What kind of grades do you make in your math classes?
Well, it depends if I try, to be honest. Grades in school prove nothing more than effort. I generally don't get good grades in school, really. I also miss a lot of school too, so missing the work and not being able to catch up makes a dramatic impact as well. I do get good grades in English, but that's because it doesn't require much effort and it's fun for me. IP: Logged |

Why do you miss so much school? IP: Logged |

Haha, I'd knew you ask that. I really don't want to talk about it. It's personal and kinda embarrassing as to why. One reason is I just don't like it. Plain and simple. Another reason is because of social reasons. IP: Logged |

okay
I did edit that post though. I don't like telling people the first reason because they then think less of me. But at the same time, if I don't, I feel like I'm lying to people and myself. I like being honest. I have many critiques about school that I'd rather not share. IP: Logged |

As you know, I have Mercury square Uranus. That is the only aspect that I have to my Mercury, which is in Pisces. 6th House placement. Math was my least favorite subject in school. I can do the basics well but once you get far into geometry or algebra, I start tuning OUT. Like you, I loved Foreign Language in school! I got A's across the board. I also enjoyed English/Writing a lot. I was pretty decent in History & Science too. IP: Logged |

You don't have to explain. Just that you don't like talking about it is good enough for me.

Virgo Mercury in 7th house Sun conjunct Mercury Mercury square Moon Mercury conjunct Venus Mercury square Mars Mercury trine Uranus Mercury trine Neptune Mercury trine Saturn Mercury sextile PlutoI struggled with math when I was younger and didn't really get a handle on it until I had no choice (I have to do math everyday for my job.) I personally blame my 3rd house cusp in Taurus - it takes some time and patience for me to learn new things that I'm not interested in. I love languages, reading, writing and research, though. It's always been a natural talent, even from a young age. IP: Logged |

I'm really good at Math. In fact Math is my favourite subject, and it was the probably the only type of subject where I didn't have much anxiety over come exam time. I used to be bad at Maths when I was in primary school and early high school, then when I entered year 8, all of a sudden Math made sense to me and I was getting 90%+. I'm a late bloomer as usual.Mercury in Cancer in 11th house. Mercury trine Venus Mercury trine Saturn Mercury trine Jupiter IP: Logged |

Mercury square Uranus - orb of 4 Mercury square Neptune - orb of 3 Mercury quincunx Pluto - orb less than 1 Mercury is also the ruler of my Midheaven.Well, I don't necessarily "suck" at math. I just hate it. The art of language comes more easily to me. All of this said, my math skills have improved somewhat since the last time I took a math class, which I find strange considering how much I hate it. IP: Logged |

this is just a theory of mine without any substance in real life evidence, but I suspect it may be the jupiter square? details may annoy you to the point that going into the components of a formula results desperating... jupiter allows to see the big picture but it is not happy with details. on the other hand the sign of your mercury may tell also part of the story, if you tell me it is in capricorn or gemini or virgo or libra or acuarius I would be surprised...IP: Logged |

I feel like I was always really good at math, even though I was terrible at homework and didn't really do all that well in school.. haha maybe that's why I got so good because I had to take the same classes over and over again.. and it wasn't because I didn't know anything but from lack of effort I suppose.. but I'm a libra, virgo moon, mercury at 29 virgo in the 6th house, as well as my sun and mars conjunct my mercury as well, making squares to Neptune, saturn, uranus and Jupiter opposition. I get pretty confused easily, and I feel like my views are entirely sideways sometimes ha, but once I get something I feel like my comprehension of the overall structure is really good. math was one of the only subjects I would actually do my homework on in high school ha.. of course next to art. art is life! my dad is also a virgo, virgo rising, sun, mars, merc conjunction in the 1st house, with pluto conj ascendant and hes super good at math! he calculates stuff in his head all ze time, he also has a strong Saturn on the IC. this leads me to think the more "logical"and penetrating signs/planets when well placed would be good at the black and white of mathematics. Saturn, Capricorn, Uranus influence, pluto influence, virgo, mercury.since mars and jupiter is so curious and likes challenges I can see those planets expanding on intellectual wit for sure. air signs in general I think could if other signs compliment the more logical aspects of the signs. not good at math is definitely the more abstract signs/planets. cancer/moon is great at memory, but unless they are emotionally interested its kind of up in the air and other placements would definitely have to influence.. though some of the smartest people I have ever met with the best memory have been cancers and they were so good at math!! Neptune and pisces is definitely a no haha, its just total confusion amongst the chaos, healing and creativity is more suited. venus might add laziness too, Taurus slows the mental faculties down, and leo, like cancer I feel is very subjective in what they choose to invest in.. sort of up in the air, though I don't know any who are good at math either. creative folk too, and glamorous!! so fab.. hehe IP: Logged |

Mercury Conjunct Sun Mercury Conjunct Moon Mercury trine Mars Mercury trine plutoNot a math whiz, but I'm above average. I can calculate tax while I'm making purchases on the spot and am fairly accurate about upcoming bills. My Parents always scared me away from Math and if I started earlier it would be a different story, there both Cancers. I'm a Software Engineering Major so math is a fundamental skill I've learned. I learned to program first and then had to learn how to calculate computation times. For example if I was Randall I would brake down the code for this website and be able to say how long it takes to view a page, add a reply or edit a post. Then make an assessment what the worst time is and best time is for each and try to improve efficiency. That's really what Computer Science is about, its not so much about programing but finding ways to write better efficient code and prove that it is faster with math. Thats really how you tell if a person is a programmer or a developer. A programmer just writes code, a developer can write good code. I bump into alot of Actuary Science majors and Stats majors and it can become inspiring what they can solve. I understand Calculus better since it connects to computation times better. Calculus is harder in terms of work, but is more straight forward. Algebra is less work, but more abstract. If you wanted to find out someones password that's Algebra, but if you wanted to prove that somethings over another that's calculus. ==================================== Gemini Sun, Capricorn Rising Aries Moon Gemini Mercury Venus Taurus Mars Cancer IP: Logged |

For all of you that wonder why you are bad at maths but have good aspects, is your Mercury Retrograde? With Mercury RX the learning process is more Right Brain than Left Brain, so will be less likely to absorb details. May feel less intelligent because standard school tests are too detail or fact oriented. But the simple fact is your learning style is just different. Mercury square Uranus does not equal bad at maths. I have that placement and I was brilliant at maths and logical thinking. My Mercury is in Capricorn Uranus conjunct ASC conjunct Minerva - I see patterns everywhere, maths is all about patterns IP: Logged |

It helps but also depends on location. Your from Europe or at least that what it says in your profile, the schooling system is different in N. America. In Canada, there's a plethora of teachers with arts and humanities backgrounds, but not so much in Math, Science or Engineering. So it gets harder to retain and pass down math skills if there aren't many people that specialize in it. You'll get the one or two people that are a math genius and way above the rest, but as an overall average, the population could improve. For example 7/10 of Canadians can't or do not like to do fractions, simply because we tried to change to metric to quickly and abandon standard. Its nothing compared to Russia, Poland, China or India were the average population is trained to a higher level of proficiency. ==================================== Gemini Sun, Capricorn Rising Aries Moon Gemini Mercury Venus Taurus Mars Cancer IP: Logged |
