I would say that the main things that I see my Mars in my physical appearance would be my legs and my skin.

In my opinion more than anything else it is the Asc and aspects to it + elements of 1st house.

So 1) Asc sign
2) Asc ruler aspects
3) Planets in 1st house

Venus - the way I express myself being a woman, mannerisms, style, aesthetic values. Unless your Venus is your chart ruler I doubt it can describe your physical appearance. My Venus, for example is my chart ruler because I am Libra Asc. Venus squares my Saturn and that is probably why I have always been so thin. I thought it was also to do with Pluto in my 1st house. Add these factors to Libra Asc (generally slim/average build) and you get a lightweight like me.

Regarding Mars, mine is in Pisces. It's in my 5th house. No aspects to ruler of the 1st so nothing to do with appearance in my case.

Why "tendency to gain weight"? "tendency to gain weight" is something more usual in Libra and Taurus first, they are lazy because of Venus. Sagittarius because it has to do with expansion and comfort in somehow because Sagittarius has "good luck". Cancer, the moon. And maybe Pisces too because is ruled by Neptune (Neptune doesn't like sports, but love arts), Jupiter (same with Sagittarius) and also is exalted in Venus.

What does fit... I look like a teenager. I walk fast and talk with my hands. I have bony shoulders that seem to stand out no matter what I wear. Better-than-average upper body strength for a female. Muscular shoulders/arms regardless of my activity level. I'm prone to carrying tension in my shoulders/upper back too.

My Mars is conjunct my Moon tightly. I always thought I looked like a Cancer ASC in many ways. My mom is a Cancer ASC and we share many physical traits. Your description of Mars in Cancer actually fits me too. Would the tight Moon conjunction alter my appearance as well?

Aside from that, I have the typical physical traits of a Virgo Sun/Pisces rising, except that I'm not slim. Petite, but curvy.

My voice is lower, softer {kindness}, and has a mellow-register. Upbeat uplifting encouraging, excited. Caring.

I'm 5'4" without heels. Good figure (at least, I think, to ME-- and maybe someone else some day). Mostly-brunette (a lot of *natural* highlights ~~ LOL white hair mixed in it now. Used to have some reds in it.)

Sag Rising has Jupiter as ruling the natal chart-- I have a Jupiter CANCER, where Mars zodiac is. Yes, my hip area has always been more generous while my waist and wrists have always been smaller (than most women, even).

I have Virgo hands (both vedic and regular of my Moon)... more squaring but still pretty. Both my parents had beautiful artistic hands, but I didn't get theirs. (I got my Virgo mgf's hands!!) Organizing and efficient hands, always ready to pitch-in and be hands-on. And yes, I'm a gemmy and talk with them!! LOL

About seven years ago here, I had come across a very small group of astrology people. They 'guessed' me as being an Aquarius-Rising.... And I laughed because I had become a Progressed-asc Aquarius by then. (I'm up to 13+ degrees now).

I have a Progressed~load of planets in LEO. Mars has been there, is 11+ now, and I'm reporting that I have not shape-shifted to that.

I liked watching figure-skating a lot, during the 'last century' (LMAO). I remember when the skaters were basically sticks or had block-squarish figures, but when Nancy Kerrigan would get up on the ice, she had more curves and 'elegance' to the general impression of her looks than the others did.

[I don't have her head-look, and my shoulders are way more petite, but the body impression of her curved elegance, a kind of statuesque-ness, with the generous hip area fits more of my own. ...prepared for my P'Leo Mars LOL]

I'm a bit older, and I sure look better in softer incandescent lighting now, but ~still generally can say about myself that I'm lookin' good *thumbsup* LOL.)
