How does this work?

I have friends who are technically Scorpio rising and pisces rising. But their decals are actually in the other sign (pisces rising, 3rd Decan, scorpio) and (Scorpio rising, 3rd, pisces). When you first meet them, you would mistake one as the other.

It just seems strange that decans only effect your Sun and Ascendant. Of course if I'm wrong, please correct me. My Aquarius Sun and Scorpio ascendant are both in the first decan, so go Uranus and Pluto! \m/

They affect all planets. Not just the sun.

Good post. I think it works as follows: The aura is basically the same (Asc sign) but the actual actions may vary a bit (decan). I personally believe decans go beyond the sun and asc.

I have Scorpio Asc (Cancer Decan 24 degrees). I have a tendency to be very nurturing in a somewhat distant or reserved manner. As in, I may not come over and hug you when you are sick, but I will be the first to silently bring you a cup of tea, stare at you VERY observantly to make sure all is well, then quietly return to my lair. Scorpio is reserved (aura), Cancer is helpful (actions). That's my Asc. in a nutshell.

Same scenario is true for my moon. My moon is in Gemini (Aqua decan). I am somewhat of a super eccentric intellectual. Gemini energy makes me learn a bunch of stuff (languages, computers, medical, etc.), but Aqua makes me take it to another level (a weird level lol). As in, I literally mix and concoct, build and create, ALL. THE. TIME. I've made a hooded dryer out of a grocery bag. I take apart my computer down to a hundred pieces, test, study, test, put it back together. Made pants out of curtains. I've cured myself of rashes with an oil mix lol. I literally do these things for my emotional well-being (moon), probably why it has this effect.

Aquarius also happens to be the least social air sign and I noticed I am far less social than other Gem moon people. I absolutely DO NOT need to be social for my emotional well-being. Just let me be weird in peace and I'm good. So I definitely think decans should be applied to all placements.
