Second house moons "are sometimes emotional spenders and will indulge in shopping purges when feeling insecure".This is sorta true but I sorta feel most people do this. IP: Logged |

Not me either. It probably depends on how your moon is aspected with other planets, but it will generally revolve around finances to some degree. For example, I have a 2nd house moon in aspect to a 10th house sun and mars and pluto and venus stellium, so it creates a desire to earn money through career. Look at the aspects to your moon and the houses those planets are in because it will allow you to see more clearly how your moon 'acts' given its 2nd house placement. I imagine an afflicted moon or one opposed to jupiter or venus might create bad luck with funds or financial decisions. Also depends on sign of the moon - as a cap moon I am very conservative with money whereas a leo (for example) may not be. IP: Logged |

This is true, everybody does this. Most people start "treating" themselves to stuff if they feel bad, anxious, insecure or whatever. I do it after I've had a rough time, even if it's something really small I pay myself for my suffering lmao. Second house is more than just what you own though, it's also your value system in a more intangible sense.

Well my moon trines Venus in Sixth and Mars in Tenth what would this mean? quote: Also depends on sign of the moon - as a cap moon I am very conservative with money whereas a leo (for example) may not be.[/B]
How would a Scorpio moon be with money and possessions? IP: Logged |

This is absolutely right. I mean, what Chirp said. The emphasis on finances, that somehow came up in astrology, is actually just a secondary expression. The basis of the 2nd house though is what you value, what is of worth to you (and that of course includes the immaterial things!). It is also indicative of your self-worth, and as a consequence what you bring into a sexual relationship (as the polarity of the 8th house). With the Moon there (i have it, too), all these areas are pretty sensitive, and it might be that your feeling of selfworth is fluctuating, depending on how you feel at the moment. It is not easy for me to grasp it, as my Moon in Aquarius in 2nd house is unaspected, though. however basil fearrington had some videos and articles on the 2nd house. http://www.themetaarts.com/archives/200307/basilfearington.html IP: Logged |

The 2nd house is about tangibles and what we can "possess".I think of it as the house of "possessions" and anything that is "ours". So the Sun in 2nd house will embark on the world to acquire tangibles and possessions as a status symbol "Look at what I have" will be the motto here "Surely, what I have is an indication of the success that I am". But the Moon in 2nd will instinctively respond(unconsciously) to possessing and acquiring tangibles because they make him/her feel secure."If I could get that car/that house/that person, I'll be happy and satisfied". So when Moon is transiting the 2nd house, it can make us aware of what we "need" in as far as tangibles , to make us feel "whole" or what we really have to have. When the Moon is in the 2nd house, we can go for retail therapy and spend a lot on things that make us feel "secure" or give us a sense of security. During this transit or if a person has this position natally, owning things(like a house, a car, money etc) may be motivated by a need to feel secure and 'all is well' with the world etc. Moon in 2nd are also noted for hoarding and binge eating. I have two friends with this position natally. The first one has a large collection of books and if you borrow one, it's like pulling teeth. He sees the books as "valuables" that he never wants to be parted from. The second one doesn't have "valuables" but refuses to throw things away for fear that he may need them later on.

Ehhh I can slightly relate to this, mostly with the binge eating because I eat because I'm bored and never throwing anything away because I might need it. o my advantage never throwing anything away always saves my day in the end because I put those items to use or give it to someone who needs it. But what I disagree with is equating my value with my physical possessions. I could care less about what I physically have. I lose things so easily. I think my second house moon can have more to do with my appearance and self-esteem. When I'm feeling pretty and flawless I feel better about myself. I change my appearance often because I feel uncomfortable when I don't. Changing my appearance is almost like shedding a skin for me which could explain my Moon in Scorpio in the second house. A new appearance gives me a fresh start and looking the same all the time drains my energy and I don't feel as good about myself. IP: Logged |

Well, I'd say it has more to do with your self-esteem. Appearance is a 1st house matter. Think of it this way: We direct the energy and traits of our Moon sign toward the things that the house its in represents. The 2nd house is all about value, possessions, personal resources, feeling a sense of stability. You find a sense of comfort and emotional security in these things, a bit like a Taurus Moon. But, it's different because you unconsciously pursue them with Scorpio intensity and passion. Your feelings around this area of life are very strong and powerful. I'd say you're probably very, very attached to your possessions, money, material comforts, etc. It's interesting to have your Scorpio Moon in the house of Taurus, as it makes the Taurus-Scorpio polarity particularly strong in your life. Self-indulgence is probably taken to an extreme, especially when you're feeling down, and you crave stability but have a particularly hard time achieving it because your emotions are so volatile. I'd also say you're probably extremely possessive, to the point where you might not give others room to breathe (but this can be mitigated by your Moon's aspects). Letting go is a HUGE challenge for you. On the positive side, Scorpio Moon in the 2nd makes you one of the most resourceful people around, particularly money-wise. You can make a dollar out of 15 cents, so to speak. You also probably have killer business instincts and the strong sensuality of your Scorpio Moon becomes even more pronounced. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |
