Ya didn't Jack try climbing on too and it started to tip? Idk, I think taking turns would have just killed them both any ways.

LOL. I think the only time I've seen a female be the hero was in fast 6 .. When Gisele let herself die instead of Han .. I can't remember any other movie where the female sacrifices herself to save the guy =\

I know right. She should have just stayed on the boat and Jack might have lived if she had because he would have been the only one on that clock debris. He would have had to jump off and get that whistle and blow it at the search and rescue.
Irony!

It's only a movie. Fiction. Scream at the writers for the story line. I will never understand why some choose to get bothered about some made up fairy tale drivel from the 1990s? If the lovers tale was a true story, then it would warrant conversation. The Titanic going down was true but I'm not sure just how factual the events were portrayed in the movie compared to the actual sinking.

Back in the early 1900s, chivalry was rampant. Women were protected but oppressed in society. Great great progress has happened since then.

In some cases, era movies, possibly need to be viewed with an understanding of the era and with an objective mind.

Maybe to some it would be poor fairy tale love story writing. Again, it's only a fictional love story movie.......though the ship going down was a real fact.

I feel so earthy tonight with an air of detachment.

So what about the other characters like Cal and that nasty mother? The unsinkable Molly Brown was a character in the movie and a real live passenger on the ship. I just wonder how closely portrayed this lady was in the movie and if the character matched the natal chart. That is my query . Perhaps for another thread, when I get around to it.

Well said....
The love story of jack and rose is completely fictionally, all the other events and the details of the ship sinking are based on the actually details..
I.e.
Kids playing on the deck
Not enough life boats, not filling them to capacity.
The orchestra playing on deck, while the ship was sinking.
Molly brown was "new money" not well liked, and stood up for people.
Third class getting locked in during the sinking.
The ship speeding up, to get to NY faster, to further impress people.

Etc etc

Yes, it's true, 12thhouser. That was very sad. They both should have gotten to live imo. My guess is Cameron attempted to stay true to the era when it was expected men be chivalrous so he ruled out letting Jack live.

In my opinion Rose was a Cancer, Jack was a Scorpio

Jacks dumb arse was a pisces, he was willing to die for that annoying, whiny, simpering, pretentious petulent hussy.

Rose in all her self absorption and unjustified snootiness had to be a Virgo with a leo ascendant.

I hate this movie anyway. Always have. I still say Camerons best work was the first Terminator movie.

I'd say Jack is Scorpio mixed with Gemini or Libra.

Rose strikes me as Virgo or Libra mixed with some fire (Aries or Sag).

Cal would either be Capricorn or Taurus (possessive, concerned with material wealth and public persona, status oriented).

I agree that Cal was prolly (hell, definitely) Taurus, but not a sweet Capricorn!

The movie was terrible. I love how it's always the woman's fault. Jack made his choices, and her fiance and that other woman were terrible. The best thing that came out of it, was the memes.

Hi! I was wondering how you were.

I’ve just downloaded this goose goose duck game to my phone, because I’m not feeling so good. Not really sick, I think it’s the humidity and lack of sleep. I somehow lost at least a month, it feels like it should be May, not the summer solstice. I was trying to get on with things, and then another cat was really sick, dad got a bad head injury, we’re lucky that he’s okay, and his work was switched up, because he lost Mail bags (they lost the contract), so he’s working six days a week, most weeks, and I’m back to being a ghost. Really need to see the dentist, too.

Wait, so you need a new account? I’ll look for you there.

Why TF should women be dying for men?? You're soo eager to pick up a man (muscular legs dangling) and carry him out of a burning building, huh? Send women off to war while the men stay back and bake cookies for the kiddos? LOL

I do not understand the way that some of you think these days. 🤷🏾‍♀️ This obsession with Role Reversal is strange & highly off-putting.

No way Jack was a Gemini. Nor a Pisces. Neither of these signs are particularly brave like Jack was! 🤷🏾‍♀️ (Could see him having Mercury in those signs though. Maybe 12H or 3H influence explains his love of Art)

To me... he embodied a mix of Sagittarius, Aries & Scorpio. 🔥 Jack was well-traveled, adventurous, brave, clever & passionate. He had strong faith in himself to handle *whatever* life threw at him. He was strategic and knew when to take action. Very admirable character!

As for Rose... no way she was an Aries - she wasn't authentic enough, fun enough nor bold enough to be one of us. ♈️ Sorry.

Not a Cancer either. As she doesn't care much about her family, her fiance or societal traditions around her.

Rose feels like an uptight Virgo who eagerly wants to cut loose; An Aquarius who hates the idea of anything "normal" and is rebellious just for the hell of it; A reckless Sag wanting excitement but forgetting to think before taking action; Or a Gemini who is bored out of her f**king mind and dying to get some "fresh" air & perspective.

Was I p**sed that Jack died?? Absolutely! 💯 I cried the first few times I watched that scene. Rose isn't my favorite but I can't place ALL the blame on her for his death. Jack *chose* to give up his life for her. Which was very honorable. 🩷 At the end of the day though, it's just a movie. So I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

My dad learned to sew, in the Air Force. They are taught to take care of themselves. He taught my mum how to cook. It doesn’t make him any less masculine, either.

That's nice.

But what does that have to do with my point about obsessing over "saving" men? 🤷🏾‍♀️

A man playing the Hero in a movie isn't something that we need to waste energy on or feel the need to challenge.
