but that's the essence of marriage right, partnership?
Personally marriage is not really wired in my programming, I'm more of a lover not a partner. We are all wired differently so it's okay!

I know HERA queen of Olympus and the goddess of love and MARRIAGE wants her Zeus, and she found him.
I think she has fulfilled a major desire in her life.

So I'm happy for her <333333333333333333333

Myself, I'm older than the average LL user, but some are older than I. I've been married, had other relationships. I've experienced a lot of ups and downs in life from loss of love, jobs, money, etc. Also plenty of high moments.

Some people are very bitter after a divorce and will openly tell others, "Don't do it!". I've been married once and even though it didn't work out and we've never spoken since. I would do it again and I will tell people that if that's what they want, go for it. By all means, just live and experience. If it doesn't work out, you still have your life. You'll lick your wounds and move forward. (we all hope)
I don't regret it at all. I took what I could from it, learned and hopefully I can apply the lessons from my personal mistakes to the next marriage, if it happens.

I guess it depends on outlook. If a person is prepared that something may NOT work out. It would be worse for me to just not explore that possibility of lifelong love. The feeling of passing it up for something that I see on a screen or a piece of paper... that would haunt me forever. It really would.

Anyway... that's just my Gem moon rambling on forever.
All is well. I'm glad everyone is on the same page and happy! <3

I think we all mean well here. We're a typically more evolved slice of the population, after all. We want better for each other. And we wouldn't be here if we didn't subscribe to Linda's teachings.

I must say I have tremendous respect for your willingness to endure severe heartbreak and continue on trying again. That takes great strength of will and spirit. I think I'm getting there myself. I'm very fortunate that things seem to've worked out for the moment, but I also realised, if they hadn't, I wouldn't crawl into that fabled hole; I'd try again.

For me, that's ... phenomenal. Lo and behold, I learnt something!

Thanks everyone for your wishes and concerns.

I think some of you misunderstood the purpose of this thread. We're not asking for your approval, your blessing or even your opinion. We wanted to share this with Lindaladers because this is where it all started, we have common friends here and we also wanted to send a message to all those warm hearts out there still waiting to find their half, that it can happen even after a long dark night of the soul, and it can be better than you ever imagined it could be. People who know me or BB know we didn't have it easy. But love is inspiring, it makes you want to become a better person, the best version of yourself and also to see the beauty and the good in the people and the world around you. Nobody ever said love is rational though. Plato even said it's a serious mental disease. Does our story raise eyebrows? Probably. We each have Uranus in the 10H, composite has it too. What do you know, so does the FMC.. Our engagement is a promise of hope and commitment to a future together. I never said we're rushing into marriage or having babies.

People are entitled to their own opinion. Nothing I can or would do about that. However, if I ever do consult an astrologer about our relationship, I will make sure he or she is an ethical one, that even if will have some warning signals to draw, will do so with tact, respect and consideration and is not practicing self righteous doom-gloom astrology. This relationship is sacred to us. If anyone wants to share opinions about the chart I posted or elective astrology, keep that in mind.

I gave a half-assed hurrah after MsPrism posted that hysterical .gif of Jonah, but on behalf of Aries women everywhere I think you're doing us proud by going after what you want! It beats YoursTruly's record of 22 days. Love is love, and you have just as much of a chance at succeeding as another couple does.

Hera - You know this forum gets sometimes.
Sometimes it starts as one thing and people end up bickering about completely different things.(not necessarily here).
That's normally around the time that I duck out if it gets too crazy.

Good luck to both you!

Our little vacation was awesome.

Breakfast on the beach in Malibu.

Dipping our toes in the Pacific after breakfast. The air was comfortable but the water was very cold.

The Fire girl dancing in a Scorpio tidal wave.

After we wandered on the beach for a while, Hera drove us north on Highway 1. There was an incredible view around every corner.

I think the notion of a long engagement when you're (I think, long distance, right?) makes a lot of sense. That always steps everything up - when you're serious about it.

Since you guys met online, are there any of the usual 'online markers' in your synastry? I'm always curious about that.

Congrats, again.

Congratulations. I remember you both flirting a few months ago, but didn't know that you were together.

I know a couple from another site, who married two years ago - they developed a long-distance relationship late 2009, were engaged on their second meeting (officially) in 2010, and married in 2011. Now they have a baby on the way - a little Taurus - and they're very happy.

Oh, and I did want to comment on your eyes; the 'piercing' nature must come from SATURN in SCORPIO high in the chart, as your ASC's dispositor.

Least I think so.

And you're a PHOLUS-SUN? Yeah. That makes sense!

Say, was there a chemistry when you first met? Is it too nosy to ask about your synastry? Sorry couldn't help myself, I'm a synastry addict.

Don't listen to the nay sayers. I'm one that believes you can know when someone is the right choice for you very quickly. It's how seriously we take the marriage itself that counts. You're engaged. That doesn't mean you're getting married tomorrow. And even if your were, Yours Truly Always did a quickie courtship, and he's been with his wife 20 years so far.

I've noticed some of the posters have been way too negative. They should be happy for you!

I wish you both all the best.

Terrific pics.

And like Lotis I like the cradle figuration of Jupiter-Moon-Mercury-Venus very much.

Especially taking into consideration that MErcury rules the 1st house and Jupitr the 7th house of the chart. Looks fine, having them trine.

also, the Venus-Jupiter-opposition is aligned with your composite Venus-Karma-conjunction quite closely, and if I am generous in orbs, also includes composite Sun.

Thank you hanna, DeepFreeze (again ), Indigo, T, DialecticLady, teasel, Gabby, Lotis and Ceri!

Since you guys asked about synastry and comp, I'm gonna list some major aspects, although if you ask me, even though they are alright, the duads hold the magic.

My Sun co-ruler of 7th house
-sextile his Moon (4deg) ruler of DC
-trine his Jup (2deg) ruler of 11H
-trine his Uranus (6deg) co-ruler of 1st house
-sextile NN (2deg)

His Sun co-ruler of 7th house
-sextile my Moon (2deg) ruler of DC double-whammy
-opp my Mars (2deg) ruler of 3H
-conj my Saturn (0deg) ruler of Asc
-sextile my Neptune (2deg) ruler of 2H
-conj my Pluto (3deg) ruler of MC
-trine NN (3 deg) double-whammy
-it's also opposite my Aphrodite and Union if we talk asteroids

My Moon ruler of DC
-sextile his Mercury (0deg) ruler of 5H and 8H
-conj his Neptune (2deg) ruler of 2H
-sextile his Pluto (0deg) ruler of MC
-trine his Juno 0deg
-trine his Valentine 0deg

His Moon ruler of DC
-sextile my Mercury 4deg ruler of 5H and 8H(wide I know but it's a double-whammy and from what I know orbs can extend a little in those cases)
-it makes a bunch of minor aspects and some wide oppositions to my Jup-Uranus and a sextile to Lust and conj to Valentine (last one is a double-whammy)

My Mercury ruler of 5H and 8H
-opposite his Mercury 5deg ruler of 5H and 8H
-trine his Neptune 5deg ruler of 2H
-opposite his Pluto 6 deg ruler of MC
-trine his Union 1deg
-square his Asc 3 deg

His Mercury ruler of 5H and 8H
-opposite my Mars 0deg ruler of 3H
-conj my Saturn 3 deg ruler of Asc
-sextile my Neptune 0deg ruler of 2H double whammy
-conjunct my Pluto 0deg ruler of MC double whammy
-trine my NN 0deg
-square my Asc 3 deg double whammy
-also makes a wide trine 3deg to my Amor and a wide opp to my Union (3deg)

my Venus ruler of IC and 9H
-trine his Venus 3 deg ruler of IC and 9H
-trine his Mars 2 deg ruler of 3H
-trine his Cupido 2 deg
-opp his MC 5 deg and a wide 7deg trine to his Asc

His Venus ruler of IC and 9H
-square my Jupiter 4 deg ruler of 11H
-square my Uranus 6 deg co-ruler of 1st house
-square my Valentine 0 deg
-wide trine to my Asc and wide sextile to my MC

My Mars ruler of 3H

-opposite his Pluto 1 deg ruler of MC
-conj his Juno 1 deg
-trine his Valentine 1 deg
-square his Asc 2 deg

His Mars ruler of 3H
-square my Jupiter 4 deg ruler of 11H
-square my Uranus 6 deg co-ruler of 1st house
-square my Valentine 0 deg double whammy
-wide trine to my Asc and wide sextile to my MC

my Jupiter ruler of 11H
-conjuncts his Jup 0deg ruler of 11H
-conj his Uranus 3 deg co-ruler of 1H
-squares his Karma 3 deg

His Jupiter ruler of 11H
-conj my Uranus 2 deg co-ruler of 1H dw but we're the same age so..
-squares my Juno 0 deg

My Saturn ruler of Asc
-conjuncts his Saturn 4 deg ruler of Asc
-conjuncts his Pluto 2 deg ruler of MC
-opp his Juno 2 deg
-trine his Amor 1 deg
-sextile his Eros 1 deg
-sextile his Valentine 2 deg too wide I think
-trine his Aphrodite 1 deg
-square his Asc 5 deg

His Saturn ruler of Asc
-trine my Juno double whammy
-sextile my Cupido 1 deg
-opposite my Aphrodite 1deg

My Uranus co-ruler of 1H

-sextile my Amor 1deg

my Pluto ruler of MC
-conj his Pluto ruler of MC
-opposite his Juno 1 deg
-sextile his Valentine 1deg
-square his Asc 2deg

his Pluto ruler of MC
-trine my NN 1 deg
-opp my Union 2deg
-square my Asc 5deg double whammy

We have a NN-Valentine double-whammy (sextile and conjunction both 1deg orb), my NN trine his Juno and his NN sextile my Lust.

My Chiron is conj his Lust, square his Union and trine his Asc (all <1deg), his Chiron is conj my Karma.

My Asc is conjunct his Asc 2 deg both in Capricorn, my Asc trines his Lust exact, his Asc trines my Chiron and widely sextiles my MC.

Our houses are in the same signs and most of our cusps are conjunct. Widest conjunction is between our MC's both in Scorpio 7deg.

The composite has Cap rising conj Sun and Mercury, sexttile Moon, opposite Venus wide, and Valentine, it squares Pluto and trines Chiron.

The Sun is co-ruler of 7H placed in last deg of 12H, is sextile Moon DC ruler, conj Mercury 5H and 8H ruler, opp Venus IC and 9H ruler, square Pluto MC ruler, trine Chiron, opp Valentine and Karma. It conjuncts Asc and widely sextiles MC.

The Moon is DC ruler placed in 2H, sextiles Mercury 5&8H ruler, widely trines Venus IC and 9H ruler, squares Neptune ouch 2H ruler and NN, trines Valentine, sextiles ASC and widely trines MC.

Mercury ruler of 5H and 8H is placed in 1H makes some wide aspects I will leave unmentioned, squares Pluto MC ruler, trines Chiron, opp Valentine, conjuncts Asc.

Venus IC and 9H ruler is in 6H, conjuncts Karma and trines MC. It is widely conj DC.

Mars 3H ruler is in 6H, trines Saturn ASC ruler, squares Juno and sextiles Lust.

Jupiter 11H ruler is in 11H conj Uranus co-ruler of 1H, opp Eros.

Saturn ASC ruler sits in 9H, conjuncts Pluto MC ruler, opp Lust.

Uranus co-ruler of 1H sits in the 10H, trines Juno.

Neptune ruler of 2H is in 11H sextile Pluto MC ruler, sextile Amor and opp Union.

Pluto is MC ruler sitting in 9H. It trines Amor and Union.

From memory, we have a double-whammy Sun-Venus conj and opp between duad/radix and an applying prog Sun (mine) trine his natal Venus and Mars. Will need to look more for specifics.

Also I was mistaken about the ASC/DC axis of the FMC being conj *both* our NN/SN axis, it is only conj mine. But the FMC makes plenty of aspects to my chart, his chart and the composite. I don't have the time or patience right now to list them all, the duads or the progressions. But there are links everywhere.

Thank you everyone again!
