How does the 29th degree work on the ascendant? I'm a Virgo rising at 29 degrees, almost Libra rising. IP: Logged |

I think it does. I had a childhood friend at 29 Gemini and also my youngest sister at 29 Gemini; both DEFINATELY come across as Gemini, NOT Cancer, even though my youngest sister is a solar Cancer.IP: Logged |

Where's your Mercury by sign and by house? That would have an effect on how a Virgo rising would come across, too.IP: Logged |

I think that the 29th degree in the rising sign means that the rising houses a LOT of the energy of that particular sign for the person's outer mask to the world. And yet, the person is sometimes if not often discontent with the type of energy and has a yearning for a different image, a different look, a different way of coming off to people...no shock that it's the energies of the next sign. The yearning for the next sign is usually strong in a 29th degree planet a lot of the time, though maturity of a planet/person's mindset is when he/she grows to accept it for what it is and stops yearning since the ticker stopped ticking at 29 and it ain't gonna move! :P Hah. So, you likely wish you could stop being so obsessed over the details of your appearance, modest or simplistic in dress, perfectionistic, etc. and come out with a more graceful, poised, and sociable flair. You're likely a solid person but too introverted for your own tastes. But 29 Virgo can be useful for many things. Your rising houses a lot of Virgo energy which means you can come off as classy and poised in your own right.  IP: Logged |

The yearning of the next sign? Yes, sometimes my 29 degree Virgo rising teeter-totters between wanting stay reserved and social and outgoing all at the same time if that's what you mean.There's no doubt I'm Virgo rising. I'm shy upon first meeting people. I'm always fidgeting with something between my fingers. I don't know where to place my hands when walking. I'm critical and analytical and I notice EVERYTHING. People think I'm mean before they get to know me. I'm used to it.

That's totally what I was getting at. Like you're on the fence between signs and close enough to the next sign that you could take the leap, but often it doesn't always work out in your favor. It doesn't feel like the 'real you', maybe? Having Merc in Capricorn only makes you seem more serious and reserved. But hey, it isn't bad to be like that! I can't believe people think you are mean before meeting you...then again, I kinda can, as I have the same issue with people. OTL
