Ok, MirMy sun/ moon midpoint = his Venus/ Mars midpoint by an exact opposition. 21' Cancer ( mine) and 21' Capricon( his) . His venus pisces and Mars scorpio rounds my sun virgo and moon gemini. Is that a bear hug ? IP: Logged |

Yes, in my experience, they are, if they are tight. IP: Logged |

A bear hug needs to have the same planets, though this is still a very significant midpoint picture I think, especialy with Jupiter having triggered both. But it is not a bear hug, as per Cochrane`s definition. IP: Logged |

Well, I said it was rather wide. lol his Mercury on 9 Sag my Mercury on 25 Sag my Venus on 6 Cap his Venus on 26 Cap IP: Logged |

With midpoints? 1,5 degree. For midpoints involving Sun, Moon, ASC, MC (two of them) 2 degrees are also okay. But of course better under 1,5 degrees. IP: Logged |

our compoiste Moon: 22.52 Capricorn my Sun/Moon-mp: 21.31 Capricorn orb: 1°21(I certainly feel that though, even with the wide orb) our composite Sun: 26.27 Sagittarius his Sun/Moon-mp: 27.48 Sagittarius orb: 1°21 no clue if he feels it.
just for a good giggle
First meeting chart: Jupiter: 22.05 Capricorn Juno: 26.27 Sagittarius also interesting, last friday had Jupiter 22.57 Cancer and Moon was within one degree of the exact placement it was when we first met (right on both Mercury/Venus-mps) Juno was not on the Sun though, it was quinkunx from 27.55 Taurus

only if activated by a planet or transit. Then it can become a pretty significant thing actually. IP: Logged |

I decided to check the composite placements to my midpoints and...IC - Venus/Neptune exact -_- ASC - Neptune/Chiron exact -_- Neptune - Mercury/Neptune -_- Neptune - Pluto/Vertex Uranus - Sun/Pluto exact Moon and Pluto - Jupiter/Pluto Vertex and the SN - Venus/Chiron -_- Btw, what do you think about Venus conjunct Sun/Vertex in one chart? ------------------ I'm sooo happy! Great thread! It belongs to Interpersonal Astrology, IMO.I don't understand the Bear Hug though! Personally, I believe any close pattern involving the luminaries or Venus Mars or the same two planets is very binding. Is this a Bear Hug? compatibility key 3: composite planet conjunct or opposition a natal planet This is definitely significant. Although the likelihood of having a natal planet conjunct a composite planet is probably very high. After all, the composite is the midpoints between personal planets, which puts the composite planets in about the same range as the natal planets. Or am I wrong? My question: what about natal planets squaring composite planets? it is like a natal planet squaring a midpoint, so couldn't this be significant too?
For example, my natal Sun squaring our Moon/Moon mdp (the composite Moon) IP: Logged |

"I don't understand the Bear Hug though!" Kinda hard to keep one`s head around, I agree. Anyway, you have the same two set of planets, they are equidistant from each other, but one person`s planets brackets the other person planets. Example: my Pluto 9 Libra his Pluto 21 LIbra his Mercury 9 Sag my Mercury 25 SAg here my Mercury and Pluto surround his. our Mercury`s are 14 and 12 degrees off each other (it is close enough I suppose) my Pluto sextiles his Mercury (00 degres) his Pluto sextiles my Mercury (3-4 degrees) So there is this Double Whammy. This results in both Mercury/Pluto-mps being conjunct each other (around 15 and 17 Scorpio, which I find telling as our composite MC is right there. lol)
This is a bear hug of MErcury and Pluto, on the basis of a synastric DW sextile.
"Although the likelihood of having a natal planet conjunct a composite planet is probably very high." Why?
" After all, the composite is the midpoints between personal planets, which puts the composite planets in about the same range as the natal planets." Depends, if you are born close to each other, maybe.
However people could be born in total different times of the year. In my experience tight conjunctions between composite planets and vital natal objects ar enot to be underestimated, and often easily explain why people feel so differently in the same relationship. "al planets squaring composite planets? it is like a natal planet squaring a midpoint, so couldn't this be significant too?" I would count it.

Thanks for the explanation, Ceri, now I got it I don't know why I have this impression, that it might be a mathematical occurence for natals to conjunct composites, but I may be wrong, I need to research more into this. Anyway, I definitely love the idea of this natal/comp superposition and this: In my experience tight conjunctions between composite planets and vital natal objects ar enot to be underestimated, and often easily explain why people feel so differently in the same relationship. In our composite:His Moon conjuncts composite Venus on ASC. it's by 5 deg, but I can't discount it. Composite ASC is 2 deg more to the left lol The whole thing happens on my own MC/IC (his Moon is on my MC in the synastry)- also squares my Moon. My Mars conjuncts composite Moon (0) His ASC conjuncts composite Moon (2) His Valentine/Lust as well (2) There is some sort of Yin/Yang here, IMO. Composite Mars opposes his natal Venus (3) Composite Jupiter/IC opposes my natal Venus exact, so my natal Venus conjuncts composite MC. Composite Vertex conjunct his Mars (3) Composite Valentine conjunct my Mercury (1), composite Lust conjunct his Vesta (1) Composite Union conjunct my Sun/Venus mdp, the most sensitive point in my chart. In Davison, My Venus conjuncts IC (2), Davison Venus conjuncts my natal IC (2) His Moon opposes Venus (2) - there is again the connection between his Moon and composite Venus, on the Vertex axis. The whole thing happens on my natal MC/IC as well. Davison Moon/Jupiter/Juno conjuncts his natal Sun exact - a few minutes (the Moon), opposes mine by 1.
