Ever since my astrology course in January I’ve been more and more interested in midpoints. They’re still new to me but I’m slowing starting to understand how they work. I found some great articles giving short summaries of almost all midpoints and planets that fall on them. Sun Midpoints Moon Midpoints Mercury Midpoints Venus Midpoints Mars Midpoints Jupiter Midpoints Saturn Midpoints Uranus Midpoints Pluto Midpoints I’m sorry I couldn’t find the Neptune and Node midpoints.
I used the software Astrophoenix (Astrophönix) to calculate my midpoints. I personally find my Moon falling on midpoints to be the most powerful. I have: Moon to midpoint Sun/Node Moon to midpoint Venus/Node Moon to midpoint Saturn/Neptune Do you use midpoints? If so what are they and how do you work with them?

Yes, I am using midpoints, especially if the planets are in aspect to each other. The midpoint is the middle between the two planets, and a point where both energies meet/ merge/ get synchronized. It is like a three way aspect, though I usually interprete it this way: The planet which is on (or square) the midpoint of two other planets is characterized by those planets. Example: my tightest midpoint is: Moon = (square) Mercury/Pluto My emotional core (Moon) is characterized through deep, probing analysis (Mercury/Pluto) If someone elses planet falls onto my midpoint, this person´s planet triggers or activates the combination of energies of the midpoint in me.
Example: I have NN conjunct Neptune and both square Jupiter natally. My Jupiter/NN and Jupiter/Neptune-midpoint are on 26 Capricorn.
A guy`s Venus is conjunct within a degree orb. His relating style, but also his artistic inclination (Venus) is triggering these midpoints inside of me, and it is true whenever he is close, I am filled with a deep idealistic optimism, like there is an unlimited potential, I become aware of through him more easily, and it gives some sense of purpose or meaning. A celebrity example. Jude Law`s Mercury is exactly conjunct my Venus/Mars-mp. I am not going into the interpretation of this one though.

Whoa, thanks for the info. *right click* I also use midpoints, mostly in synastry. My most powerful natal midpoint contact is Uranus conjunct Venus/Pluto at 0.00 - Venus mixed with Uranus and Pluto, powerful, compulsive emotions arosed suddenly and sweep me off my feet. Astrologer Noel Tyl is big on Midpoints and has goiod studies on it.IP: Logged |

Interesting, thanks! Off the top of my head I have Venus conjunct Sun/Moon Midpoint by less than a degree. And since its an axis, the other side is conjunct Saturn/Uranus/Sag Also my Sun and POF are conjunct my moon/Pluto midpoint.
Haven't been able to find anything about vertex conjunct sun moon midpoint

Wow, what an exact midpoint! Robert Hand states actually that direct midpoints (conjunction and opposition) are just as important as the major aspects. On the cosmitec site they stay that midpoints within 0°01 are THE strongest factors in any chart. Interestingly, the midpoint you mentioned, I have it in synastry. His Uranus conjunct my Venus/Pluto-midpoint (0°48). I am not sure how to interprete it as of yet (as I am always unsure about the outer planets as focal points), but found it interesting, especially sine my Neptune and NN and ASC are conjunct HIS Venus/Pluto-mp.

I have that, too. Vertex is conjunct my far Sun/Moon-mp by 7 minutes of arc I believe.

Ceri, Uranus is not going to be felt by him within that midpoint pucture, but it will affect your Venus/Pluto midpoint, similar to Uranus conjuncting your Venus with a touch of deep Pluto intensity, I would expect sudden infatuation, a very electric sort if shattering and hard to undetstand wave of emotions. Vertex is a calculated geometrical point and Moon/Sun is a midpoint, not a body, so they won't affect each other as neither of them emit energy..but, when someone else touches your Vertex by exact conjunction simultaneously with your Sun/Moon, I would expect a profound effect on your being. You have that encoded in your chart, a gift of sort. A fated, all encompassing kind of encounter.

Yes, that is true, and I would also inteprete the outers as focal points this way. Well, even with personal planets on the focal point, it is usually the midpoint-person that feels the energy the strongest.

And for asteroid-enthusiasts my EROS is on the very same degree of my Vertex and far Sun/Moon-mp (21-22 Cancer), with asteroid DESTINN on 23 Cancer and PAN on 21 Cancer as well. lol my personal axis of destiny.

The only exact midpoint I have is Venus/Pluto to my ASC ... I noticed I have two completely contrasting personalities. Maybe other aspects could have resulted into this , but I'm suspecting this aspect more because both my venus and pluto reside in opposite signs. Also, It states somewhere that this midpoint on the ASC will result into a personality that craves power and love. I find this to be so true. IP: Logged |

yeah, the only drawback is that now anyone who does not measure up your "axes of destiny", would be dismissed by you for not being special enough. I bet my money on it ;-) p.s. your Anti-Vertex conjuncts your near midpoint at 21-22 Capricorn, so both midpoints are linked to the Vertex axis anyway. btw, my Sun/Moon midpoint is at 21'43 Cancer, like you, but I don't have any fancy Vertex or Eroses conjunct my midpoint. ;( IP: Logged |

Jinx! I believe I have a 2 degree orb. My SM midpoint is equal distance from my vertex and venus IP: Logged |

My Moon/mercury is 1 minute from Venus - just checked it outOk before I blow up this thread, I started looking at other midpoints. It's crazy, I think I'm finding explanations for holes in my chart I could figure out. Like Neptune to Sun/Jupiter and MC to Jupiter/Pluto to name a couple Thanks again!! IP: Logged |
