I have a TIGHT orb with the guy I like.
I've always wondered, if this is just a competitive aspect? Like the Sun person always has this drive to beat the Mars person because of ego? Or is it a violent aspect? Uhh it's kinda hard to explain but like.. I saw something on a thread about a tight square between Mars and Sun, and he said it's nothing to worry about, but it IS something you SHOULD know about.Cause in our synastry, me being the Sun and him being the Mars, there is competition going on. A one-sided competition, I always have this drive to beat him, not knowing the reason why.. But I also see him as a motivation for my studies(Yes, to beat him is sort of like a motivation). Man.. My sagittatius optimism is so weird.. Have you guys experienced this? And would you please share your stories about Mars square Sun synastry? IP: Logged |

Its an exact aspect, my Mars in Leo to his Sun in Scorpio. No competition here, we support each other.

Its a sexual aspect, youd be sexually aroused by each other. and jealous of each other .
Me being the Mars - he very often irritates me at a blink of an eye and if he gets me mad - i throw a major temper tantrum at him, i usually break or throw stuff at him which he ducks with an avid swiftness. The fight errupts quickly and usually fizzles out quickly, no hurt feelings.

I had Mars square Sun with my past boyfriend and he beat me every day. that isnt a fun aspect.my mom had it with her abusive boyfriend. THIS is not a good Synastry at all!!! Are you sadistic? IP: Logged |

i have mars (leo) square sun with a lot of my good friends (scorpio). we butt heads when it comes to handling certain things in life which is natural, because i'm more abrasive and get-to-it and they're more suspicious and patient. eh, we all still get along very well? been friends since high school 
edit: i think with this aspect there just has to be a solid foundation of respect. i'll gladly voice my opinion on a lot of things, but at the end of the day i just have to accept and appreciate my friends the way they wish to be. IP: Logged |

Hmmm.. I guess the Mars square Sun really depends on the sign it's in. My Sagittarius Sun squares his Virgo Mars, I always felt intimidated by him because he seems so perfect, and because of that, I wanted to compete with him in every activity; sports, academics, creativity, etc. I see him as a role model too, but there are times when I want to punch something because he beat me. o.o' I'm supportive too at times~IP: Logged |

My sun in sag squares my ex's mars in Virgo. We fought like cats and dogs but we had a lot of 'fighting' aspects between us.. In regards to this aspect, I always got annoyed at his insistence to plan everything ahead of time; I hate planning and prefer things to be spontaneous (in relationships, I mean). He worried way too much about the stupidest stuff (his mars is conjunct his Jupiter in the 6th house in Virgo). I was like, "RELAX!!" lol. He thought I was disorganized and irresponsible (true). For sure! Harmonious aspects between other planets will balance things out.. Like, if your Sun is square his Mars, nice aspects to your Sun from his Moon, Venus and/or Jupiter, for example, can make things more tolerable. And nice aspects to his Mars will smooth things out, as well! IP: Logged |

I have sun square mars with the guy I like. I´m the mars (libra), he´s sun (capricrn).We were VERY competitive from day one, without knowing why. I think we both admired eachother so much, especially eachothers drive and energy, and because there was sexual attraction it felt like we were always trying to prove like we could keep up with the other. I think it´s an aspect that creates alot of tension in a relationship, but the tension is built on attraction that has an element of danger attached to it. Both are always worried that the other person will outdo them somehow. It´s weird.. We´ve known eachother for a year, but are still intimidated by eachother. It feels like if we were to come closer something would explode. There is so much tension.
I think that sun admires mars and their way of doing things, and mars feels seen by the sun (like sun lights up mars´s power). But the powerstruggles are pretty vicious. I have to say though, I think this aspect can be tamed with time, if both people work hard on tking care of eachother and focusing on being more soft, and if there are more soft aspects in synastry, then this aspect is actually very good for sexual attraction, and excitement. Like I sai, we´ve known eachother for a year, and whenever I see him sparks still fly. (Idk if he feels the same, but I think so). IP: Logged |

A couple things...How would Mars in Taurus square Sun in Virgo play out? Would the combativeness still be as strong? I have this double whammy aspect with someone and my Mars in Cap squares her Aries sun. We're at a pointless stalemate over nothing right now but I think that's either her Venus or Mercury in Pisces at play On the upside we do also have moon Mars double whammy to even things out I hope...does anybody have any experience with anything similar to this? I cringe when I read such harsh generalizations because there are so many other aspects that contribute to a specific behaviour than just one. For instance...this aspect is NOT responsible for someone abusing another human being physically. That is sick, and beyond what astrology should justify.I can tell you from experience having had Mars sq. Sun DW in synastry with a man I dated, it does NOT always spell doom. He and I were the best of friends and rarely fought, and are still friends even to this day. The most I can say is it may have caused some friendly banter back and forth but it never escalated to abuse or competitiveness. IP: Logged |
