I have prominent Venus and I can sorta relate but not really. I have moon in Taurus so I dunno who's to blame, lol. Even with my Taurean moon, I cannot keep up with my Taurean friends in terms of materialism, even they comment on it. One told me I could never understand, I don't have a Taurus sun. He is into fabric textures and interior decorating, furniture and how to construct it. A total Epicurean and that is the one word I would use to describe Taurus suns.
Another Taurus sun's friend's father is a Taurus sun too and he is obsessed with cars and wanted to have a front yard full of old ones that needed work he bought at auctions. I could never do something like that. I want my yard to be full of beautiful flowers and rare plant life. I have an aesthetic in mind but it doesn't involve old cars. Difference between Taurus and Libra and Libra always wins out.

Voltaire, I think, is Taurus sun and he's an authority on Epicurus.
Edit - Voltaire happens to be a Scorpio sun. Could of swore I read in an astrology book somewhere he had a Taurus sun haha.

Well, that's interesting. There's a thread floating around here about the chart of atheists and two strong critics of organized religion, Voltaire and Carl Sagan happen to have sun in Scorpio and I thought both their suns were in different signs.

I don't see any connection to their mythologies...
Vulcanus-Hephaistos has no interactons with Neptunus-Poseidonas and Gaia doesn't have any with Pluton-Hades. Now, if you suggest Ceres-Dimitra, the link they share is Ploutonas, who later became a base of the Roman Pluton.
What would you say these two Planets represent?

Well when I was younger, I used to be very materialistic, but now I'm not at all and can care less for materials, I'm not artistic at all whatsoever either, but that can be my Virgo Sun, lol. The Libras I notice are not all that artistic but they almost always appreciate aesthetics and morals.

Mythology does not set the logical rules to Astrology as to which planets rule the signs.
They rule those signs because they represent the characteristics of them.
One theory I hypothesized for Virgo's ruler before I learned about Vulcan was that Ceres, Chiron and Vesta (and maybe Pallas)used to be apart of one bigger body that was Virgo's ruler. But I believe now that Vulcan is Virgo's ruler.
Taurus is the most practical and earthiest of the signs, so I believe Earth rules Taurus, just like the Sun rules Leo.

You have a lot of Mercury going on between those two.
And, your Virgo sun stands out due to your chart ruler being the sun

Okay, so maybe it doesn't. But then let me ask; where did the traits come from? As for Gaia ruling Taurus, I have Taurus rising, but I'm not at all earthy, so I don't agree with that just yet. As for Hephaistos, I see it as more of a Capricornus figure as opposed to Virgo.

Ascedants alone doesn't really reveal their whole (rising) personality, it's the sign their ruling planet is situated in that gives a more significant influence.
I'm a Leo Ascendant and I'm not attention seeking, boastful or creative at all, lol.
While yes I'm competitive like a Leo, it isn't for admiration sense, but rather a sense of superiority and perfectionism. I couldn't care less what they think, as long as I know I'm better than them at a certain thing and acheiving it at my own full potential, I'm satisfied, lol.
It's ruler the Sun is in Virgo, so I act very much like one.

I think Vulcan rules Virgo because Vulcan is an Intra-Mercurial planet, it is very close to the Sun. So while Mercury controls our communication and intellect, Vulcan controls our logical and critical thinking, which lays out the foundation as to how our communication and thoughts (Mercury) is formulated.

Yeah, lol.
I know that is a reason I act more like a Virgo than I should.
My Mercury is in Libra, I rather it be in Virgo, but it's in the 3rd House, so I guess this makes up for that, lol.
My Vulcan is at 1 degree Libra, lol
Neither of Virgo's rulers are in their own signs

How about you?

Okay, that's a good point. My Aphrodite is in Gemini, one of the least earthy signs, so that has something to do with it. But has the thought occurred that their Rulers might not have been discovered?

Also I think (not sure, lol) that we are both talking about two different Vulcans.
I'm talking about Vulcan, I think you're talking about Vulkanuss maybe? (it's another Astrological point, not sure if it's an asteroid or comment or something) Or it's spelled something like that, lol.

Well that's the thing, I'm not 100% sure, that is why I created this thread to read other people's opinions about it, lol.

What is your Sun/Moon/Ascendant/Mercury? lol

A Trans-Neptunian Point, actually. No, I'm not refering to Vulkanus, I'm referring to what you refer to as Vulcan (I call it Hephaistos). I've never paid much attention to the Uranian Points. Sorry 'bout that. ^_^'

I have a Virgo sun, Taurus moon and Libra rising with Mercury in Libra conjunct the ascendant, Jupiter and Uranus. I'm kinda happy with Libra Mercury because my mom has it in Virgo so been there, done that. Mine is easy going but it likes to do unto others what they do unto me sometimes :/
Does your Libra Mercury ever do that?
It's a new take on the Golden Rule, heh.

I think Ceres is a better fit for Virgo than Vulcan. What are Vulcan's traits, any ways? What does Vulcan represent?

Ceres represents care and service, giving and receiving. Where your Ceres is placed shows what you wish to provide others, how you go about helping people, and how you interact with your environment. I have Ceres in Leo conjunct my Mars - I love making people laugh, I like to think of myself as a force to bring my more homebodied friends a social life, take them out, and I think entertainment is one of the best things I can provide others!

I've noticed Virgos tend to love nature and often have plants in their houses. That would Ceres, I imagine, because you have to water and care for plants and in exchange, you get to enjoy their nature presence and aesthetic.

@Sailor Gemini; I love reading your posts! Because you use different names, it's almost like your speaking another language and it's so fun!!

Not really revenge but if someone is rude to you, you are rude back to them. Justice kinda thing? Does your Mercury ever feel compelled to give them what they deserve lol.

You can calculate it on Astrodienst.com
It's at the extended chart selection under "hypothetical planets and points"

If you're unsure of how to get it, I can do it for you
