Hello everyone, So I have had a big big big AHA moment this past month as all of sudden it hit me that my ex whom I was with for 15 years was without a doubt in the autistic spectrum. All of sudden EVERYTHING makes so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sense. I wish soo much I would have known this bc I would have dealt with the relationship differently. I always had compassion for him but was convinced he was narcissistic yet I always felt uncomfortable with that diagnosis bc it did not feel all the way right. He has ADHD and anxiety and this was evident but I always figured he was the way he was bc of unresolved trauma but Noooo that too did not fit all the way and now that it hit me he is autistic everything makes so much sense and I feel a new found level of compassion and understanding for him; and now I think back on a lot of our issues and is like "OMG that is what was happening," he is just autistic, he is not an ******* and narcissist, I always felt he had a good heart and so I had a lot of compassion for this supposedly "narcissist" thinking it was unresolved trauma the culprit. As a child he was diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, and autistic traits and a high IQ but I learned this way later in the relationship and did not look into it as I am very familiar with adhd and anxiety but not autism and figured since they just said he had autistic traits that it was not important. He is definitely in the spectrum, autism explains his behaviors and issues even better than ADHD and anxiety although he also has those two things but I would say autism is the primary diagnosis. Is common for auspies to be mislabeled as narcissists it turns out... Anyhoo.... I seem to be attracted to people in the spectrum and weirdly a lot of my favorite movies are romantic movies of people in the spectrum, I can't believe I was watching those movies while married to him and it did not hit me then. I am wondering what aspects in the natal chart could account for this in your experience. I believe my current partner is also in the spectrum or at least has autistic tendencies in addition to ADD and anxiety, panic attack disorder and substance use disorder. He is doing good right now. I believe I have DC in Cancer and Moon in Pisces opposite mercury rx. This tends to put me in codependant relationships were I feel I am the parent helping partner get ahead in life and "function better" in the world but does it explain why am attracted to people on the spectrum? I am neurodivergent myself with autistic tendencies but NOT in the spectrum is the sense I get from the assessment I took so far and the results. IP: Logged |

I'm not formally diagnosed, but I am about 94% sure that I am on the spectrum.For me, Autism always was related to Mercury and Uranus. In fact, yes a fact! The first person ever to be diagnosed with Autism was a Sun in Virgo/Virgo! A Mercury ruled sign! Check if Venus is in any trines/aspects to Uranus, and/or Mercury. Then search any 3rd and/or 11th house if you have any. ------------------ Happiness is easy to find. IP: Logged |

Without a doubt there is a strong Mercurial aspect to it. I was initially diagnosed with ADHD when I was younger, followed by more tests to which I was officially diagnosed as ASD. If you saw me in person you probably wouldn't know, until you realize that I really have a knack of doing things and figuring it out on my own. quote: Originally posted by hypatia238:

Wonder if you've watched Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011). I know it's a non astrology answer, more of an ASD answer. perhaps you see people with the same interest as you and sorta want to help them out? My Planets ========================================= ☉‘ ♊, ☽ ♈, ASC ♑, ☿ ♊, ¡÷ ♉, ¡ö ♋ , ♃ ♒, ♄ ♏, ♅ ♐, ♆ ♑ IP: Logged |

Quick post now and maybe more later… I am curious about this too. I thought about it but don’t really have an answer. Two very significant men in my life were on the spectrum and another one had ADHD. I lived with 2 of them - one on the spectrum and the one with ADHD. I have Mercury (conj Sun) in Aquarius on my Descendant, square Uranus! Also trine Pluto and sextile Neptune.I am neurotypical and don’t have ADHD or anything else. I was working with a therapist for a long time so I’m sure about it. However, I don’t really know what would indicate them being on the spectrum. Nothing stands out for me in their charts. I’ve heard Jupiter is associated with autism and Uranus with ADHD. In reality, it should be more than one planet.IP: Logged |

I started to suspect the same. Also, I might be myself neurodivergent. DC ruler aspect Uranus or Neptune. Jupiter is possibly on MC-DC. IP: Logged |

I think people with hard Saturn have some patterns. They might need other people around to set example what resonate with them or fit certain patterns/roles. It might be more placements in it.At some point I started to see patterns in many events and people. About when tr. Saturn sq. Mercury. IP: Logged |

Uhh interesting fact.. Very helpful information, thanks. My ex his chart ruler is venus and it squares his MARS conjunct Uranus which fall right on his DC. His mercury quintiles his northnode, sextiles his venus and trines his moon. In this case the chart ruler in hard aspect to Uranus with Uranus on his DC angle explains it more but the mercury quintile northnode and sextile venus can explain his special interests and creative drive. My current partner I also feel is in the spectrum which is how I came to realize all this... His chart ruler is MARS in virgo conjunct VENUS in virgo and he has MARS in virgo conjunct VENUS squaring JUPITER conjunct URANUS. His mercury is in libra conjunct PLUTO on his DC angle and forms a YOD with his MOON and NEPTUNE, he has moon in Taurus at the apex of the YOD. The way his brain works is very interesting, he definitely has racing thoughts were one thing just leads another and the questions that pop up just keep coming and spiraling and he has intrusive thoughts and is a numbers guy, feels like he has a calculator in there working all the time sometimes. My good friend Andrew that I have known since my early 20s I feel is in the spectrum. He is aquarius, He has Uranus conjunct his Ascendant, and his chart ruler is JUPITER in aquarius at aries point and it squares his MOON conjunct PLUTO. His mercury conjuncts his antivertex and sextiles Uranus. All three have URANUS either aspecting their chart ruler via hard aspect and/or sitting on their AC/DC angle.

this is a great assessment you can take online to help you explore if you are in the spectrum, maybe you already know of this assessment but just in case I am sharing it with you: http://embrace-autism.com/raads-r/

You have Jupiter in 1st sq. MC and making t-square with Saturn Nodes. Saturn might be a chart ruler. Also, you have Mystic rectangular and couple t-squares. Neptune is making aspect to all personal placements. Sun combust Mercury opp. Uranus. There’s a lot to unfold. It should be more complicated than one aspect or placement. Probably, aspects with moon and Mercury should be the major here. IP: Logged |

That movie looks great, getting teary already just watching the trailer! thank you, I am totally going to watch it this week House is one of my favorite shows, I should rewatch it actually, didn't realize he was in the spectrum but it makes sense, I have always appreciated his bluntness and disregard for authority. I watched that show with my ex actually. I like people who are different and do their own thing but not in the look at my hair is purple kind of way; more like the way they are and carry themselves, people who don't care what others think of them, house is a good example actually, it just never occurred to me that I was without realizing it picking life partners that are in the spectrum. Mercury RX opposes my DC ruler Moon in pisces which both square my nodes. JUNO parallels exact my MERCURY RX so it could be JUNO. JUNO parallel Mercury rx also parallels my PLUTO and I believe my chart ruler is saturn in scorpio conjunct pluto in libra. I form intense deep bonds with these folks in the spectrum and have some tendencies myself so there is enough tendencies in myself that I see some of myself in them and hence we end up together. Interesting mercury rx opposite my dc ruler is part of my skipped step and that it parallels JUNO and PLUTO and PLUTO conjuncts my chart ruler. IP: Logged |

Thanks for sharing your chart! Notice you have JUPITER in AQUARIUS in the 1st squaring your chart ruler saturn in Scorpio. I think AC ruler aspecting a placement in aquarius falling in the first house fits the rest of the observations I shared from the 3 examples I gave today of people that are in the spectrum. That could be one of the markers for you IP: Logged |

I could see that, I shared an assessment here that can help you explore that more... Thanks for sharing about Jupiter and Uranus. I do have mercury rx parallel juno and opposing my dc ruler but my JUNO is inconjunct jupiter conjunct uranus so again it may be more connected to my JUNO the marriage partners I pick being on the spectrum, these are people I move in with or marry etc.. JUNO parallel MERCURY RX EXACT JUNO quincux/inconjunct URANUS conjunct JUPITER all at 5 degrees. Yep I think those two would do it! IP: Logged |

Thank you so much Frida for sharing! this is very helpful. It fits the aquarius placements in the 7th squaring uranus What is going on with your JUNO? Curious...

Very interesting topic. From what I read, autism has mostly to do with communication and repetitive behavior, and avoiding social interactions, so if you find yourself attracted to people like that, it could come from the DC ruler in a simultaneous aspect with Mercury and Saturn. Does that resonate with any of you?I would assume also any difficult aspect between the Moon, Jupiter and Mercury especially if restricted by Saturn or falling in Capricorn. IP: Logged |

Autism spectrum is much much more... many times brilliant people, innocent approach to life, various sensitivities to light and sounds etc. It gets complicated... e.g. someone with a lot of Neptune/Pisces influence might be attracted to a person on the spectrum because they share the sensitivity to the environment. Good follow up, I did not know how to respond to her post. The three people I talk about on this post are so different, it is indeed a complicated topic. There is the sensory stuff which can impact intimacy, even hugging too long or caressing the person repetitively can be overly stimulating, for one of them hugging too long at times felt overly stimulating, for another being caressed a certain way or in a repetitive manner was overly stimulating, for my friend he has to wear ear plugs at times. All three of them are sensitive to sound. Some of them can get really triggered by others disrupting their routine or the way they function, I remember my ex having a melt down bc I bought a blanket and then he ended up liking it but me disrupting his routine by introducing something to the home without him knowing about it and choosing it himself gave him a melt down, that incident makes so much sense now but my current partner also on the spectrum would not give a F about that yet he has a thing with time and certain things being done at a certain time always like walking the dog, it needs to happen at certain times or he gets super anxious, uncomfortable and very distressed yet my dog lets me know when she needs to go and I am comfortable being a bit flexible with this and working with more of a range. Its hard to explain that there is a criteria but it can also manifest very differently from person to person. Also some people in the spectrum can be socially motivated and engage in masking to have a social life. Is just that they can struggle with social situations and not understand the back and forth that needs to take place in conversations and once they start talking about something that interests them they may not be able to stop making them seem self absorbed and often they like to talk only about the things that interests them. It indeed gets complicated... I have a strong neptune influence in my chart, neptune conjunct my Ascendant from the 12th and it squares my Sun and Moon so I don't like overly stimulating environments and if I put myself through that I need to recharge for a while or if I socialize to much I start to get cranky and need alone time bc it feels overly stimulating but I still need connection and benefit from socializing periodically but don't do it regularly specially as my job is very social. I don't think I am in the spectrum but that is definitely one of the ways I have autistic tendencies. IP: Logged |

Those are general characteristics but it's not diagnostic someone may not display any of that and still be on the spectrum. When I was I was younger, I was shy to look at people eye to eye. But now that i've obtained more credentials and experience in my field, I have no problem giving the Aries moon stare and directness that I know what i'm doing. My family would say almost the same things. The only thing I do differently, I make it clear what is the one major thing I don't want impacted or changed. Like, I keep the temperature in my home at 22 Deg Celsius/ 72 Fahrenheit year round, during both the Summer and Winter. I make it clear not to change the thermostat. If someone changes it I will get peeved, but it's not like I didn't worn the person first. Ironically, one time I was tasked with grocery shopping for my sisters three kids. I think I drove her nuts making sure everything was correct, even to the point of asking if having Count Cholula on the cereal box is okay. Any aspect between DC or MC ruler to Mercury for you? Without Mercury in play I doubt we could find an astrological correlation with regards to your question, because of most famous examples of autism having Mercury/Saturn, hence the communication issues. Unless your exes had indeed narcissistic traits and not autism. My childhood best friend could fit those descriptions. She was smart but had dyslexia and avoided human contact. Her mercury conjunct Saturn in Cap. In her personal life she pursued a guy knowing he didn't love her, just to get to a specific position. Once she did, she divorced him within a few years. I thought she was at times selfish in friendships too. I remember there was a time I decided I didn't want to be friends with her, due to her manipulative behavior, and she subtly threatened she would leave that school, so I would never see her again! As we grew older, she always texted me to go over to her place even though I was busy, and then when I had a party or something she would say something along the lines of oh it's the birthday party of my other friends. Then she would meet me the next day and spend the whole time talking behind their back. As kids we bonded over nerdy stuff, books, astronomy, video games. I would help her with her studies too. And the over time she turned into quite a negative person. Anyway not to get sidetracked but these are her placements: Aqua Sun and rising Virgo moon Cap mercury Gemini mars I forgot her venus sign IP: Logged | |
