I've noticed astrological placements do not indicate intelligence. I've known pisces mercuries who are very smart. I think mercury is just one type of thinking. Mars and moon are other types of thinking.

Well said!

I have Pisces Mercury and it actually offends me to think some fool would say that I am "debilitated". Could not be further from the truth.

Wasn't Einstein a Pisces w/ Pisces Mercury??

I rest my case. Lol.

^ Mercury is in fall and in detriment in Pisces, but mercury is not indicative of intelligence, the whole chart is, all the planets and a good portion is owed to the placement of the moon.

Academical intelligence is associated with mercury though. There is a huge difference between a love of learning new things everyday and good at studying. I think it was reported that Einstein didn't fare well at studying, he almost failed all his classes consequently dropped out of school at very early stage in his life, doesn't mean he wasn't a genius and had a few quirks too it seems as far as what I read about him...

I'd rather be a brilliant genius at LIFE than anything else. Too many people are book-smart, yet completely dumb in every other area of life. Common sense seems to be going extinct...

I see. And that explains why you love to communicate with mercury in scorpio.

I have no idea what just happened in this thread. *lol*

I have Mercury in Leo (H1) and I am quite comfortable with it. It doesn't feel good or bad... just another part of me.

The description from astro.com fits me perfectly:

quote:
"You are very sure that your ideas are right, and you like to make others think the way you do. You can think about new ideas and make them part of your own thinking, as long as no one is pressuring you to do so.

You are quite stubborn, and your pride is involved in everything you think or believe. If someone challenges your beliefs, you feel they are challenging you. But at the same time, your pride in your opinions makes you want to get at the truth.

Whenever you have to solve a problem, you put a great deal of energy into it, and the more important the problem, the more energy you invest. However, you may ignore problems that don't seem important enough, when actually they are quite important."
