I have a theory that peers fall into two groups: those who have challenging aspects from Saturn, and those who don't.As of this year, I've come to the conclusion that I cannot be around people with easy aspects from Saturn to Sun. IP: Logged |

Hey Sass! Long time no talk!I was coming on to this thread to confirm some of what was said. My oldest daughter has Moon conjunct Saturn, in the 10th. She indeed sees me as strict/controlling, cold and unemotional, and she needs a different emotional response than what comes naturally to me. I am a Cap Moon myself. I am strict, and I do have a tendency to try to control situations. It's a struggle. And she does also have chronic depression. . I do see where I could have done better for her, when she was younger, and how I wasn't there for her how she needed me to be. Knowing what I know about astrology, I talk with her as much as I can, and ask her how I can better support her, be there for her, and I try. But it's really hard. And I realize that she has to learn how to navigate this aspect for herself, and not always rely on her external circumstances to change for her. On the positive side of things, I am also stability. I am her role model in the bigger picture of life and she has learned hard work and ethics as a result. She also has Sun in 10th house. Neither her dad nor myself are famous or in the public light. She does have an incredible drive though and I believe whole heartedly that she will become well known in her endeavors. She is an advocate for women, and with moon in 10th she is also quite active in acting and theater. Moon in Cap- (me)- my mom is very hardworking (though she did not have a career), and also very emotionally distant. She was not emotionally nurturing when I was young, quite the opposite actually- pretty emotionally damaging. Still to this day we only discuss things she is comfortable discussing. Very controlling, though as she has aged she has relaxed a little. And her need for controlling is more about herself than anything else, as is true for most people (self included). IP: Logged |

Hey! Wow.. blast from the past.. Time flies when we're having fun doesn't it.I love your depth Stonemoon... I wonder where your up to with everything - personally, as well as astrological research. Did you conclude on the pesky Uranus/Pluto opposite Chiron generation? How did that dude work out in the end? It's ok I don't expect an answer, it's all so complicated Back on topic - Saturn squares really shape a temperament.. But, then so do they all - Plutonians eat me for breakfast. And as ever it depends on the whole chart/s. Sounds like you have it together with your daughter Stonemoon.. I guess she wants someone to easy that harsh Saturn energy out of her psyche. Don't we all! Maybe she can learn to incorporate some soft elements into her life? Go to a spa for soft water soothing, or swimming, or bathing self-care.. Some of the things I do to soften some edges. In answering the op: umm.. conjunctions are competing for the same turf (in space and time) and can eventually fuse together more than the other aspects and be more incorporated into the psyche. But they are still challenging. The Squares are also arguing together, but are pulling this way and that way on the horizontal and vertical plane, they will not fuse, but must take turns (like the opposition). Also, an aspect configuration, such as a conjunction with Saturn, differs from a planet in Capricorn in the sense that, the planet is additionally smothered and oppressed by Saturn (as the larger energy competing for the space). But then it depends too if the aspect applying or separating. Whereas the planet in the actual sign of Capricorn alone, has a clear and "purer" expression of the sign. They will all have a similar feel but with finer distinctions. Capricorn Moon conjunct Saturn sounds so heavy. From what I recall anyhow. IP: Logged |

I haven’t been on this forum in two years, but y’all are bringing me back lol!So I have to say I love my Saturn energy. I’m a triple pisces- my 8th house pisces sun, moon, and Mercury are all conjunct and square Saturn (and trine Pluto, but that’s another story). My biggest energies are pisces, Saturn, Pluto/Scorpio, with a twinge of fire (Leo rising and Aries Venus and mars conjunct). Anyways, I love the Saturn energy because it balances out all that water I have. My Pisces heart would be a mess I feel like if I didn’t have that grounding presence that Saturn brings. I feel like it makes me down to earth. Yes, I’m a perfectionist and I love order and organization (surprisingly I don’t have any Virgo qualities despite being very type A). I am very hard on myself and I have accomplished some pretty amazing things (or so my mom says lol) and I just think “meh, I could have done it better.” But I really like that it has me attract a lot of Capricorn people. I love Caps. My husband is a Pisces as well but has a lot of Capricorn energy. Our son is a Capricorn rising. Some of my good friends are Caps, etc etc. they are the best people! IP: Logged |

Me too polkadotstars! Nice reminder It's just so - well - useful. And keeps me occupied forever! It's the ruler of, and trines my Venus and Ascendant. I look at others who cannot organise and be practical and think: I wouldn't wanna be ya But it gives my Aqua Sun a bit of a hard time sometimes. I'm not all that light and breezy compared to others who don't have the square. They seem to just be able to have a good time no matter how untidy the rest of their lives are! IP: Logged |

Right??? I saw you pop up and thought this must be an old post! I gave up on that dating thing. And apropos for this thread, have fully delved into my Saturn side and focused on career. And thanks for the kindness, but I definitely don't have it together with my girl! But I am working on it, and that's all we can do, right? Ironically, she lives more in her Neptune side and she needs to develop some Saturn at the moment. But you are absolutely right, softening toward herself is good for her. Somewhere between her Neptune and her Saturn is the balance she needs. And that is likely at the heart of the issue. If you resist, Saturn works harder to get through to you. IP: Logged | |
