They are very opalescent. Haha.

It is a lot like a pearl in some ways, and that's June's birthstone.

Wow, this is interesting since you also have Libra Asc. The Opal... well. I'm not sure what to think of it. I don't feel the same about it as the other two but it has this kind of... intriguing, mystical sense to it for me. As if you could get lost in it. At least some of them that I saw on Google.

Oh I saw Citrine. Even if it doesn't fit any of my "Big Three"... I love it!

I just love the way the Opal seems to have so many layers and it reminds me of some magical stone in a sci-fi thriller or something, doesn't it? The way it reflects the light the way it does.

Haha, lots of people like those sapphires. Once I was in the middle of the sea and it reminded me so much of our birthstone. It was so cool seeing that water and being completely surrounded by so much blue. I felt so happy but I would get kinda depressed, too and then want to jump in the water, lost forever.

Something about the ocean beckons. It's no surprised James Cameron chose the blue sapphire for his Titanic movie.

Hm. My son's birthstone is emerald, but his favorite color is absolutely yellow, without a question, and it's also the color that he looks best in.

The only connection I can make there is his 29.42 degree Libra Moon that's almost in Scorpio, and the yellowish color of topaz.

Interesting.

Yes, exactly! I like the ones that are a little more transparent. Like this one.. I LOVE this one!
I'll post the link because one of the things that I like most about it is that the colors change at different angles / backgrounds.

Interesting. Is he very old?
I ask because mine has kind of changed from when I was young. I swore by blue when I was younger. I also was an EXTREMELY different person when I was younger.
I don't know if there's any correlation, but it's all interesting nonetheless.

Those pics remind me so much of this plastic stuff that came in a tube and could turn into bubbles by putting it on the end of this small red straw that came with it. The plastic stuff became this balloon with swirling colors.

I remember that I just loved the smell of that stuff.

You're right though, now that you mention it. I can totally see it.

No, he's only two and a half.

BUT...my favorite colors have always been lavender and red, so far as I can recall. But yes, I suppose it could change. It's still interesting that he's on the cusp of a Scorpio Moon, and topaz is rather yellow...

Eh...could be just his favorite color, heh.

I do love black opals to look at. I've never worn one, though. I have some fire opals that were my grandma's also (I suppose I must be thinking about her a lot right now, as she passed on Christmas morning a few years ago), but they're odd pieces of jewelry (I believe just one earring, if I'm not mistaken).
I'm not sure where she got them from.

I think I'll go off for a minute and spend some time with her.
G'night for now, everyone.

I didn't chew on it. LOL I don't imagine that it tasted very well. Don't feel bad though. I've chewed on and even ate things that don't belong in a human body. He-he!

Different sites give different info so first tell me what I should consider my birthstone and I'll tell you how I feel about it.

Go by the month you were born. If it was January, then it would garnet, and red (dark red).

Hm. It only just now occurred to me that garnet is a Saturn-type stone, which I wear on my Saturn finger. And my turquoise on my Jupiter finger, which is a Sag stone. That was completely accidental, I just liked the rings and those were the fingers they fit on. Nifty!

Thanks. Wow, I've never heard of it before. It looks beautiful, almost like ruby, but even better. Love this shade of red...

Mine is peridot. I don't really like it, I like darker richer greens, it's too pale and washed-out for me.

I'm pretty sure I've seen other birthstones associated with the signs also, I think Leo may have Sardonyx too? I can't remember. anyways, to me some of the other ones make more sense than peridot does for Leo.

I love garnet too! I have some raw garnet stones, and a ring. It's supposed to be very calming and grounding.

I also love blue lace agate, although I don't really wear a lot of light blue, and I don't think that it's associated with any sign or planet in particular.

Mine is Peridot, but I've always felt way more connected with the Sapphire. I was actually supposed to be born on labor day, but ended up coming about a week early, so I have adopted the Sapphire as my true birthstone anyway.

Truth is, I really don't like green in general, and light green is even worse... I have always looked good in blue and my eyes are a beautiful shade of blue, so it works for me...
