Has anyone experienced this? I would imagine the mars person is the initiator, but im specifically interested in mars in Aquarius' approach.
Does this indicate a mutual attraction?

I had an ex whose Mars falls in my 1st house and conjuncts my ascendant (also sextile my Mercury), and I always felt energised by his presence. I also felt like I could express myself in a more lively way than usual and really be appreciated.

I think the general interpretation of this aspect would be that the Mars person feels compelled to get close to/initiate things with the ascendant / 1st house person, and the asc/1st house person will be energised and more assertive in the presence of the Mars person. Of course, things will depend on the overall personalities of the people involved and what other aspects there are.
