptune sq nVenus
tNeptune opp nChiron
tPluto sq nNeptune

Also tUranus trine nJupiter almost exact, which looks more like a sudden good luck type transit... But I guess in a way his death was more of a relief than a tragedy. I mean, it wasn't depression or other mental health problems that drove him to suicide... It was more him deciding that he didn't want to live with becomeing less and less mobile, more and more dependent on others. He didn't want to live a life where he was slowly robbed of everything he enjoyed.

I also have another relative who committed suicide, but I don't have the date of their death handy atm.

He had an 8H Moon/Uranus/Pluto conjunction...all opposite his Pisces Sun/Mars/Chiron conjunction.

He also had 5 Chiron square transits the day he died. Plus, tPluto quintile ASC and Neptune semi-square Neptune…which maybe was causing him a lot of confusion.

This is really interesting. Since this topic has been made a few days ago, I checked what transits were when I had a difficult time in 2012-2015, until 2016, I think, when things started to get better.

Saturn was in Scorpio
North Node in Scorpio

I have my Pluto in Scorpio opposite Moon, and Saturn made a few conjunctions to my Pluto and the tNorth Node too. It was square my Saturn in Aquarius, opposite my venus in Taurus. My Urannus in Capricorn was conjuncting tPluto in 2014.

I didn't get it at that time. It was really confusing period for me.

It was followed by years of depression, in which I wished I was not living anymore, that if I died, I had no problems with that, the only thing that made it better was that I knew that I was depressed and that it will pass in the end. I got better a year ago. I needed a lot of time to get over that time.

Thank you for the post!

Now I'm looking what might happen when Pluto will enter Aquarius and it will conjunct my Saturn.

I can currently attest to everything you've written. I am towards the end of my Saturn Return in the 5th house, transit Neptune is conjunct my Moon moving through my 7th house (I have a Pisces Moon) and transit Saturn is square my Mars. I am at my breaking point. I have endured a childhood full of abuse and even that doesn't compare to the emotional turmoil in my life right now. I wouldn't wish this on anybody. I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through Neptune and Saturn going retrograde soon. The only time I feel relief is when I'm in nature.
