I had a dream not too long ago. I'd had sex that night and for some reason I had the feeling that I might get pregnant from it.

That night I had a dream that two women, blonde and tall came to me and took a little infant child away. Yeah, what the **** ?

Not sure, I'm wondering that myself.

I see this thread has become more about celebrity crushes...from my perspective that was surprising but then when I recalled how important looks are to other people I realized it shouldn't have been.

After this "became the celebrity crush" thread I almost shared about a celebrity crush as a little girl. Because he was almost completely unknown back then I was able to get a poster of him for a dollar, IIRC, and I'd listen to him singing while sitting up in bed with my back against the poster, sorta imagining him holding me, or alternately staring at him while laying down. It's hard to define what kind of crush it was. Not sexual, though vaguely romantic, more like a big brother or father figure, but it defies definition. It's why I gave up in sharing about it. Besides, I process the world so differently from the norm I doubt others could understand.

I think the music helped me not feel so alone, and it was both exotic and soothing. Interesting enough, as I got older his music kept changing so that it grew with me, and while I no longer have an actual "crush" on him I do keep up with his music, even in this day when music is a lot less important to me.

It's possible he shaped my view on masculine beauty, tall and thin with wild hair as well as darkly poetic but sweet in demeanor.

OTOH, I like glasses and he never wore any. When I was 17 I did have a brief but intense crush with lust for the 2 actors who played Mulder & Scully (possibly because they both wore glasses at times, though the guy actor has the same basic body form as the singer I crushed on as a child) but it was still something deeper than that, and also curiosity. Plus, I didn't follow them or care that much about their personal lives.

I've not been one to follow celebrities much. I'd pay attention when it came up but I don't seek out info unless there's another reason involved, and with the exception of that one singer as a child I never got posters, nor tried to imitate what they wear.

But many celebrities are very fine looking and many people judge others by looks. And not just pure looks but also what it says (or the viewer THINKS it says) about their character which works with others not celebrities, too. Then they're someone to talk about when talking about the weather gets boring, typically a "safe" subject to bring up (save among kids who can sometimes form into bitter factions over celebrities, and maybe that's part of it, so many kids don't have inspiring role models so they turn to celebrities and that fascination stays with them in adulthood).

Speaking of role models the thing that teases my mind is WHY should entertainers be "good role models"? Being a good role model is almost never entertaining!

But then a society needs its devils as much as its angels to define their world.

^The celebs I posted I thought "looked" utterly perfect.
But I really like them as well, but that doesn't mean I find them perfect. That's stretching it.

But I am not defining them as perfect because of looks.

There is no celebrity that is perfect in my eyes. All they do is either sing or act (and etc), not that big of a deal.

We can sound self righteous and call it body worship but it's just an appreciation for the human body,
We are human too so in essence we are appreciating ourselves.

As someone who spends time drawing and painting humans I have acquired a deep appreciation for the human body and i have acquired tastes over the years.
Certain features are striking to me, it's a beautiful thing that we are all able to have different and unique tastes.

There is nothing wrong with expression your tastes.

Some people share music, art, and literature,

If this thread makes you feel uncomfortable you can

Yes, there will always be a scale and we'll always place people somewhere on it, shifting them as new entries are accepted and ordered. Here's a picture for you all, this is what I'm attracted to. Haha

I can't understand the worship of looks only. It sounds really cliche but I'm so attracted to a very specific set of characteristics and I've experienced it many times. I've seen it done in one anime before as well.

Naru from Ghost Hunt. Although Lin really fits the role too, just not the polite bit as much.

It's a sort of shy but confident, spooky, demanding, quiet, polite and reserved person.

When I look at a body I don't attach any emotional connection to it and so the image doesn't last for me.

I once had a crush on Josh Hartnett but I think that was me trying to fit in because of my issues with being friends with women and Pearl Harbor had just come out. It does make it easy to converse with co-workers, schoolmates and family when you don't have much in common.

Right... but this thread is about what aesthetics looks good to you not what you find romantically attractive.

I didn't even list my celeb crush because I don't they matched up to what I find perfect..
Because my feels extend to more than their looks, they way they make me feel and our synastry most likely.

So you're telling me you don't purchase clothes based on there appearance
but only the quality and price?

I find some people are cursed to only finding human beauty in sexual attraction...

it's weird to think if I compliment someone on their looks they would assume that I'm interested in them romantically :S

Me?

I'm just saying that image doesn't last with me. Seriously, I forget what I look like and am surprised at the face staring back at me when I see myself in the mirror. Image doesn't last with me for very long so it's hard for me to love certain features and body types over others.

Fun continue!

Don't go all Hank on me!

Really but I remember talking about fashion with you?
I guess that's interesting that you forget about what you're wearing,

I just extend appreciation of beauty with everything in the universe.
which can be found in even in bright yellow dandelion..

It's great to appreciate beauty and I think to spread it through artistic expression is really necessary.

I just don't hold onto images very well unless they have evoked an emotional response in me. My style of clothing is something I see and go "Yeah, that!" but then I forget it and go about my day. Although, I don't mean just people but also places and experiences I've had. If it doesn't connect emotionally then I forget it. But if I have a heated argument with someone I'll remember exactly how their facial expressions flowed, their outfit, their hair, etc. Maybe this doesn't apply to my own face because I'm emoting without needing to know what I look like to understand and catalogue my expressions for future reference like I do with others? Weird huh?

Thanks Kero, you've helped me discover a puzzle piece!

I guess that is very Taurean if you think about it.

I was wondering what you meant about images but I think tangible and material things are what is more beautiful to you.
Like the smell of someones perfume or the way their hair moves in the wind.

Idealistic illusions such as celebs may be uninteresting to you.

You're right.

I can see the beauty when I'm looking at it but it just doesn't DO anything to me so it doesn't matter. I guess that does sound pretty Taurean. It could also be that my Venus is in 3rd House (immediate world) and celebrities just aren't a part of it so I don't care. Plus, Venus is inconjunct my Moon, I love people/places/things that make me learn/feel something.

It's funny, the only reason I said anything in this thread was because of Henry Cavill coming up and the talk about his body not being good anymore and it once being good, etc. It got a rise out of me because of this scene.
http://youtu.be/8nOa08Qy2zg?t=2m22s

It made me feel very sad and I thought he performed it so well that I really could be in that moment and share in the turmoil. Then I saw that he was in an interview and the host was making a big deal out of his childhood experience of being bullied for being fat but he simply said something like "Kids are flexing their social muscles at that age and anyway they were right, I was fat." There's no drama in his explanation, just simple facts. I love that kind of simplicity.

________

Yeah, you and Cap can chat for almost 4 pages so far about it!

Have you watched Under Blackpool Lights. One of my favorite music DVDs.

This song reminds me of my grandmother so Jack White's got a special place in my heart.

My sentiments too. I'm sorry about your grandmother but don't worry...we are all going to the same place and she is with the angels now watching over you.

When my grandmother passed away I remember I had a dream and she told me she was leaving. I got up in the middle of the night and drew a hundred pictures for my mom to give to her but it was too late. She passed away from cancer the next day.

The sad thing is I was supposed to visit her after baskteball practice but I was exhausted and thought she would be around for at least another year.

The song reminds me of so much like that too...I dare not write it.
