This is probably my 11,000th post on this.2nd house..I don't get it! So basically my emotional needs are met when I have good food, nice warm fragrant baths, and all the bills paid for? Doesn't this apply to everyone? Can anyone explain the 2nd house in a spiritual sense? IP: Logged |

My fiancé has a Taurus Moon in 2nd house. He NEEDS (!): food-can't emphasize this enough (great cook too)-money, emotional stability and tranquility (push his buttons one too many times and you'll regret it). He is self indulgent and likes to stay indoors. He also needs long showers with his cleaning scrubs/shampoos/body wash etc. He also loves art, especially things made of clay.

I feel like it's such a superficial placement to have! I want to look at it from a more spiritual angle but I can't seem to find one!IP: Logged |

Don't know about spiritual meaning, I'm still trying to figure this placement out myself. But most boards and interpretations say it makes someone need security - have the means (money, a roof over your head, food, a strong support system) to get by and survive every day. It would probably make the Moon - your emotions - a little more stable because of the fixed nature of the house (and link to natural ruler Taurus). Or else there's at least a need for stability and security in your life. The second house also rules your values and sense of self-worth. With the Moon here, this would be something you need - you could be very attached to the things you value, something that's given you that security and keeping things easy for you. (Taurus usually doesn't take risks unless they're sure it'll pay off, and they like peace.) But as the Moon fluctuates and goes through cycles, so could your self image. Or said values, self esteem, even income. Someone who is also very aware of what money does to people. You may earn money through women (in particular, your mother) or may want a job that involves helping with/working with women, or people who need care, or even in food. Not having the security you crave will affect you a lot, and maybe your moods also depend on whether you have everything you need, and/or your self esteem (or the lack thereof). Oh and the 2nd house is very physical. Someone with the moon here, I imagine would really like cuddling and just touching others/be touched, which feels secure and being cared for. IP: Logged |

Moon in 2nd, sagSometimes I feel material things, needs, practicalities get in the way of a spiritual quest. But sometimes I can find spiritual through having things in order as also what about all the material things people spend time designing and making if no one buys them and appreciates them IP: Logged |

2nd house can be also about things we value, not necessarily material. Saggitarius is an philosophical/adventurous/humanitarian type of sign. So maybe that could be why you feel the above. I'm sorry with the sign, house and planet interpreting all three together is quite new to me IP: Logged |

You are probably better than me anyway as I'm not so good at joining the meanings. I can't really get this house for moon but I do think there's more to Taurus than just material anyway so hopefully something spiritual potentially there. I do hate to worry about money though, it affects me. IP: Logged |

I have my Moon there too, in Libra. I need contact with art and would love to have a job related to it (this is not the only indicator though). If I bought a house/apartment I'd be excited to decorate it. I'd like my place to a piece of art, my art, and I already have a vision. Dealing with things I find beautiful makes me feel good and can move me. I want to start a gemstone collection asap but they would have a practical function too. What else...I definitely wouldn't mind winning the lottery, like pretty much everyone else. The thing is I actually intend to experiment with certain methods. It would be entertaining at the very least. I like to think I could be good at making money. Generally, I don't think becoming rich would automatically make me happy but I'd definitely appreciate financial safety and freedom. And even then I'd probably carefully monitor my account(s) and invest in something. Believe it or not, I don't have overspending tendencies and I'm quite good at saving. I'm rather fixed when it comes to emotions and values. People who are very changeable are not the optimal company for me. I think this house placement dampens the social quality of my Moon sign.------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

I'm a lot like this. And a specific vision I have too is of having a mineral collection. I was once thinking that objects are like a thought realised, the home an extension of the mind. Maybe that relates. Tangible thoughts? IP: Logged |

Makes sense. How I'd explain it is I'm a visionary and I like my visions to be realized When it comes to minerals, the degree position of my Vedic Moon happens to be associated with them so I suppose I had to choice but to be lured in

Lol.. Everything in its place Do you reference your vedic moon with sabian? My placidus nn is 5-6 degrees Sabian being, A Man Watches His Ideals Taking A Concrete Form Before His Inner Vision ? If so that's pretty neat considering the similar views on this subject. IP: Logged |

@flourence- can you describe what you need emotionally from someone? Are you physical? What comforts you? The guy I'm crazy about has a Sag moon in the 2nd and I'd love to get an idea what he likes/needs emotionally.

I have my Libra Moon in H2.I think aside from the physical needs of accumulating material things (art, savings, investments, furniture, collectables, etc)--I think the Spiritual/Emotional side of Moon in H2 is also gathering things of "spiritual value" For instance, you respect friends and family that are stable and will be there for you (so as someone mentioned, not easily changeable)...having your bank account full of money makes you happy because it gives you security, having strong moral/self values/confidence is important. Also, as far as things, you probably like things in your place that are sturdy, have heft--and do not break easily. I have a lot of Libra in my chart, and so I appreciate art--but if I think for one minute it could break--I won't buy it, I'll just appreciate it for it's beauty value. I'd say security is the biggest thing a H2 Moon looks for..

Don't know what about others but security is important to me indeed. Especially emotional security. For example, I'd get involved with a man only if I believed it has potential to be long term. I'm least concerned about physical security.------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

Hi tgem, I had to really think and still not sure. Emotionally i need truth. I don't generally mind lies to an extent as to me that overlaps with privacy. But it's reassuring to me that if someone feels cold or detached all of a sudden or clingy and loving, that they show it either way. Whilst I respond to moods a lot, freak out at first either way, just knowing at least someone wouldn't live a lie and compromise their values is reassuring to me. I might get scared I should respond in a certain way initially but if it's just out in the open, I can circle other peoples feelings in my own time - when no one is looking to see how I react. So it's someone having stability and strength to be themselves - it helps me do the same. Tbh that could be other aspects. But writing it I'm realising what I'd like others to be like is what I'd like to be like myself - free to unpack emotions without understanding the meaning, making conclusions from them. And I'm so guilty of doing that with others though but I think deep Down I want to be free from Pluto strain, to be childlike. That's why lies don't matter too much to me - it's why those lies occur I'd like to be removed. I can be jealous and if in love completely committed (but with lots of sometimes misleading currents) but I hope that it's because I want to have a true life and not just some Pluto energy at work. I find comfort in thinking the wider picture is present somehow, that there's some greater meaning behind things. A lot of the time that yearning ends up been passed through the outer planets and getting mixed up with power and Neptune or sated through pursuit of knowledge but they are more artificial states. Examples of this that are more pure: feeling am meant to be with someone, that the one I love is concerned with wider picture and that joy is squeezed out of life. I'm actually easily and often sad but anything that feels childlike brings me up. Laughter. I'm physical but it has to be special by which I mean anything other than is contrived or expected. Although contrived and expected can be special too. So pretty much any circumstances but finding the ordinary in say the dream, film type of scenario and extraordinary in ordinary. And sometimes no space is better than a bit of space. I feel weird to have balance, again the expected, prescribed dynamic of two people together. Don't know if all this is my moon. It really can be quite a messed up moon and I thought I was a Scorpio moon until I found I can't be. The main thing I think is to have strength and confidence in who you are - it helps me a lot when others are this way. It was interesting to try find my values in all this. Thanks for the free therapy. Sorry goatcat. I might put this on a new thread or delete after IP: Logged |

2nd house is values and things we cannot do without. These are the things we deem very necessary to living. If we have to cope with bare necesseties, we look to this house to find what those bare necessities are. Strictly speaking, the Moon in 2nd needs to feel that they belong and that they are loved; food, shelter, clothes, family etc. Cancer rules the Moon and so this is especially so when the Moon is in water signs Cancer,Pisces. That is why every description you read is based on this. But we all know that sign placement plays a huge role. Cancer Moon does not respond to the environment in the same manner as Sag Moon.So why should their emotional needs be the same? Let alone what they most value? So when the Moon is in air, these needs are not sentimental.More like needing someone to talk with/relate with."Connect" intellectually. These people tend to value socializing and for them, this is the security they need. They love being in the "mix" of social exchange. They love their friends very much. When Moon is in Earth,a stable job, income and the attached perks go a long way in making these people feel secure(esp Cap and Taurus) These people may stay with the same company for years on end. Because most have their eye on the substantial retirement package $$$ When Moon is in Fire, physical outlet(especially for Sag,Aries) is very important and treasured. So sex is key. These people may also value things such as competitive sports, going to watch sport games, being in the company of active people.Likely to be very adventurous too. They tend to take financial risks and love earning money doing something that involves a certain level of challenge or risk. If the Moon conjuncts a planet, that planet adds its flavour to what the Moon values. So say the Moon is in Sag but conjuncts Venus. This means the person may value active sports(Sag moon). But they also like to partake in it with a partner(Venus) Or sex is something they value. But it is likely going to feel that much sweeter when they are in a relationship(Venus)etc. IP: Logged |

i have moon in 2nd and i just want more and more money. for me, it's about accumulating security through wealth, but yet not spending the wealth, just amassing it and banking it. i love finance and accounts and all things banking, and (for me) the moon trines a 7-planet stellium in the 10th, so the wealth = comes via career choices. seeking the security through emotions or spirituality vs. money is likely a manner of where the other planets are placed and what aspects they make. i feel no need for spiritual or emotional or family security, it's all money-centric.IP: Logged |
