but it's the first 1,2,3,4, houses that makes a person entirely independent and reckless...not the 8th house...the 8th house is the house of psychoanalysis and people rarely make decisions without analyzing them foryears.

They are very, very responsible, with exceptions.

It's the second house people who take daddy's car and crash it, it's the 8th house people who inherit dad's money, a meager sum, and turn it into a billion dollar empire.

I'm speaking from several clients who have jupiter and planets in the 8th...they all did this.

For some reason clients with venus or taurus in the 9/3 or 2nd house have inherited a lot of money but seem to just use it on drugs and fun.

Seems extremely overgeneralised, and, quite possibly, wrong.

I thought i got this 2nd/8th house! Now im confused.
Lets see if i understand this.
If i invest others money in the stocks -that is eight house. An investment banker could have a strong eighth house.
I have a good bank balance- the landlord of a posh apartment would have planets in 2nd house?
After higher studies/ made my career choices and now im earning some peanuts-would be 11th house?N the software geek who slogs everyday to make money would have personal planets in 11th?
And a homemaker would have a heavy 4th house??
Argh! I shouldnt have opened this thread : (

There is meaning for 2nd/8th houses beyond money. The 2nd house is also about understanding yourself and your existance in the material plane, and the values you learn/earn here, what it means to live in the material plane and sense reality through our fice senses. Therefore material acquisitions and wealth is part of this house. But wealth is not what ultimately holds meaning. It is the learning of valuing being alive, the gift of life on the material plane, understanding that we are part of nature, to develop such values that we can reach real sense of confidence and security of ourselves.

8th house on the other hand is associated with other people's money and resources, as while in the 7th house we begin to acknowledge another person (the first 6th houses are about us while the others are about the others in this world) and form partnership in equal manner, in the 8th house we dig deeper of what it means to have relationships, which includes what it means to share resources.
The 8th house here digs deeper. When our relationship with someone gets more intimate, deeper, and we begin to join our resources as well as our inner complexity, we give each other power towards us while we become vulnerable to each other. Unconscious issues, darker issues, inner issues starts to be relevant in the relationship, we see each other's darker side, and what it really means to bond in deeper levels. Sex comes into play, but it's about both physical and emotional and psychological intimacy.
Also, the 8th house is about the darker corners of ourselves too. What it means to have power, give control or control as others gives it, empathizing and understanding the dark side in us, and death. What it means to accept and let go of control.
Here, we go through the dark side not to dwell in it but to rise above it. And when we can rise from ashes, when Scorpio rises as Phoenix, it can transit to Sagittarius, the last fire of the Zodiac and the light after darkness.
