So I am going to come up on my 8th house Profection year on August of next year and I turn 31. However, I have read a lot of things such as how you die in these years or lose a loved one. My 8th house is in Pisces (Leo Rising) so I would think that Jupiter is the ruler. Only thing it does in my natal chart is make trines to Uranus and Neptune while making a Sextile to Pluto.

Here is my chart for anyone interested but I was asking more about 8th house profections in general.

http://i.imgur.com/ogT0Zki.png

All I read when I google it is that you are going to either die, lose a loved one, get hit with debt, or inherit some money.

Hey,

Don't worry!

You are a year younger than me.

I just went on dates, changed a job. I received better offers and now I earn more. Jupiter is in my 1st house actually in Leo.

My dad bought me some things that were kind of expensive. I received some money last year from when Jupiter entered first time in Pisces.

I dealt with some stupid things like 8th house matters - lies being deceived, people not being what I thought they were, being more intune with myself, I had to move on from some things because were pretty toxic, but it was fine, I guess Saturn in the 7th helped with this. But Jupiter was also transiting the 8th house at the same time with the profection year.

For you, Jupiter will transit 9th and 10th house, and Jupiter is in the 2nd house in your chart. So probably earning more too, probably changing the job or receiving a promotion. You might feel more open. I definitely felt that.

I wonder if it is the house system I am using or what (Placidus which seems to be the default one) but I notice that whatever I was supposed to feel which is an 8th house theme, I am feeling right now. Like it became subtle but towards the end of 2022, I started to genuinely fear that I may have Cancer and lose my life. My chart is also weird in the way it is laid out Placidus style.

Appreciate you sharing your take though, my Jupiter seems to be debilitated since it is in Virgo so I wonder how much that may impact things. I can see good things happening too but right now, life has had me hopeless.

It's because Saturn is about to finish with the 7th house and it's going to enter in the 8th, and the 8th rules death and chronic diseases.

I felt it too, I've been vegetarian for years and I was for a full year vegan, and I have a problem with iron in my body because of this. So I'm in treatment to fix it right now.

I was really concerned too and blamed myself very much for this, for being so naive to think that everything will be ok.

It's just Saturn that shows he is about to enter the 8th. You can check to see if it's something wrong with your body, but I think everything will be ok. Leo risings are usually healthy because the 8th is ruled by Jupiter and on the 6th house is Saturn which delays things. If there is a disease, usually comes later in life.

Sure, there can be other things. But ruler of 6th is in the 7th with whole sign houses, so probably the partner could be like this, and Jupiter is a benefic planet, even though it is in fall.
Or Saturn is in the 6th with Placidus and this could show a health problem, but you went through it for the past 2 years, and you notice this now as he prepares to go to the 8th.

But you could check it just to make sure. I saw that you are a Leo and most of your Leo placements are in opposition to Saturn.

I don't know if it helps, but the iron issue came to the surface when Saturn was in opposition to my ASC. And the 1st house shows the health of the person.

I guess it became clear that I've been messing with my body and Saturn tries to warn me that I might die because of this.

@mee increase your protein intake, it facilitates iron absorption. Nutritional Yeast is a surprisingly high, complete source (just one tablespoon is 4 grams of protein!), and tasty. Snack/shelf products usually have Yeast in the ingredients list because it’s so damn tasty (flavor-enhancer). I put it on popcorn

One tablespoon (14g) of beef = 4 grams of protein. They’re the same

Whereas one tablespoon of egg or cheese is 2 grams of protein.

If you don’t want to eat animals you wont have-to, but you must make certain you eat protein. All the vegans I know use Nutritional Yeast for this easy, added purpose. (Besides a daily portion of legumes or beans)

It’s not that you’re “messing with your body”, it’s just that meat eaters take “protein” for granted with a steak on their plate, whereas Vegs have to incorporate the same “daily relationship” to it from other reputable sources

Meat products are a known carcinogen, which in excess leads to cancer. Consider yourself wise for going veg, but you can’t forget the nutritional macros side of optimal health.

Btw, the planet of karma Saturn abhors animal cruelty, believe it or not, you’re doing right by “him”, but perhaps what came to light during the transit is you’re perhaps not consuming correctly.

Vansio, I've been eating well as a vegan. Lentils, soya, some beans that I don't recall now which are high in proteins to compensate for the meat. The problem is that iron that we can take from vegetables is in little quantity in comparison with the one from meat. Plus other side effects like eating too much fibre when we don't eat meat.

I started eating meat since last year (chicken and eggs mostly) because I was really in a bad shape. It got so bad that I couldn't stand without fearing that I might faint and hurt myself. My skin almost got yellow. All my iron reserves have been consumed and I almost got anaemia from this.

It's better now because I have been eating meat and eggs for the past year and I have been taking iron supliments for the past month. When my doctor saw me, she sent me right to the hospital saying that I have chronic anaemia. I got the results from the blood test yesteday and it's mostly good because my iron reserves have been restored and my hemoglobin it's ok.

It's really hard to be vegan and almost impossible on the long term. I couldn't feel at the beginning, I felt amazing, like it's the best diet. On the long term I felt the consequences. I've been doing this since 2014. :|

I know some other people that are doing fine with this diet. But I don't know for how long they have been doing this. The iron issue doesn''t come up after a month or two or even a year.

I thought to myself when I started "indians are mostly vegetarians or vegan, they are alive and well, so this must be ok" and after all this, recently I found that indians have a rate of over 50% of them being anaemic. :|

Yeah, I like Saturn . I have no problem with him. He just shows where there are problems that need to be dealt with.

Right now, after this... I will take a break from being completely vegetarian or vegan. I still eat vegetables, and I liked them always. Anything in large quantities is bad. I will just eat chicken and eggs with vegetables.

No worries, mee_chryssa, no judgment from me, I totally understand! I’ve been vegetarian and vegan before, though am not any longer. I was adding this tip about Nutritional Yeast just-in-case you were still not eating animal products. ❤️ I’m glad your tests came back in healthy ranges. And that you’re feeling much better with the help of certain foods.

In Vedic astrology, it’s known that it’s best for health (concerning chronic disease - 8th House) to avoid eating the planet(s) placed in your 8th House or ruled by 8th lord. I have Moon (dairy) and Saturn (meat) there, so I go back and forth about it. Though, I would be perfectly content with pescatarian diet without dairy, “Seagan” if fish wasn’t pricey, I’m landlocked. I eat chicken/fish maybe once or twice a week.

For example, a lot of (sidereal) Gemini Risings go vegetarian/sober in their lifetime because Saturn rules their 8th House.

As for milk products, I barely use them, somehow naturally. If it’s served to me I would never refuse, but avoiding it is something that’s stayed with me. And I find Oat milk is tastier for coffee/cappuccino. Which, I recently started adding protein powder into the milk frother machine.

Off the top of my head, (and will fill in the blanks later) this is what I remember from planetary associations:

Sun = Wheat / Salt
Moon = Diary
Mercury = (Nuts?)/Eggs/Processed Foods
Venus = Sugar
Mars = Spicy/Deep-Fried/Red Meat
Jupiter = Fatty Foods
Saturn = Meat/Alcohol/Coffee
North Node = Meat/Alcohol/Eggs
South Node = Fish

I never thought of this. I have Sun in the 8th house.

I like very much the plant based milk. and definetly, I will keep a lot of the receipes I discovered because they were sooo tastefull and I found a lot of ingredients that I didn't knew before.

If I had my children already, I could've tried again, but I can't risk them for this.

WOW, I wouldn't have thought about Jupiter with fatty food. I really can't eat them. I got sick everytime I did.
Vedic astrology is so well constructed.

Yeah I think that the placidus seems a lot more accurate. I am finding that 2023 is likely going to be off to a rough start. Not looking forward to the first half of it at least.

Yeah I turn 31 on Feb 12th so will be 8th house profection for me as well. My 8th is in Scorpio. South node will be the only transit in this house for the year with the exception of the luminaries and the faster moving planets.
I dont have a good feeling about 2023..
but to be honest my current 7th house profection year has been uneventful. No 7th house themes have popped up and absolutely nothing 7th house or venus related happened so let's see what this next year brings

I don't know about profections.I haven't done much research within that regards. But I do know about the 8th house.

With ruler of the Asc in Leo, 8th house Pisces is ruled by Jupiter & Nep. Your Jup is 15Virgo. And your Nep is in Cap 16.

There is the transit of Sat in Pis that will start in your 8th house. Financial security will be the focus point during the next two years. Things will come to a head when Saturn opposes your natal Jupiter in Virgo in house 2. Either you get work, but it doesn't pay enough? Or it pays enough, but is taxing/laborious to do? Whatever it is, it is a matter of takingthe good in with the bad.

If the 2ndH is about self-sustenance and how we put the income we make into use to help sustain ourselves and be independent etc.Then the 8th house is about other people's money i.e. the government's money, the spouse's money or anyone else that we depend on to sustain us. Because their income becomes our income (indirectly). So it is a "joint resource" because we depend on them.

Anytime there are transits to the 2nd house or 8th house,our income is affected. This whether we earn it via other people(8th) OR we earn it through our own efforts( 2nd).

Jupiter will transit your 8th house co-ruler (Neptune) by square.This suggests that money around that time may come via other people. Not through conventional "self" automated channels (2nd). But througj collaborations/ relationships.

So if married/involved,you get it from a spouse/lover. If not, it may be from friends and family. Or perhaps the bank grants you a loan? Maybe you even withdraw investments that have been made by you in order to help make ends meet?

For the 8th house, Jupiter is "loss" on their end.This because in the zodiac wheel , the 8th house is 12th from the 9th house (which Jupiter rules). And it also rules the 12th house of "loss". The 8th house likes retaining money or money coming in. Not going out. Jupiter takes money out.

During this period, when you find support from family/friends you may become so appreciative, that it strengthens and deepens the existing rapport.When from a partner,it increases trust and enhances chances for greater intimacy and/or sex.

Add to this is the Nep transit which will oppose your Moon in 2nd. Nep on Moon by opposition may surface insecurity /uncertainty when it comes to being able to live a comfortable life. Vulnerable feelings will surface. The importance of mental health is emphasized by this transit as moods will go up/down in extremes.

Mercury rules your 11th house Gem of liquid gains and 2nd house Virgo of financial independence.The ability you have to meet financial commitments i.e pay bills,buy groceries,pay mortgage etc. Will be affected by Trans Uranus in Tau squaring Mercury.

This may suggest that income coming in may start to be unpredictable. So invariably, you'll look to the 8th house( as pointed out earlier) for assistance.

Sometimes the Uranus transit to Mercury (2nd house ruler) and Nep/Moon opp may suggest downsizing/selling things off or making radical changes to the living space by letting many things go.

It may even suggest that one clocks in overtime at work/finds supplementary work. Which means they spend less time at home. This especially when we see that Sat is arcing to square the Ic and conj the Dsc/opp Asc.

So invariably this time spent working/ added stress (Sat opp Asc) etc. will affect their existing relations(Saturn conj Dsc) and have them going through a challenging period because people don't see them nearly as often enough as they would like to etc. It will get lonely for them.
