My brother has Sun conjunct Venus (combust) and so far, he doesn't seem to have any of those "blessings" you mentioned. Some are lucky enough, though, to have a wider orb for the conjunction.
I agree!! I have always wondered about it because I noticed that even in transits that the conjunction is felt better with a wider orb!!

I have a Sun conjunct Venus 2 degrees in Aries in XII. But i also have Sun conjunct Mars 3 degrees in Aries in XII: And Venus conjunct ASC 6 degrees in Taurus.as for my experience- i found that we can be charming when we want to, there is a certain self confidence present, and we can talk to anyone( at my work, my coworkers always tell me ohh you can talk to anyone, even to people you don't like lol) in my case, since i have Sun Mars conjunction too, i am no- nonsense also, and very direct..so its a blend of these too.. and as for the Venus/ASC conjunct, i think it gives us a natural sense of style, comfort, laziness, luxury and everything pretty. Question: When does Venus conjunct Sun become combust- at what degree?

Yes, we were born in 1979. I was on August 29, the others were on Sept.2, 6 and 10. Another reason I am unlucky because my chart ruler-Mercury is on 12th(Jupiter, the lucky planet stays in that house too, so its lucky energy cannot come out easily like others). GF 2 who was born on September 6 has a Picese ASC, I have Virgo ASC. The other two's TOB is unknown.....I wish I had a Gemini or Sagitaurius personal planet which might make the situation better.

LOL!!!! That's pretty much how it is for me. My Sun is Conjunct my Venus, Moon and Mars in Pisces. Somehow I just seem to bring out the goodwill of others around me instead of "ill-will". I always make sure I give the love back just to keep it all going around because I love spreading positive vibes when I can.IP: Logged |

I have my Sun conjunct Venus in Scorpio. My Venus, Sun and Mercury are in the 5th House. I don't know what this means but this is interesting!IP: Logged |

That's the positive side. There's a dark side that comes with it, including irrational jealousy that can get vicious (and violent), people who feel threatened by the things you say (especially if it makes them feel rejected by you), and also people who are nice to you in order to use you and/or your friends. I've had some close calls and traumatic experiences in my life due to that. Though some interesting dynamics. Like in a small East Texas school I was actually more popular among high schoolers (when I was 13-4 and in 8th grade/middle school, though it was connected to all the other grades and middle school & high school had lunch together) than I was in my own grade. And I was at my most popular with school kids when I was unschooling (a type of homeschooling), which I suspect was partially due to the fact that I was outside the school cliques and social dynamics so didn't make anyone feel threatened (IOW, I was exotic rather than offensive or competition). It could be that my sun/venus also being conjunct with my saturn/pluto have made it sweet & sour to me, however. Sometimes I look back and am amazed at how easily I could attract friends and enemies alike, sometimes I think they decided that they wanted to know me or destroy me the moment they looked at me. Come to think of it that includes groups as well which may be that my conjunctions there are in the 3H. IP: Logged |

^^^^ I would blame the Sun/Venus on Pluto for that. The effect is that people either love you or hate you. There is very little middle-ground. In as far as Sun/Venus conjunct Saturn is concerned,I don't believe this aspect has much power to make someone popular. Unless its amongst senior people. I have Venus/Saturn conjunct natally and I was always the teachers pet. IP: Logged |

Great topic!I have Sun conjunct Venus within 1 degree so it's combust. Already in Virgo, Venus is in fall so this should not be great. However, I am very blessed and have felt this lovely aspect my whole life. It's in the first house and conjuncts Uranus so it has been very interesting at times. It's not all roses, though. This aspect taken to an extreme means a people-pleaser who will ignore their own needs to keep peace. Relationships can implode because you must call people on their **** at the time or resentment builds and destroys. IP: Logged |

My elders and such were about the same as younger. Teachers didn't like it when I discussed the lessons, not even to ask sincere questions (as sometimes they couldn't, or didn't dare, answer). So they made an unofficial deal with me (I'm told the teachers probably consulted with each other about me privately and came up with this plan): I could read books or write stories despite that no one else was allowed as long as I kept quiet (some other kids pointed this out in resentment). The rare times either of us forgot this trouble often came about. The exceptions were few and far between (and classes like math was a safe subject, and one math teacher even made me a class tutor), but the high school faculty I dealt with was a nightmare. That said, I found teachers outside the school who thought I should have been in a school for the gifted and mentored me, one (a substitute actually, just one of her jobs on the side) even let me live with her when I was a runaway claiming I was her grandniece (well we'd casually refer to each other as Aunt and niece as that's how my own family works). Yet generally speaking it was still the same as with kids...a few adults really took an instant shine to me while a few others felt an instinctive need to destroy me (just like with the kids), and I also suspect the reason little girls in my neighborhood shunned me starting when I was about 6-7 was because their mothers told them to (though I think that had more to do with how they felt about my parents than with me). And even some adults that I thought were mentoring me were just using me (and others through me). IP: Logged |

That's the downside.Venus conjunct Sun can also be a people pleaser. Because they have defined themselves(Sun) with how people respond to them(Venus)
