I'm not married yet, but engaged to a foreigner. He is from a different continent, has a different ethnicity and language.

He has:
Venus in Sag
Ruler of 9th conjunct the ruler 7th
Jupiter conjunct ruler of 7th

I have:
Moon in Sag
Ruler of 9th bQ the ruler 7th

I was always attracted to foreigners for many different reasons. I find them very interesting, and I love that they are different from me, and there is always something new to learn.

My fiancee looks very proud, when he introduces me haha I think, he loves that I get so much attention and interest from others. We share the same curiosity about new things and experiences. And as I said earlier, traveling is a whole big bonus! We have 3 locations to visit: our homelands and a country, where we met

where's yours and his Juno?

I know that's a bonus but you can learn a new language, be open to a new culture if you really want to on your own. Doesn't take marrying a foreigner to make you do it.

Of course you can! It's not the same, though. It's like appreciating art, and appreciating art while being an artist

His Juno is Scorpio.
Pluto conjuncts the Ruler of 7th, ruler of 9th and Jupiter.

My Juno is Taurus. Venus is Retrograde and afflicted in my chart, it's in 12th House as well. Juno is square my 9th House Ruler.

I have observed Vedic Astrology for like 3 years and NOTHING seemed accurated to me. Even my chart in Vedic system sounded NOTHING like me.

I respect your opinion, and agree that Vedic astrology should be primarily used in India since it is so different, however, I have found a lot of Western astrologers who also claim that the twelfth house represents foreign countries; this being just one example:
http://horoscopicastrologyblog.com/2007/06/10/whole-sign-houses/ - I figured this might be a good example since the author is both American, and the former President of the Association for Young Astrologers.

Guess who is using the whole signs system. INDIAN ASTROLOGERS.
I never encountered a Western Astrologer who uses PLACIDUS and who claims 12th house ruler foreign affairs. Guess wasnt born yet.

Okay, well, I think since we are clearly going to disagree on this, maybe we should leave the topic there

When my mother learned astrology she used the whole house system. And she learned in the US. That was back in the dark ages when everything was done by hand with books, before computers were in everyone's home.

Don't know is she would consider 12th house for foreign countries. She hasn't done astrology in decades now so she probably wouldn't remember if I asked her.

I have such placements. Not very excited about it.

I don't have any of them and I did marry a foreigner. So, you can feel safe.

(Of course, it seems I'm the foreigner in my ex husband's chart, though we are both foreigners in this country).

Idk about marriage but even being from a mostly white, conservative part of the midwest, I always managed to date people of a different race or country of origin. I honestly just don't have a certain "type", and if it shocked people all the better lol. I'm the same way with friends too...

I have co ruler of 9th in 7th house conjunct Sun and NN, the other co-ruler (uranus) is widely conjunct my Dsc. Sag Juno conjunct mercury, Sag vertex and moon in 5th trine Jupiter and sextile Aqua venus.

I am only attracted to and date foreigners. The attraction is something I don't have control over.
Mars in Sagittarius 10th house, Libra sun in 9th house.

So would the ninth house ruler in seventh house be an indicator?

=) Just to expand a little further on what I was saying on the thread earlier...check this out:
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/223662-2.html

(scroll to mid-page)

I really think that it's definitely worth checking your 12th house ruler, placements and aspects. Whilst it isn't as well known as the 3rd or 9th for all things 'foreign', I see it coming up a lot (even if it is apparently used more in Vedic astrology); and in my own personal experience, having a planet there (as well as 12H synastry with the foreign partner)*does* indicate the potential for love in a foreign country. After all, Jupiter is/was the traditional ruler of the 12th.

@gemstone,

You are right, the 12th house and its ruler also deals with exile to distant lands, foreign settlements, long distance travels, foreign trade, imports and exports, long distance places of isolation etc since Jupiter is the traditional 12th house ruler.

Interesting topic!

For some reason, I have only dated Europeans (I'm American) Its never by choice..It just happens, LOL.Its kind of a joke between my friends.

I have my Sun & Merc in 9th house. Also, Venus opposite Sag.

I never knew the 12th related to foreign / distant lands and travel. I have Mars, Jupiter & NNode in 12th house...

Since I have none of the other indications of marrying a foreigner listed in this thread, this is the only thing I can see in my natal. I have 12th house planets but no 9th or 3rd. I was "self exiled" ( ) to a foreign land and married a foreigner.

Also venus in the 9th (me) and I married a foreigner. Also DCS in Sag. Also Juno in Sag or in the 9th or perhaps even Juno conjunct jupiter or juno conjunct a planet that falls in the 9th. Or the ruler of the 7th falling in your 9th house. I think this can express itself in a number of ways.

Aquarius can also SOMETIMES play a role in marrying a foreigner since it can make you attracted to what is different and unfamiliar.

Namaste.

Do you use Neptune or Jupiter as the ruler of Pisces
