ok 2 questions:1) if you have say your aries sun in the 12th does that incline you more towards being a neptunian tinged aries? like my gem sun is in the 8th which would make me more plutonic right? 2) I have read that people who have personal planets like venus in the 12th house would make them gravitate towards having secret affairs with unattainable people. can anyone relate or has experienced this? i want to learn more. One meaning of Venus in the 12H is secret love affairs. It's one of the placements, Venus in major aspect to Neptune is similar, of impossible love or loving someone who is unattainable. Having Venus in the 12H, I suspect on some level, the choice of beloved being unattainable is deliberate on an unconscious level because Venus in the 12th longs for a soul mate, a love that is transcendent, boundless, and eternal. No human love can satisfy this longing. I think it takes time to learn to separate the archetypal and ideal from human reality in relationship and not to mix them up or conflate the two realms. Also, at least on some level or maybe later in life, Venus in the 12H knows that love spans lifetimes and therefore can wait to be with someone they love. I also think Venus in the 12H experiences can be, depending on the person's level of evolution, a path to unconditional love, and a Love that contains all things, that is, if a person can see or intuit beyond the ego's frustration of desire for romantic love. If not, then Venus in the 12H does entail the less desirable and negative manifestations we've all heard of. IP: Logged |

it sounds like a deeply challenging placement to have So the reason for the love affair addiction one might have is to find that true source of love (unconsciously of course). As opposed to a quick fling?! quote: Venus in the 12th longs for a soul mate, a love that is transcendent, boundless, and eternal.
are there other placements/aspects that would have this? because i can relate but i dont have a 12h venus..IP: Logged |

It isn't all that challenging. What Peony writes is beautiful. But not all of us are that spiritual or ethereal. Some of us just live in real life. I'm a Sag, not a Pisces so my life isn't that poetic. I'm not waiting for my soul mate and although I love to be in relationships, I wouldn't say I was in any way "love addicted". I actually don't believe soul mates exist. If I find one, I of course, will be happy to tell you all I was wrong. I don't even believe that there is only the ONE person for each of us. As for secret love affairs. I prefer to use the word "private". My love life is no one else's business but mine and I very much like to keep it that way. Saying "secret love affair" to me always sounds elicit, and negative to me. My love affairs have never been like that though there are some I've not told people about. Again, my business. And I've had my share of flings. As always, you have to look at the whole of the chart and the personality that goes with that 12th house Venus. Now.... My 12H Mars.... Blech! IP: Logged |

The 12th house suppresses/turns inward. Hence, a planet there almost has it's back to the wall. If it is Mars, assertion is hard. If it is the Moon, expressing emotions is hard. If it is Venus, putting one's love out there is hard.------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

^^^ As a 12th stellium, I disagree. I prefer, sometimes NEED to be alone, get lost in my thoughts, live in my imagination from time to time. I have NO problems asserting myself if I feel it's necessary. Mercury, Venus, mars IP: Logged |

Is your Mars within 10 degrees of the ASC? That makes it 1st House imo

That makes you assertive and gives confidence lolI do not call these planets 12th house because they do not have the nature of 12th house planets imo ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I'm assertive and have plenty of confidence and my mars is well and truly in the 12th. My issues are more personal/interenal. I'm not all that driven when it comez to 'me' things and i can be very indecisive because i can see both sides of everything! IP: Logged |

I'm a 12th House Sun, 12th House is in Leo. I'm not exactly an introvert. But I get extreeeemely tired around people if I stay for a long time. I need to recharge my "batteries" often, even when we go out sometimes I step aside for a minute or just "zone out" IP: Logged |

ah interesting! So, I know someone with a 12th house sun and i wondered about that because he certainly doesn't seem like an introvert. he's actually wanting to be out in the limelight as a singer and performer. then someone told me that they find that hard to believe since 12th house suns tend to be introverted and wouldn't put themselves out there like that?! unless i have his ascendant wrong!IP: Logged |

I have Moon and Venus in the 12H and I'm the same way. After about 24 hours of continuous talking and being with people, I need quiet and alone time. IP: Logged |

A former president of the United States, George W. Bush, was a 12H Sun. I'd be very surprised if an introvert could do that job. lol IP: Logged |

I think this is the traditional negative interpretation of planets in the 12H. I'd say humanity has evolved and so has astrology. The classical interpretations need to be updated. IP: Logged |

My sister is a Leo with a 12h sun. She was very shy growing up and even today, she doesn't have very many friends. She married a double Pisces who was also very introverted.IP: Logged |

If I know a placement to be a certain way, I do not listen to self reports to the contrary for a number of reasons. One, the person may be in denial. Two, the person may not want to admit it, for some reason. Hence, I do not change what I know about Astrology unless I would have many, many people report the same thing. Then, I would try to understand why and to see if there were mitigating factors. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE.

I'm a 12th house Sun, Moon, Mercury and Jupiter. Mercury is the only planet conjunct my Asc. Jupiter is conjunct my Sun and Moon. I'm incredibly extroverted and assertive. Very happy. I'm called "smiley" by everyone who knows me or meets me. I'm not gloomy or depressed (I had severe depression in my teenage years). I do get exhausted after hours of being around large numbers of people but wouldn't a lot of people lol. I love getting to know new people, not at all shy or get weirded out talking to strangers. The 12th house is not responsible for introversion! It isn't gloomy or sad. It's one of the most selfless houses aside from having that very personal side. I can't stand people that have never personally experienced something talk the most crap about the thing they've never experienced. Like can you open your mind or nah? I'm not at all inward or into myself. I care much more for other people and would help another person anytime before helping myself. I'm very selfless and take pride in that quality about myself. My back isn't against any wall. I don't have a hard time expressing emotions I have a hard time caring enough to talk about them. I'd rather talk and help someone else. I feel like that sounds arrogant which is not what I meant. I can handle my emotions and don't need help or empathy unlike Cancer/4th. IP: Logged |
