I think Aries women are some of the most beautiful in the world. So why is it that the Aries Ascendant descriptions are always less than nice? I keep reading that the physical attributes of Aries Asc is that they have red faces, stocky builds, large noses, large heads (or foreheads). Why is that? IP: Logged |

Especially since Shakira and heather locklear have Aries rising!
I think there are attractive and unattractive under each rising. I think the aspects to the rising have a lot to do with it. IP: Logged |

Ooh this is me. Hmm. No large foreheads or noses or anything. I have well proportioned everything on my face. I quite like it. But my face gets mildly red randomly and often. It's like... A somewhat blended mild red. I would evict it if I could. "Red, please leave face within 24 hours. Your days of squatting are hereby declared illegal. ~Aries rising." If you look at Shakira sometimes her skin gets red too. It's mild. Looks like a tan but isnt. The skin on my body gets red too but that's a weather thing. Could it be that we have thin skins and blood shows far more easily? My skin is thin. Luckily men don't notice anything! IP: Logged |

DUDE ARIES WOMEN ARE GORGEOUS.. what even..Like every celeb Im attracted to is an Aries. They're so beautiful. They have like perfect features and hair.. Same with mars on asc but beyonce has mars on the asc and she's ******* beautiful IP: Logged |

Sounds closer to Taurus to me. I haven't heard that description for Aries ASC...and looking one up I found this which isn't like that:
http://www.astrotheme.com/files/ascendant_appearance_and_health.php I usually don't pay much attention to physical descriptions because so many other things are involved, from ancestry to the diet & physical activity one had growing up which is irrelevant to astrology. A lot of it is relative, too, for example stick me in with a bunch of Victoria Secret models and I'd be considered to have a big nose, but if I were to go to a Greek Orthodox church then people who saw me there would think I had a small nose. In any case I see so many exceptions to the rule that I just don't pay attention to it anymore. IP: Logged |

Who wants gaudy and eccentric as descriptions of their rising sign? I think it depends on what is aspecting ascendant and good old genetics. But traditionally, Mars and Pluto is not beauty planets, these are harsh and malefic planets that can make one have large features, brutish, and make women look mannish. Is this true, who knows, but Venus and Moon softens the appearance, even men with too much Mars can look too brutish, I personally think you need 50/50.Example Shakira, she is Aries rising, but she has moon in cancer (very feminine moon) aspecting ascendant and Neptune aspecting ascendant both these planets soften and can make people more beautiful. Also her Venus is in 12th giving it a Pisces influence. IP: Logged |

I think the descriptions that are given by these sites for Asc in Aries are those that try as much as possible to align to the Mars ,masculine figure archetype. Even in women.But, if you notice, most of the roles that Heather has chosen to play are the feisty, strong female types; Melrose Place,Spin city, Dynasty and even her movie roles. I think this is how her Asc shows itself up. Saturn squaring the planet in the 1st house(Moon) and the ruler of her Asc(Mars)definitely contributes to the "ageless" look. Saturn also sits on the MC. Saturn tends to make people very photogenic and gives them physical beauty that is more aesthetically tasteful than feminine. IP: Logged |

Heather Locklear has Venus aspecting the ascendant and Moon in 1st, plus both Shakira and her has Moon/Venus aspects which are beauty aspects for women either by aspect or by midpoints.Lucy Lawless, another Moon in 1st conjunct the ascendant, Venus in Pisces in 12th.
