Moon - Cancer’s Traditional ruler , Virgo’s esoteric ruler , Exalted in Taurus Ceres - probably Taurus & Virgo ruler , probably exalted in Cancer 4th house - home , family , motherhood 6th house - Healing , health & wellness, cleanliness, daily routine But my initial answer is: Cancer : It is the sign of the Mama bear 🐻, nurturing Virgo : Virgo is also a maternal sign and being a sign of service and great problem solvers Pisces : We’re givers , also nurturers , peace loving mom Taurus : Great protectors , great cooks , reliable mothers I would also love to add that Aries & Leo can be great mothers as they’re highly protective
Please add yours ☺️

I'm not at all sure but I had thought maybe Virgo is best due to routines and service/care as well Virgo is the expecting mother. I think 2nd would be Taurus. (Values house) and 3) Capricorn, seen as a very good mother - especially if this is a role the mother has as her career. Her main duty in life is her children. IP: Logged |

I agree with your answer but I thought Capricorn is the father of the zodiac IP: Logged |

I'd think Venus in the 5th house would make a good mother (love for children) and moon in the 4th.

Maybe a more masculine mommy? Or a practical and stern one? IP: Logged |

Yes that’s right , also moon in 6th house cos of it’s healing tendencies, there’s nothing more motherly than being a healer who your kids can run to whenever they’re down IP: Logged |

Honestly I don’t think Capricorns or Capricorn placements are motherly , the 10th house rules masculinity, ruled by Saturn both exoteric & esoteric, it’s constellation is about the fatherly seagoat, there’s nothing motherly about them , I wouldn’t even call them the sugar papa, they’re rather the militant father IP: Logged |

My grandmother, mother, and myself are all Taurus suns and while my grandmother was an excellent mother (she raised 5 kids protecting them from a very abusive father) my mother was and still is awful. Granted there are outstanding circumstances that caused her to be a bad one (car accident with tbi). I don't know their tob so I can't say what house their moon is in but my moon is in the 6th with cancer on 2nd and 3rd house cusps. I am extremely protective of my kids. I'm pretty sure someone hurting one of my children would be the only thing that could unleash a hell fire from me (moon/Pluto). I'm the oldest of 4 and had custody of my younger 2 siblings when they were young and had custody of my youngest siblings child for a year too. I'd say moon in cancer, then virgo, then 6th house for a good mother/protector. I think any sun sign would be a good match with these moon combinations. Also I know a few Leo moon women who are very good mothers too. Different approaches to motherhood but still good in my book. My 1st sister is Aquarius sun with Leo moon and she is also the friend type mom who would accept her kids no matter who or what they are (Aquarius influence) but also very loving and has that "me and my home are my kid's safe place" vibe. She's also very protective of her children too. I think I'm harder on my kids though, I don't let anything slide but we do talk it out and try to find a solution instead of a punishment (libra moon). My mom has a gemini moon I don't think I have one memory of her being any kind of emotional support for us. IP: Logged |

There is a woman in my life I call auntie but she is not related to me, who has no biological children, but she is like a mother to all the children of her friends. She and her late husband adopted her cousin's child that was 16 at that time to give her a better life (something she probably wouldn't have had if she stayed with her bio family). She also took other girls into her home and let them stay for free until they could sort themselves out. She has known me since I was a baby beccause her and my dad have been old friends, and I have always adored her. She has the talent to make you feel loved and special just by being around you. She is very accepting, loving and fun. Somehow she's always managed to bring all types of different people together and create a great time for everyone at her many parties. Noone was miserable ever around her and all of us kids loved her and still love her. I'd call her an ideal mother type. She is also very independent so that was what I've always loved about her, too as a girl and now as a grown woman, too. She is an Aquarius sun and Leo moon. Also everyone saying moon in Cancer would be great mothers despite the sun sign. That míght be true but only if no other things in the natal chart speak against it. I do not want my own children, because I find it too suffocating. I have Uranus in my 5th house and I have an afflicted moon. There are several other things in my natal that go against that. I know several other Cancer moon women that are opposed to having children. IP: Logged |

I’m a Leo moon as well and I portray that mom friend type of energy , I know a libra moon who’s just the way you explained too , I also agree that cancer , Virgo & 6th house placements make for a protective mother , maybe your mom had some placements in her birth chart that must’ve led to her being abusive , Maybe Sagittarius, Scorpio, Aquarius or Capricorn placements? You’re right about the cancer moon if it’s afflicted, I know over 10 cancer moons that are motherly and know few that are very strict and smothering with their kids , the Aquarius sun and Leo moon you’re talking about, yes Leo moons are kinda motherly but look well at her natal chart cos she could have some Pisces placements that could make her love nurturing, naturally people treat what they lack with kindness so in her own situation I don’t necessarily think it’s about her birth chart, I feel she’s just being a woman , we women love kids and when some women don’t have kids , they most likely mother anyone they know or come across and treat them with so much kindness, I have an aunty like that too , a Sagittarius sun with a Gemini moon and she literally sees everyone like her child , she adopted 4 kids too IP: Logged |

Haiiiii OP.Are you in Chile? your username say so. You sure up early. I'm guessing Chile time is around the same as USA Eastern timezone. It 3AM here, my husband at work, my toddler is sleeping, so I'm up since I can't sleep without him anyways, and I'm eating snack, while get obsess with learning astrology, haha. If you don't have anything to do, you should go back to sleep, sleep for women give you great skin and stay youthful! I'm a wife and a mom, I don't remember last time I was youthful anymore, Lol And I don't know about best mom, but my husband is a better parent than me for sure. He is Cancer Rising, and he the one that raised this boy since newborn, infant to toddler, and still raised this boy. That why he work night so daytime he can have all the time to raise his kid. I'm Virgo Rising, and let me tell you, I am strict with my toddler. With my 4 year old, his dad is his BUDDY, lol. And mom is strict and always say No!. So it all run to Dadddddd, Daddddddddd for everything! NEVER mom. IP: Logged |

Your Virgo rising too? my goodness, me too! what a coincident. Maybe that why we get along since the beginning, I like your feisty and like read your post. I like my rising too, I was a pretty girl, that was before I got married. I stop take care of my looks since I became a mom, I'm a mess now, lol. It been 11 years and my life spin and spin around my husband. You know how Virgo rising are, we critical with our looks you know. I'm 37, have a 4 years old, and this toddler already gave me few greyed hair, haha I'm a mess. I'm 5 feet tall (150cm). My husband he 6'2" (189cm). He TALL and lean muscles. He runs long distance too. I can't even jog 5 min to save my life, Lol, let alone run distance and swim long distance like him. It because he always has his wedding ring on, and carry this toddler on his neck, or else he doesn't even look like he a dad. He look young and fit for his age (we born same year). I'm a mess. I don't know what happen to my Virgo Rising after I got married, haha I don't know about you but I'm hard on myself, hard on my husband and hard on my toddler too. Must be a Virgo thing. And my Pisces Moon is Opposition my Virgo Ascendant, my brain is a mess, it tiring (as you know Pisces and Virgo are the opposite of each others), I go back and forth want to balance both, it tiring, lol. btw, what is your Moon sign, I don't think you tell us yet, might as well just tell all of us your big 6. So far we know your Sun, Aries Mercury, Aries Venus, Aries Mars. What your Moon and Saturn? btw, do you have Reddit? there a sub in there call AskAstrologers (you might want to check it out if you have Reddit). Someone use traditional astrology read my husband chart in there, and they said it doesn't look good. His Pisces Sun sign is afflicted by his Scorpio Mars. they said Mars is too strong in his chart so watch his impulse. And his Uranus afflicted both his Sun and Moon, haha. Poor guy, and poor his cute and gentle Pisces Sun and diluted and bully by his Mars and Uranus, lol. IP: Logged |

No I don’t have reddit but I think about creating one , Virgo risings are known to be hard on themselves, I’m equally hard on myself most times , we’re blessed with gorgeous youthful feminine features, we age gracefully , I know you look good but that Virgo rising passivity might be the reason why you feel you look a mess lol
You know men hardly gain weight , your husband must also have his rising in one of them Gemini or Capricorn risings that are known to stay fit ......my Pisces sun plus my Virgo rising can give me a strong mutable energy with emotions lol , I’m a Leo moon too 😁 IP: Logged |

She has nothing in Pisces in her chart. (the Aqua sun, Leo moon). My uncle's wife is a Pisces sun and moon and I don't see any nurturing energy with her. I find Pisces energy to be "otherwordly" and "magical" but not necessarily nurturing. Many Pisces people are not good enough listeners to be nurturing But yeah it's always the whole natal chart that needs to be taken into account.

My mother is completely water void which in itself doesn't make one a bad mother but definitely makes it extremely difficult to relate and have an emotional attachment to her children. My father was almost all water, cancer moon and pisces sun/mercury, he was a very attentive father and a very good natured person, he was her target for a long time. IP: Logged |

Every child has different needs and what one person sees as an ideal mother can be terribly frustrating for another. I think if your Moon clashes with the Moon of your child it can be challenging. Especially if you’re having trouble with the shadow expression of your sign. I’m a Virgo Moon and yes, I’m very protective of my children and make sure they eat healthy and feel nurtured. But Virgo is also a very perfectionist sign that can have a lot of issues if things are not going according to their schedule. You need to be tolerant of a little bit of chaos and mess when you have little kids. It was something I found very difficult and consciously had to work on. The same with Cancer, again it can be a very warm and nurturing but also moody, emotional manipulative and smothering sign. I can imagine an unevolved Cancer Moon mother being the absolute nightmare of an Aquarius Moon child.

My father's moon is in Pisces and my moon is in Cancer so theoretically we should have gotten along but we really did not. It has been a very volatile and unhealthy relationship. At the end of the day it all comes down to the fact whether the parent is emotionally mature or not.

Cancer moon can be quite a suffocating or overprotective placement especially if your a free wheeling air sign or an adventurous fire sign , you might feel caged by a cancer or Virgo moon mom , as a libra yourself, you might find Gemini moons less possessive cos it’s also of air element like your sun sign IP: Logged |

Yes I agree with this one of my sister is a Scorpio sun with a Sagittarius moon and I can tell her mom skills irritate my Pisces sun as she’s too carefree , Adventurous, blunt and I wonder how her kids would cope but with what you just said , her first daughter is a Leo sun and thinks she’s the best mom on earth , her son is a Taurus sun and regrets being born by her , so you see that compatibility you were talking about 😂...... That could be his Aries sun especially considering the fact that the sun is the strongest in the Aries sign so their masculinity might be too raw like being too violent and all 🥺 IP: Logged | |
