Can anyone tell me what Sun and/or Moon square Saturn is like? How is it different from Sun/Moon conjunct Saturn, or trine saturn, or even a Capricorn Sun/Moon, or Sun/Moon in 10th house? IP: Logged |

I have Sun square Saturn natally. Aries Sun 11 house square Saturn Capricorn 9th house. Hmm some little observations that may have to do with this. I don’t look or seem like an Aries to people at first. 9th house higher education, college never appealed to me, but I learned I must do it. I’ll answer any questions you have. IP: Logged |

Sun square Saturn is the challenge to build the inner strength of character that will show in how you meet tests in the outer world. It is not merely for will power, but for a materially constructive purpose. Materially means for tangible benefit in the world and lives of those around you. This aspect can be identified with ambition, but struggles over time to meet with success. It can also be identified in many people as an apparent struggle from early in life to meet with approval from parent/father/teachers. However, that is karmic setup, not purpose. The trick is to not get caught up in the game of trying to validate yourself by proving your worth to those doubters or obstructing people, but to see it purely as developing the strength and follow-through to see constructive purposes through to a tangible finish. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology - by the declinations guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

Sensitive(square)about one's sense of self(Sat). An increased need to establish boundaries about who you are vs. Being invisible or detached from all that.So for instance someone could use an incorrect title to address you.And you correct them. Or you are clumped into a group that you feel is "beneath" you and feel the restrictions agitative to you. Saturn tends to steel us.So this transit may make us come across less sympathetic to others or unable to merge with their point of view(unllike Neptune). We tend towards pragmatism more now. In our pursuit to realize where we end and begin or what we are capable of, we may become single-minded in our quest and become prickly with those who don't share our committed approach. Some get additional qualifications (Sat) or increase the competencies/skills relative to the field they are in(Sat). Others may become parents, buy a home or enter into long term agreements I.e. marriage, business partnerships etc. Saturn is "growing pains". And when on the Sun, we may condense our lofty ideals to what is likely rather than what is desired. The square may suggest huge attachment to whatever it is we are committed to. An inability to detach or see other possibilities.

Hmmm interesting. Does it manifest in the way of me not thinking my accomplishments are that great? For instance I made a division one sports team in college as a walk on and I didn’t think it was a big deal while my parents kept saying what a big deal it was. And I’ve had numerous accomplishments where I don’t want to relish in what it took to get there, I just wanted to focus on “okay, I’m here, now what is my course of action going forward?”. I guess you could say it’s being super humble. IP: Logged |

Question - how does Sun square Mars/Pluto/Saturn differ? Does the Mars/Pluto/Saturn conj. amplify these tendencies?IP: Logged |

I have Saturn oppo my mars and moon so I'm not sure which energy is which. But in my case, I self sabotage a lot! I get so exhausted trying to get everything in the right way, that I procastinate and then I sabotage stuff for myself! Also Moon-saturn, I fear of being a failure and also I'm very sensetive to criticism from males in my life.IP: Logged |

@PolkadotstarsSun square Saturn anticipate the worst outcome and people seeing the worst of them. So yes, rarely do they feel they are "good enough". The individual could be beautifully/handsome. But will have a hard time appreciating that fully. Self deprecating, self ridicule through either sarcastic humor or being hard on themselves can happen. Unfortunately it doesn't make them a joy to be aroubd either for others as they may quickly project this criticism on others-especially in relatiobships. Making them people that are so damne hard to please. @Melanin The best way to assure a Saturn-Sun square individual, is to not compliment them in a BIG way. They may think it disingenuous. So you have to be subtle and do it in a manner that is not exaggerated. That usually hits the mark. My ex has Sun in Libra conjunct Saturn in Libra. Saturn square Moon. And I have Venus conj Saturn so Saturn works in ways i have come to understand. Its not that these guys are "humble" per se. Many are aware of their capabilities as Saturn is about the specifics. So they know. The issue here is not wanting to make an error/ mistake. To be totally competent and unquestionable. They set the bar for themselves pretty high. If Neptune-Sun dreams of perfection or exhibiting perfection. Sun-Saturn knows what it takes and is always acutely aware of how far/close they are from it. They are always harder on themselves than ithers would ever be and find it difficult to cut themselves some slack. The best way to be there for them is not to make them feel bad for that. But offer yourself as a relief from all that. As mostly nurturing soft lunar energy is hauntingly attractive to them. Most find it hard to resist. IP: Logged |

I have Sun square Saturn in my chart. Although I have tighter aspects, Saturn's square to my Sun feels like the strongest aspect I have. Maybe this has to do with it aspecting my Sun.Many people notice that I'm hard on myself. The expectations I have of myself are high, because I know that I can achieve a lot if I keep working on developing the skills I have. By no means do I think that the goals I have are easy ones. My goals require a lot of time, effort, and hard work, so yes, I can come off as incredibly serious. However, I'm not as hard on myself as I used to be. I can recognize when I've achieved enough and enjoy my accomplishments. The only thing is once I've achieved something, I always have another goal. IP: Logged |

I wonder what parts are due to my Saturn square. I’ve has childhood dreams I’ve gave up on. Who doesn’t? Lol I can be obsessive with goals sometimes. When I was a teen I realized having one big goal to obsesss over is not happiness. The amount of pressure to achieve one goal. I started a bucket list. I went though a phase where I became more obsessed with experiences rather than being “successful.” I was very unmotivated in my early 20’s. I was not very school or job driven at all. It’s frowned upon, but it was just something I needed to get out of my system before I perused a degree. I basically disliked school since 1st grade. So I guess I’ve never been a big fan of conforming, but I eventually do...cause...I pretty much have to. Lol I never really liked the idea of having to be somewhere all day all the time. And so much yes about working hard, but at the end of the day it needs to be for me! Ugh yes, I really feel like validation from others is a part of life whether we like it or not! I mean that’s probably part of why I am not a total school person. When I was working while finishing school, I would express “when can I finally do something that doesn’t involve people validating my self worth?!” For my sanity and happiness, I am aware that I do need to do things just for me! AKA ME TIME. Running, bath, being lazy. Etc. Though it feels good to be recognized positively. Relying on others approval over my own won’t make me happy. Having bad criticism can be a downer. Especially people and places it has to matter like a supervisor. Sometimes criticism is constructive. But when failure is expressed...I need to be alone and sulk. And then sometimes I just find people’s criticism down right annoying and rude and I just want them to eff off. Especially when it’s over something stupid, like what I’m wearing is a big deal and they think I owe them an explanation for it. Basically sometimes people’s judgement can boil my blood. Including my boyfriend only noticing when I’m lazy and eat junk food...but not himself. Don’t worry I call him out and bring it to his attention. But I hold my toungue for other people I’m not so close to, and keep my sarcastic remarks to myself. I’ll end with this confession I don’t over idealize career anymore. I discovered I like being a home and going out when I want. Basically doing whatever I damn please. If I didn’t have to work, I would not. Though I am greatful for some of my experiences with work school and people I’ve met on the way. IP: Logged |

My Libra Sun in 1st house squares my Cancer Saturn in 9th house. Cool we have the same placement. I'm not sure about college yet, but I just want to be able to make a career.

sun square saturn overall a rather gloomy aspect (unless also jupiter aspects the sun to cheer it up), the person always feels like they need to do more to prove their self worth, thus they go out of their comfort zone a lot to try and achieve something, and once they achieve something, they still don't feel like they're enough, and need to accomplish something else, this may never stop, chronic procrastination and lack of consistency may be witnessed in the person, as it's hard to choose sometimes whether to focus their activities on their sun (and the house it is in) or their saturn (and its house) moon square saturn a criticizing mother who perhaps wasn't in touch with her feminine side perhaps also malnutrition during early life the person struggles with getting in touch with their deeper emotions and accepting their feminine side they do it eventually though, because that's the lesson saturn is trying to teach with the sun opposite saturn, the situations are rather different, hardships have been cast on the person's life by external factors (such as not having a supportive parent or enough money for education, etc) chronic tiredness and a general lack of energy or the "life force" can be seen, but there can also be times when the person feels super energetic and feels like they can achieve anything, these people are late bloomers..if others get married or run their own business by 30, these people may achieve success in late 30s moon opposite saturn you were forced to suppress your emotions because of situations at times the person find themselves wanting to shout out their emotions to the whole world, so this person may choose artistic and self-expressive jobs sun conjunct saturn the father was strict and determined to make a name and position for himself he expected the same from you, and thus you find yourself in situations that force you to go his way, perhaps continue the family business, or whatever other activity is related to the house the sun is in in your chart, there can be a strictness and seriousness to the character, determined to achieve no matter what moon conjunct saturn you find your mother a very strict person, perhaps also critize her for her coldness and lack of ability to show motherly emotions the person is thirsty for motherly love though, and tries to buy the affection of often authority like females by working for them, they may also have chronic depression sun trine saturn again rather gloomy, saturn trines still make you feel the pressure and strictness of saturn, thus self-sabotaging and being hard on oneself, but they're less irritating than the squares
capricorn sun or moon your father or mother were serious and hard working people sun in the 10th your father was famous or had an important public job you were in the public light since childhood and thus always feel like everybody is up in your business father may push you toward following his footsteps and regardless of whether you choose to do the same thing as him or not, you have access to the connections he has everwhere the person may be super humble or under-dress in the public to dim the light in an attempt to gain a bit of privacy and to receive less attention the person is determined to succeed anyway, and whatever the sun sign is, the person wants to bring out the qualities of that sign into the public use, and leave behind a lecagy moon in the 10th the person's emotions find out a way to get into the public eye, perhaps through art or poetry or a job related to women and the mother might have been famous or important in the public if the person is male, he may be super popular with women, but it also depends on the moon degree as well as its aspects with other planets

Thank you all!I think my Leo rising balances me out so that I'm not super serious. I am very goal oriented and when I set my mind on something I just go and do it, although maybe that is the Aries Mars. I am also an 8 life path, which I don't know how much I really believe in those. I am also a green aura as well. I think all of those say something about being good business people. IP: Logged |

I think that a bad aspect to Saturn, make the person feel even more unloved and lonely than with a good aspect. For example Venus square or opposite to Saturn. IP: Logged |

My sun is in 11th house and i have this thing where i feel i have to try hard to be liked by my friends or else they wont care for me...looking back that "emotion" came quite early in life, before i even started school, i never had a "best friend" i was never someones that important friend, i felt replecable - and through life i was replaced :/ i learned to love my own friendship, i learned i only NEED my own conpany and i learned never to expect other people will appreciate my company like i might appreciate their - i tend to either invest myself too much in friendship or just avoide it... i have sun, venus and mercury in 11th so social life is stressed in my chart, i have a lot of energy circulating in that house but its frustrating because my social life is not the way i want it. The sun rules my asc so friendships are important for my idea of my own self image, i prefer "pretty" and "popular" and "fun" friends but not "bitchy" onesIP: Logged |

Know one person with this. Taurus Sun sq Leo Saturn. She constantly seeks approval of her father and it appears that he is EVERYTHING. It’s quite a frightening relationship they have..it irks me. He demands, she obeys and I don’t know which one of them that gets their ego rubbed more..IP: Logged |
