But generally, the face/head are lengthened or tapered a bit more than would be otherwise for the sign. Women tend to have some qualities normally identified with Venus like lengthened lashes, alluring eyes, tendency to apply makeup and jewelry for getting attention.

The eyes tend more towards a hypnotized look in pictures than for any other chart factor.

Illusion - the way the person appears in pictures may differ quite a lot and may differ from their natural appearance in-person quite a lot.

Pluto gives me an edgy, feisty appearance but then sometimes I look so soft and sweet, ppl say angelic...I'm guessing that is Neptune coming through.

The guys are the type to grow their beard and the women appear very much like Anastasia from "50 Shades" in mannerisms or style of dressing(or both).

There is a tendency to detach and "dress down" because Neptune in aspect with Asc dissociates one(Neptune) with the physical body(1st).

A lot of them wear shades or have that "I am drowsing off to sleep" look. There is seldom an energetic go-getter energy with them.

If Neptune aspects the Asc ruler,the mannerisms could be very mysterious i.e the person can be very quiet,almost "invisible" or there could be something in the way they move/body language that comes across as lacking in dominance or not wanting to "disturb" the space around them.

Anyways, I think it's sort of hard to classify Neptune rising. There is no "typical" way that these people can act. I have this and I don't think I behave in a gentle, lost, invisible way. I project myself forward very strongly. At least, I believe I do. Neptune rising can play any role that it wants to play. We are true chameleons so we can behave any which way and have any sort of mannerisms that we desire. Sometimes, we do so by mimicking someone else that we admire. So, I feel like the persona for Neptune rising can be a very distinct character of their choosing. It's hard to pin us down to one type. I think the "lost in space" Neptune risers just aren't self-aware enough to have chosen a role.

But, I do think that Neptune rising all share these certain characteristics:
*looking nothing like your pictures
*looking like a different person in every picture
*always getting mistaken for someone else
*seeming sort of pure and untainted
*prominent eyes: very soulful and/or dreamy looking; also usually large
*seen as the kind of person who gets high, for some reason, even if you don't
*compassionate or kindhearted side that people see instantly, even when you try to hide it

Aries23Degrees, that's also a good point about liking to look unkempt. I let my facial hair grow to the point of forgetting about it a lot. And even though I have Virgo Venus trine my Ascendant, I don't care about just rolling out of bed and throwing something on and walking out of the house. I think I've had to grow into that side of myself and I feel so much happier now that I'm pretty careless about my appearance. It actually makes me feel more confident, ironically.

Supposedly, this placement is supposed to make you a bit naive. I wish this were a little true for me! Lol. I've been cynical and jaded about the world since I was a child.

Yes to all of it. However for many years I was anal about my appearance (and still am to a certain extent -venus in the first / neptune conjunct asc coming from the 12th) but for the past couple of years i've become very relaxed and don't feel the need to primp for something as minor as a trip to the store.
