quote: Originally posted by Kannon McAfee: I've worked with his chart and I believe the correct Asc is 26° Libra, so that would put it conjunct Moon 0° Scorpio in 1st house.Transits Marriage #1 to Pattie Boyd - 21 January 1966. Notice how many transiting planets are around 20-22°. Jupiter and Mars are in trines to Asc, sextiles to DC if Asc is 26° Libra. They're around 6° out if Asc is 28° Libra, which is too wide for transits. And notice Venus down near the IC in this chart (using the time 11:42 PM, the alternative birth time posted on Astrodatabank). Transits Marriage #2 - 2 September 1978. (Date set here for 3rd because 0:00 UT/GMT gives afternoon time for 2nd in L.A./wedding location.) Notice Venus at 26°, Jupiter 29° Cancer squaring Asc. And more importantly here North Node helps pinpoint the Asc/DC axis along with Venus.
Also notice that along the IC/MC axis is Mercury & Pluto. Harrison was very influential (Pluto-MC), yet his solo career was born out of frustration with McCartney-Lennon under-utilizing his guitar playing and songwriting talents (Mercury). Mercury's position near IC in 4th shows a solo career better suited him. The progressions also confirm 26° Libra as a valid Asc, but there's a lot more than these two events involved in a rectification or chart validation. I've not yet posted an article on George Harrison's birth chart because I've been wanting to deliver it as part of a total Beatles package, which may never happen. And in case you're not convined, here are Synastries with his two wives ... 26° Libra chart - Synastry with wife #1, Pattie Boyd (B-rated time, ignore Moon pos & Asc/MC): 26° Libra chart - Synastry with wife #2, Olivia Arias (unknown time, noon used, ignore Moon, Asc/MC): You don't even have to refer to the declinations with the synastries since the wives' planets in longitude confirm George's Asc in late Libra so well. This is actually a birth chart that exposes the fault line in the notion of 'moment of delivery' (or 'first breath') being synonymous with precisely correct Ascendant figures. George clearly demonstrated a Libran personality in various relationships with his love of the ladies, repeated infidelities, and successful collaborations with a wide variety of musicians well beyond the Beatles. He remained very close friends with the other three Beatles in spite of being overshadowed by the Lennon-McCartney songwriting duo. He rather spontaneously and gracefully founded the greatest rock super group, The Traveling Wilburys, which included: Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne (ELO), and Roy Orbison. Talk about lightning in a bottle! And if you're still not convinced ... 26° Libra chart's death transits. Neptune right on IC/4th house cusp, first house of endings:
Oh wow, I really love the way you analyze and how you know about astrology! I very much appreciate this. Thank you. Chances are, he was born on February 24, so I don't think you're very wrong but I have a bad time accepting him as a Libra rising because everyone I met with that rising is very different than George was, though that's not very important haha. Thanks for your time and energy on this. IP: Logged |

Yes, that is the confusing thing, because he had Scorpio Moon.😬 Thanks for your reply! IP: Logged |

quote: Originally posted by GalacticCoreExplosion: Yeah, sure, Libra likes romance, and especially being in a relationship. It's a sign that tends towards co-dependency more than most. Those with Libra very strong tend to really want and almost feel like they need to be in a long term, committed type relationship. But is this what was going on with George? Not really. He was a sex addict, pure and simple. He was way overly attached to sex. What Rising Sign besides Leo has the most prodigious sex drive and strong focus on sex? Scorpio. He wasn't courting these ladies and being romantic. He wasn't trying to have actual relationships with them. He was like, I want your body and energy, you want my body and energy, now let's shag, and he did it serially. This is one of the shadow expressions of Scorpio--especially Scorpio males. It is due to a combination of their innate very strong sex drive due to strong vital forces, mixed with a tendency to mix up sexual merging with the Feminine as a "spiritual" thing, and unconsciously as a way to get in touch with their inner Feminine. However, it doesn't quite work that way in real life, and so they can get quite addicted to such patterns, even though it might feel empty after awhile. I hope when he passed, he bypassed the "pile" that Bob Monroe perceived and talked about--Bob a Scorpio Sun who also had a strong drive and focus, and perhaps had that experience partially as a guidance message/not so subtle warning about where over attachment to sex can lead. In general, George was a man of extremes and INTENSITY, which fits Scorpio Asc more than Libra. Libra is about, or eventually tries to become about balance. Scorpio is about extremes and delving into life with intensity and with no middle ground. Many articles describe George like this. Here is one: http://theweek.com/articles/481422/george-harrison-beatle-who-hated-fame Also consider that his first major illness--throat cancer, dealt with the opposite Sign of his potential Rising Sign--Taurus and the throat. There are often a mirroring and reflection action that can happen with Rising Signs in relation to their opposite Sign and the parts of the body that it rules. For example, I have Leo Rising, and I've had an ankle issue off and on for awhile. As to the transits, I will have to look more into that when I have time. If he does have Libra Rising, it's likely probably even more closely cusping Scorpio. However, a close Moon Asc conjunction just doesn't fit him holistically from looks to personality. As to his collaborations with others, and his general creativity, let's not forget the obvious here. He had Pisces Sun with Pisces Venus closely cusping Aries. Pisces is the most merging/blending Sign there is (and being co-ruled by Jupiter, can be quite sociable when it's in the mood), and also very creative. With his Venus closely cusping Aries, and in the 5th House, he's going to be more sociable and active, and the 5th House placement shows a double emphasis on creativity and/or possible collaboration with others in creativity. Venus is not an energy that likes to do things solely on it's own. Collaboration is kind of it's bread and butter. One doesn't need a Libra Rising to get those traits and tendencies with the rest of his chart. And yet, he had this brooding, intense, hard to get to know quality that fits Scorpio Rising far better. He was quite sociable with people he trusted and liked, but in general, he could be a bit stand offish and was a deeply private person. He disliked the fame aspect more than any other member of The Beatles.
I was thinking about this. I see George as the typical Pisces that wants to ''love'' everyone and that is difficult to catch, like a moving fish. That he was romantic and charming but Pisces-style and that he was sexual Scorpio-style. All the people I know who have Libra rising are more about having stable relationships and looking 'softer', George had a very sexual look to me. I look at him and see sex. I will always be confused. quote: Originally posted by hypatia238: My last lover with scorpio rising was super kinky and died at 28 I suspect doing something related to sex or suicide. If he was a scorpio riser it makes sense he was a very sexual person if he also has a strong mars, libra risers are more vanilla and he does have a strong mars, he has mars in capricorn exalted opposite Jupiter so that would give him a high sex drive period but add scorpio riser and he could be obsessed with sex with that combo, don't know a lot about him or his sex life. He does have somewhat round features, the eyes, and since he has moon square mars in the 3H and moon square mercury in the 3H I feel this would give him a fast metabolism (mercury/3H/Mars all lean towards lean/skinny and fast metabolisms), having moon on the 1H does not automatically mean the person will be fat, there is also free will playing out too. His moon on the AC also forms a YOD with Saturn in the 8H and venus in the 5H which I feel is a marker for his artistic destiny and also supports the sex addiction theory along with mars opposite jupiter and scorpio rising. However a libra riser can be highly sexual too, like Dumuzi who has Mars on the IC as the apex of a TSquare between Venus opposite Moon also on angles with rule of the 5H Uranus in the 3H in Saggy.
Oh, I'm sorry about that. That's a good analysis. I think that people with Libra rising who look sexual have a strong Mars or just Mars in a fire sign, but if they don't have any of that they seem very calm and hardly ever talk about sex nor do people say anything sexual about them. That's my experience at least. Thanks for your reply! IP: Logged |
