How do you use natal planets in a solar return reading.

For example. Let's say your Natal Neptune is in your 3rd house. For your current solar return, Natal Neptune sits in the SR 7th house.

Do you interpret natal planets this way, or do we only use them when solar return planets make aspects to them?

You should read them together, like a synastry chart. Overlay your SR chart with your natal and read like you would a synastry. Your natal will always be your natal but the SR would be like the other person affecting your natal.
